I wanted to extend my weekend while in Daytona so I found a reasonable hotel, Spark by Hilton, in Ormond Beach. It was more of a motel as the doors were on the outside. But you had to use your room card to get into the building to access the elevators. I had an oceanfront room on the 7th floor with a small balcony. I enjoyed my night in Ormond Beach more than Daytona as it had a slower pace and was quieter. The room was a nice size but the bathroom was teeny tiny. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The chair beside the bed was comfortable as I sat in it for a while watching TV. But if you're looking to do some work at the desk it only offers a pull-out stool which was stored under the desk. The free breakfast Sunday morning wasn't much. There was no hot bar or waffle maker. I grabbed a bagel, toasted it and added some strawberry cream cheese. They also had cereal and muffins. I loved that checkout was at 12:00 PM! I got up just after sunrise put on my bathing suit and hung out at the pool for about an hour, grabbed some rays before eating breakfast, taking a shower and hitting the road for home. Checked in on a Wednesday evening and the desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. It was our first time staying in Florida. We were given a room on the 7th floor facing the ocean. It was an amazing view! Room was clean, continental breakfast was fresh and the hostess was also amazing. We stayed 3 nights and 4 days before our cruise and enjoyed every minute. This place was amazing,first, they let me and my family check in 4 hours early. And they gave us the beachside room for the same price as a normal rooms that usually cost 100 only per night. And the sunset was beautiful from our hotel because the sun was right in front of us.The room came with 2 beds and a couch that can fold into a bed.There is an balcony that faces right towards the ocean. Really warm pool outside with a gateway to the beach.Big TV I'll say, and free breakfast 6-10 am.Room was really clean with the nicest workers at the front desk.There are 7 floors, plus's a underground parking lot. The beach was beautiful and private. We loved our two bedroom suite however it was only a partial view instead of a direct view like the photo I saw showed. Pool was closed but we were able to use the pools and hot tubs next door. They had some kids activities going on for spring break. Downside was they have very limited chairs and umbrellas, like 5 total so even if you get there early you aren't likely to get one. We were told they had one more that was broken and had been for a while. read more

let me start by saying--the sunrise view was stunning. The location is beautiful, directly on the beach. My first room? Definitely not clean. Towels in the tub, trash still in the can, and the bed wasn't made properly. Thankfully, the front desk staff was kind and quick to help--switched my room with an apology and no hassle. The second room was clean and comfy, but the AC never got truly cold overnight. Add in the ongoing renovations, and there was quite a bit of noise and worker traffic right outside my window during the day. Breakfast was super light--just bagels and spreads, so don't come hungry expecting a full Hilton-style spread. Overall, it was an okay stay. If the price is right, I'd give it another shot mainly for the view and location--but with a few improvements, it could easily go from just okay to great. read more

I'm actually surprised this hotel has only 1.8 stars. There are many great things about this hotel, especially the price! We were able to book a multiple beds room directly facing the beach for 150$ a night, which was already very cheap since most others would cost at least 1.5-3x the price. Since we went on Thanksgiving, this was a really good deal. I've heard that the rooms went down to even 100$ a night from the black Friday sales that unfortunately we didn't book during. When we booked in October, we were informed that the pool was undergoing renovations, but surprisingly they got it open when we arrived. The room we booked was quite spacious, but there were a few design elements that really baffled me. There was a small protrusion from the main room where a pull-out couch was placed in, and the lighting felt dull and just sad compared to the warm colors of the rest of the room. Also, the bathroom, which despite the massive size of the room, was so small that I could reach across it not just length wise, not just width wise, but even height wise. I am only 5'7 and my 6'0 tall brother actually felt claustrophobic while in it because in the shower, his head was very close to the ceiling. Also, strangely, the table had two layers, and apparently you could pull it out to extend the length of the table. However, this hotel does have a few downsides, including not having a microwave in the room. Also, for some reason, there are no lights surrounding the pool at night, so my plans to take a night dip were scrapped. Also, I found it surprising that the pool was EXTREMELY cold, and it was even colder than the ocean on the days we went. About halfway through our stay, one of the bulbs went out on one of the lamps, and when we contacted the front desk, they immediately sent out a technician to fix it. Also about halfway through our stay, one of the elevators broke down, but it was repaired about two days after it was reported. The breakfast attendant was also very friendly, and even brought out coffee for us when we were getting breakfast. Although the hotel could use some touch-ups, the little things like this definitely made the stay better. When we first arrived, I was skeptical of this hotel's quality control as I heard many negative reviews that were also surprised that it was in the Hilton name, but it was actually pretty decent. There was also a fun little easter egg where two model owls sat above the elevator shaft structure. If I ever go back to Daytona Beach, I am sure to stay here again! read more

