The rooms are clean, comfortable, and nicely updated while still keeping that special beachside feel. They really do have something for everyone! the Inn, the adorable seaside cottages, a great pool, and even a nice RV park. You can also rent cabanas right on the beach. And the location is hard to beat. You can literally walk out of your room and be at the ocean! There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and many will deliver, so once you arrive, you really don't have to go far for anything. But I have to give a special shoutout to Ms. Debbie! I needed something printed to give to my brother and Cathy was so kind to help me. The cottage was very clean and very well maintained. After 3 or 4 visits over the past 9 years I think we are knocking this one off the list. They work hard at trying to keep the place looking fresh but there's only so much you can do before it requires a major overhaul, like new bathrooms. Pool is great for kids, could use a couple more umbrellas. Our biggest beef is the lady at the front desk having a major hissy fit when she claimed that we're parking in two spaces. We were not parked in 2 spots based on the pavement striping. But regardless, we moved over 3 feet so another car could park over top the 5 foot wide hashed spot next to the sign that says "Van Accessible". Go figure. We had a handicap placard. Not handled like a business that wants to accommodate people. I suggest a kinder tone, like, "we would like to squeeze one more parking spot in that obsolete wheelchair spot. Do you mind moving?" The lady got combative and defensive when my wife suggested that they improve the white striping on the black asphalt to reflect her reality. read more

This was my 4th time staying here and I'm never disappointed. This isn't a fancy place, it's a bit dated but very clean. It's a family environment, feels safe and very easy to get around . The beach is literally steps away- go in the morning. Afternoon, sunset, and in the dark! Experience it at any time. And if you forget something in the room or need to use the restroom, it's an easy walk back to your room. The staff is 10/10- I was there the day after a storm and they had powers outages on and few cottages, staff was working overtime to get issues resolved. I saw them there swapping out TVs and taking care of maintenance issues well past 8pm. And even with all the pressure , they are still friendly and kind and don't let it affect the guests. Rooms are a bit dated and you can see they've patched things up just about everywhere, rooms are a bit mildewy smelling but everything is very clean. Sheets are clean, beds are comfy and we had everthing we needed. I can't wait to stay in a cottage in the future. I will continue to stay here! read more

Nice location, nice beach area. Easy to find. Rooms smelled clean on arrival. Now, for the bad parts. Parking is limited and very tight. We had to park across the street in overflow 3 nights in a row. They had a plumbing problem and there was no water for a day- they did, however, notify us but it was inconvenient. No restaurant on sight. They had a food truck one night that was pretty good. A close look at the rooms will tell you the age of the place and painting is overdue in some areas like our bathroom. read more

This place is great! My room (212) was clean and overall was in good shape. The bed was a little hard but the experience was worth being a little uncomfortable. The walk to the beach was short and you can see the ocean from every room. The pool was a good size and heated. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only down side we experienced was the parking. Parking spaces were very limited but they did have overflow parking across the street at the insurance agency. We took my granddaughter for her first beach trip and was able to get parking passes for some family to join us for the day without additional charge. The hotel does have an elevator and baggage carts to help get things to your room. I will definitely be back. I booked through hotels.com and had no issues with my reservation. read more

We reserved unit #613 months ahead of our stay. After driving nearly 900 miles, we were 20 minutes away when I got a call telling us we could not check into #613. We were told the unit was out of service because of a maintenance issue, they wouldn't elaborate. We were given the option of a cottage #127 for part of our stay then we had to leave that unit and move to a 1st floor room in the high rise. Since it was Bike Week we didn't have many options, so we took what they had to offer. We were quite surprised at the state of unit #127. It was in dire need of upkeep. The unit we reserved #613 had a separate bedroom and living area. Since we had to switch units we requested a couch, they did bring a couch from another unit, however it was so wore out when setting on it, I swear out butts went all the way down to the hide-a-way bed. The toilet was barely fastened to the floor, setting on it made it wobbled side to side, when my husband told the front desk the lady responded with "really". That was as far as they went. You can see from the pictures some of the maintenance issues needing attention. After we packed up everything to move to the room in the high rise, we decided we didn't want to unpack and repack everything for just a few days, so we checked out. PROs- beautiful grounds, lovely view from unit #127, friendly and helpful staff, the cottage was very clean. We were told the property was recently sold and the new owners would be doing maintenance and repairs to the property. Honestly we would stay here again purely for the location. This review is just to give you a heads up if you plan on reserving unit #127. read more

We stayed at Coral Sands RV Resort in Sept. with our 32ft class C and had a wonderful time. A Oceanfront Resort with water, sewer and wifi hook up. Water pressure was great, wifi too, we had 30amp MH. The beach was gorgeous and not crowded and no cars, lots of shells to bring home too. The staff was just wonderful, especially Kathy, she made us feel like family. There are restaurants and a shopping mall w grocery store all within a couple of blocks away. We highly recommend this place if your looking for a low key, relaxing stay. read more

Overall we had a lovely stay. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well kept for an older hotel. No real modern amenities in the rooms. But everything was functional. A/C wall units. (Maintenance replaced ours during our stay so it was brand new) sink mini fridge and toaster. They did provide a few plates and utensils. Nothing fancy. But clean! The beds are on the firm side. Plenty of soft pillows. If you want housekeeping during your stay you have to request it. In the evenings they have tiki touches. So much fun and adds to the ambiance. Landscaping was well kept and beautiful. The pool and pool area was well kept. Kids and families all playing nicely together. The pool is located right next to the beach for a great view and breeze from the ocean. There is nothing luxurious about this hotel. But we were completely satisfied with our stay. The price was reasonable for the accommodations. We plan to return when visiting family in the area. read more

Do not tell someone you are in a cottage with ocean view when the only view of the ocean is out a back window you have to stand there to see it. The porch with chairs faces busy A1A, up close and personal. Cottage is small hotel room. Difficult to move around. Beach narrow with orange colored sand and dunes being worked on. Windows can open but...no screen on ground level! Told cottage had king sized bed but had two queens. Left a day early. Won't return. I am sorry. read more

This could've gone better... Well we stayed at the small RV park. It's right on the beach and could use some TLC. There's a terribly located, massive construction dumpster. The bath house didn't appear to work but they had a temporary (or I hope it is) station set up. There's a lovely path to the beach for strolling. The issue came when the power went out... we checked the pedestal for our site, as well as the power pole that connects to several sites and there was zero power. We know a little about electricity... called the front desk to see if they could just call the power company and get us on the list. We were told "It's not a FL power issue, there's nothing we can do for you tonight". Excuse me?! We paid for this spot and you aren't even going to try to make a call? We reported the outage and it was definitely a FPL issue. Luckily the power company has better customer service and fixed it. Next fun situation... finding someone illegally parked in a very public and empty rv spot... smoking "the devil's" grass and her partner's flesh flute. To each their own, but there are better places for it... not in an rv park where there are families. The front desk also Handled this poorly. Had they tried... it could've been a 5 star trip but they didn't so I'm being more generous than I should by giving 3. You can do better! read more

Lovely hotel. We stayed two to a cottage room. The other unit on the other side of us wasn't rented our weekend so it was like having a building to ourself. You can see the beach from the units and the beach area is nice and quiet, much less populated than further down in Daytona Beach. Room was clean. Ice machine great. Pool nice. Shower stayed hot forever. They have a nice Covid policy and so room service only came if asked which was honestly nice. Our cable went out once but they were super quick to fix it. I'd recommend this place. Save yourself some money and noise and stay here while visiting Daytona by car. read more

This is an old school Florida getaway! We've been coming here for a few years now. The employees are nice, friendly and very helpful. Some areas are "dated" but I think the dated rooms adds to the uniqueness of this place! The best part is it's very clean! From the grounds, pool, to the rooms it's just clean. This place is perfect for large family groups or the small family to couples. The beach area is nice and quiet for the most part. Depending if there is a large family reunion it can get busy, but plenty of places along the beach to relax. read more

And a snake was attempting to get in ground floor cabin (wedged between door and door frame). Emailed manager after returning home to tell her about our experience. Have not heard back. We stayed for a weekend at the Coral Sands in November, 2018. We have nothing but compliments about the property. We were in one of the hotel rooms and it was bright, clean and had a wonderful view of the ocean. The way the hotel rooms are angled, all rooms are ocean view. As we were there on a business trip, we didn't get to enjoy and relax that much, but we want to go back to do so. The pool is beautiful and there are plenty of ground-floor tables and chairs to enjoy the scenery. The staff were *exceptionally* friendly. Can't wait to see you again, Coral Sands! read more

After driving 2 hours to have a day at the beach, Coral Sands Inn refused our request for an early check-in.

This is a run down facility trying to make a buck. We had a kitchen unit in the first floor, which was nice when leaving the room to visit the beach. I understand the issues a building on the ocean front would have and there are issues, but this place needs a real modern upgrade. The parking is the pits, at least it was over the Thanksgiving weekend we were there. You could do better for the money. read more

Everything that I write here, I have video to back it up, and I would love to speak to corporate or whoever owns Coral Sands. The so-called general manager has absolutely zero customer service. She Refused to hear a complaint about two of her workers. The two workers were told to not do their repairs until we left today at noon. When I politely asked them to please wait until we left at noon that they were blocking my view that I paid for in retaliation, They came back and put two big orange cones 3 feet from my chair blocking my entire view on purpose when I went to complain, the so-called Latoya, the manager, refused to hear my complaint because she did not like my tone. This was before I even was able to explain what happened. When I told her my tone was because I was upset that she needed to get some ovaries if she couldn't handle the tone of my voice, that's when she told me I had to leave. I repeatedly asked for her supervisor then when we left two hours early after she harassed us again. I have this on video repeatedly telling her we were leaving and to leave me alone. She did not like some of my first amendment choice of words at this point and I had to remind her what country she was in. When we cannot complain and a manager refuses to give us their bosses number we have a problem I would like to submit my videos to someone above Latoya's head. I would like the two females that retaliated against being held accountable. The public bathroom also has inch gaps in all the stalls so you have zero privacy. It's really weird. I do not give them one star and I will never spend another dime there. Run Forrest run. There are plenty more places to stay on the ocean where professionals with management training run the show and it is not Coral Sands. read more