Sunset from room was beautiful. Upkeep on grounds terrible. For four days a dirty diaper was left close to the pool entrance. Dirty socks, pizza boxes left under chairs. should have signs out saying no food in area. Kids eating pizza inside pool along pool along with ice cream. Never saw chemicals being checked. House keeping comes every two days. We were going out the door as they came they said do you need anything? Handed us towels and left never offered to come in and vacuum or clean baths even though we told them we were going out. read more

Location is great. Dog friendly. Price was decent. Rooms were clean and didn't smell bad. Ocean front view is great. Rooms are big. My only issue is the rooms don't have microwave and the very little fridge is on the floor. Also paying $10 a night for parking when it isn't gated nor a garage is kind of pointless. The room was great and the pool was well attended so it was clean. We loved being able to walk right on the beach. We did have a long suite, which was roomy and clean. One of the sliding glass door was really cracked. Our room came with a fold out couch. Normally there would be sheets, blankets, and pillows, but there wasn't. We had to go to the front desk for them. The hotel is a tad older. I was hoping to utilize the gym, but there wasn't one. The breakfast was very basic. Nothing hot except bagels and oatmeal, which was fine. Overall not a bad hotel was a quick trip to a hotel on the beach. read more

I had an amazing experience with this location, while I was in town for my daughter's volleyball tournament at the Ocean Center. The staff were amazing and so welcoming. Though the venue is a bit older, it's expected that things won't be as expected. I am apart of the Hilton Honors and friends/family. But even so, the nightly rate was decent. I absolutely want to give a shout out to Layne! She was so wonderful to us and expedited any room service need and checked in via text to make sure we were doing well. We will definitely stay here when we are back in Daytona for events and/or leisure! Thanks for everything! read more

Stayed 4/1+2/2026 The bathroom ceiling of room 608 started pouring gross water down on my head.. im screaming almost electrocuted by the light & fan.. my spouse finally came running n shut tge light/fan off & saved me by helping me get out of the bathroom and called tge desk.. i wanted to check out n leave in fear of hotel water pouring down might cause a sink hole and tge pool on opposite side of hotel like others collapsed b4 would bring us all down at that point. 8pm. The manager, lynn i think, started with "L" & John front desk aware of it, begged me to stay, promised me 10,000 reward point,. I didnt care what point were, but i did stay in room 308 hoping it didnt colappse with the rest as my fear was not irrational but real. I did stay, anxietied and my night was terrible, the room didnt even have a chair or other immenities. I didnt care, i was scared, upset, embarrassed, and they promised me stupid points n commped my 8pm room. It was ok i guess after trama.. so. Its now May 14th. No points, ive called, no points. Liars so im posting this here, copying it and posting it on Google. Im putting it up on my social medias because its the points i mean point of the matter. 10,000 points is not enuf for even 1 room. Why lose a repete customer, all my fans, my large google reviewes when john or his mam a ger could just have given the useless point n id have said nothing like i had done up to this very second n letter typed. I was going to give them a chance since I have been a long standing Hilton member, unfortunately had to cancel at the last minute and they charged me over $966, refused to even work with me or apply my Hilton points to offset. Hilton, who owns the blame? Under construction ( apparently for some time). Do not blame the front desk. Positives: Room clean, could see the ocean -3rd floor North side. Staff Caroline, Patty and Michael are great. All others were polite and helpful. Neg. Yes, there is only 1 elevator and you'd think it was soon to be renovated but no, it the newest one and all other are not working. Breakfast did not meet usual Hilton standards -bagels but not much else. Peanut butter, cream cheese yogurt but no other protein, no cereal, no milk, no fruit. Our room was clean but sparse. No microwave. Conditioner and soap had fallen off the wall. Whole hotel Dingy and worn. Hilton this is not a good example of your quality and usual standards. Staying here presently should be discounted. I'd like 50% refund since it appears everything is less than 1/2 done. read more

There was old blood on the bedding, the trash over flowed in the bins by the elevators on the three floors we were on. Only one elevator was working...sort of. Suck it up. This is post Covid America. It all sucks now. Measure it against the benefits. Easy parking. Terrible customer service. Had reservations and drive 12 hours only to find the hotel was overbooked by 3 rooms and our reservation had been cancelled. This was during Spring break and all other hotels were at fully capacity. The staff was not concerned and even went as far as threatening to call the authorities for us asking questions as to why we were not even contacted. Hotel management was not available per the front desk clerk. Video camera will show the disrespect received but this hotel obviously doesn't want to show it. I would definitely not recommend. This hotel is obviously not trustworthy of keeping guests reservations. read more

I had stayed at the Best Western at least every year and sometimes several times per year for the past 11 years before it was taken over and "renovated" by Hilton to become the Spark. I expected that the "renovation" would result in improvement, especially considering the cost of staying there, but I was extremely disappointed. Hilton had the hotel painted inside and out, which made it look nice, but it resulted in a lot of difficulty opening and closing the door to the unit as well as the bathroom door. It was hard to lock the door to the unit, and the safety latch no longer lined up, making it unusable. There are absolutely no drawers in the room, making it extremely difficult to figure out what to do with clothing and other personal belongings. Although there is an open closet in the room, there were no hangars in the closet. There is no coffee maker or microwave in the room, and the kitchenette has been removed. There are no comfortable chairs in the room/balcony (the metal chairs are awful, and the sofa in the corner of the room facing the bathroom is not near the TV or the balcony). There is a shortage of towels at the hotel (when asking for towels, we were told no fewer than three times that we should return at 9AM to see if there were any towels). Getting any warm water in the shower was a challenge at best. We resorted to turning on the hot water in the shower as soon as we got to the room, and after 20 minutes of letting it run, the water was still cold. After 30 minutes, the water was tepid. There is no longer any hot breakfast, and the "bagel bar" cannot be considered a continental breakfast because it consists of only coffee, bagels, cream cheese, and tiny yogurt cartons. There is no milk or fruit at the bagel bar. There is also only one elevator working in the hotel making for very long waits, especially when the housekeeping staff is attempting to bring their carts to the floors. The staff is the only positive about this hotel. Patty and Jackie, who have been working at this location for many years, were wonderful as always. Sean, who is new to the hotel staff was also great. All in all, the hotel is extremely disappointing for the cost. The quality was perhaps at the level of a Motel 6, but the room rate was $161.40 plus tax for the weekday rate and $228.25 plus tax during the weekend. After 11 years of staying at that location, we will be looking for a different hotel for future trips. read more

Never been so disappointed in a hotel and we've been to soooo many hotels. We started off on the wrong foot when they informed us they we could only have one car. When we asked, where do we park our other car and we were told "I have no idea" It only got worse from there... One of the elevators was completely broken. The other wouldn't stop on the 1st floor. There was blood on the bedding...not ours. The place was dirty and falling apart. There was no ice bucket in the room. Hilariously, the pool sign said the pool is closed during the day...midnight swim fine, noon swim...nope! The final straw was when my husband called down and asked for more towels (we had to use ours as pool towels because they didn't have any) the lady banged on the door like she was the cops and then refused to give us more towels until we gave them the dirty ones...I had just gotten out of the shower and was actively using two of them. Talk about making your guests feel like theives. After everything, my husband started arguing which wasn't great but it was such a horrible experience! read more

Let me start by saying I can NOT believe Hilton put their name on this!! it was a dive. Run down, not clean, only one slow elevator working, safety is not a priority here because doors don't shut and lock, coffee in the lobby was only regular coffee (no decaf or hot water for tea), no coffee maker in the room, breakfast was a joke it was bagles, one flavor of yogurt and prepackaged muffins... that's it! Funny thing is about 5 years ago we (me my gma and my friend) were placed here on vacation, for about 3 days 2 nights. When we arrived the outside already gave motel vibes and so did the inside. Whenever we go/went on trips we were always in nice hotels so this was a major downgrade. The room looked horrible and had an interesting smell to it. It was actually so bad my gma cut the trip short and we left the next morning. Fast forward to 6/10/24. Once we got the address we were crossing our fingers that they didn't put us back here and lo and behold it was this same hotel. This time i could tell it was rebranded or under new management so that gave us hope even though we didn't wanna stay here. We get up to the room you have to play tug of war with door just to get it open, the room did look better. Don't even bother with the tv. We had an ocean view and the door to balcony was literally locked shut. We couldn't open it at all which was upsetting. The toilet was faulty and made noise all night. The breakfast only consisted of bagels. Only one elevator worked and it was extremely hot on it. So just pay a little extra to stay at a better hotel. Also this is a HOSTEL which means low budget, inexpensive lodging so..yea. I'd give 0 stars if i could. read more

we traveled from Georgia to stay at the Spark by Hilton beachfront hotel at Ormond Beach Florida and everything was a nightmare. Front desk clerk was rude not attentive and not willing to help with our situation. We reserved our room through the website where it says that we have self parking for $10 but it's it does not specify that it is only one parking space per room, we drove from Georgia with two cars. The front desk clerk advised us to park the second car at a public space knowing full well that our car could be towed. We decided to go to the room to think about our next step and the room was dirty, smelled of mold and did not have basic toiletries. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash were multi use big bottles with caps that could be removed and easily tampered with. My daughter suffered an asthma flare due to the smell of mold in the room. There was only one elevator functioning with no air conditioning and no max capacity. The basement parking had rats crawling around; the place is a safety hazard. We ask for our money back and the clerk , billed us for the whole stay even though we left soon after checking in. We're trying to get a refund and to have someone look at that place for is accident waiting to happen. We don't want other people to have this experience. If I could post NO stars I would. read more