I recently stayed at their RV resort,7/72023-7/9/2023 where I had paid extra for an ocean-view site, but there was no power when we arrived. They moved us to a different site and did not refund the $50 difference in rate for the two nights we stayed there. The staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional, making my experience even worse. I am currently on immune suppressant medicine so I limit my interaction with strangers indoors, but they would not allow my husband to check us in. The sand on the beach was replaced, but now it's infested with sand fleas and ants that bite. On the second day of my stay, we had no running water. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would rather pay more at a different oceanfront location than deal with their nonsense. BEWARE of the staff; they are extremely condescending and unhelpful. read more

We came here to celebrate our first anniversary. We had a great views and access to the ocean. Our room was clean, even smelling like bleach after housekeeping left. My reason for only 3 stars is for how run-down it feels. The pool chairs were very faded and worn. The bathroom had loose trim on the shower curtain rod. The sink areas looked worn out and tired too. We've had the opportunity to stay here twice in two years ...some friends have rooms set aside during Memorial Day Weekend. This is a fairly old motel with five stories and some bungalows scattered on both the North and South side of the property. The rooms are nice sized with a kitchen area (sink, minifridge and microwave, dishes, utensils,etc.) No stove however but you can save a bit on food versus eating out all the time. It's just a couple miles north of Hwy 40 with the usual arrangement of chain restaurants and there is nice Publix Supermarket about 1/2 mile north. It's not the prettiest place around but comfortable for the price, the pool has been redone and this is a very quiet part of the beach (well north of touristville). the lone elevator is pretty slow but you can get in some exercise on the stairs. Staff is friendly. Parking can be an issue on holiday weekends. they have a couple of grills available and two gazebos that are first-come, first-serve. Should you be looking for old Florida at a good price and minimal amenities this is not a bad option. read more

This is NOT a review of the RV resort adjoining property! Coral Sands is reminiscent of circa 70's motels that has invested in its future and made necessary improvements, decorations and faithful staff to keep people coming back. Nice job! Only 2 things stole a 5th star. The towels are absolutely some of the worst...I could've used 60 grit sandpaper and felt better. Whilst the bed is comfortable and slept well I believe it's "bouncy" feel hinted someone cut corners on the order sheet. Room was spotless and smelled great. read more

Terrible! Stayed here before and the view is great and proximity to the beach. Last year we thought they were up dating and going to make some improvements but they did not. We stayed in a cabin. The bathroom grout has probably never been cleaned, or the kitchen it is black! The cabinets are warped, bathroom and kitchen. We booked for 2 weeks but they will not give you any dishes or pots and pans. They say because of covid which makes no sense. The main reason is they have no dishwashers. So they think you can go buy a set of dishes and pots and pans?????? Total rip off for the price. read more

This is a great hidden find. One of my corporations has a biannual beach retreat here to bring everyone together with our families. With 100 employees + family we rent the entire place for a 4 day weekend. I always stay in the cottages since we bring our dogs and it is pet friendly. There is an RV area to the north with walking path to the pool. There are cottages to the north and south of the high rise building. The cottages have a kitchenette, some have couches and some even have living rooms. They are all small and very old in there layout so things do get cramped in the bathroom. There is a pool but no hot tub. Plenty of grass areas for the dogs and bags for pickup. The beach does not allow driving at this area so the kids can run free without worry of getting hit on the beach. You can walk 1.6 mils south to Starbucks if you have but there are smaller hidden gems north in less than a mile for food and even a nearby Publix. The hotel staff has always been great and love the dogs as well. You can rent cabanas and chairs for the beach and there is a laundry room if you need one when you are staying. read more

So far on our trip this has been our favorite RV Park. It's small, was very quiet, we had great neighbors, the staff was exceptionally friendly, the WIFI worked great and most importantly we were just steps from the beach! There was a constant cool breeze and the stars were brilliant at night. Wished our itinerary allowed us to stay longer. Coral Sands seems like a normal, older beach hotel, nice big tower, side cottages and even an RV park. It is a normal older, well kept hotel. But Coral Sands has no kitchen equipment. They do not want to do housekeeping when you stay for a week, citing "Covid". All the other hotels in the area offer stocked kitchen equipment and housekeeping so why don't they? Its in a nice area so I don't get why they can't offer things people need. Also black mold on ceilings in many rooms, if you complain about it they come spray it with bleach so the mold goes away for a few days. read more

I've stayed here a time or two. Or three. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, everything I could look for in a hotel. The grounds, on the other hand, are not. Parking does not meet the capacity of the hotel, so guests are frequently found parking in the grass along the road or an adjacent parking lot belonging to an insurance company. If you can stomach that, however, you'll find a nice albeit dated building with friendly staff, an excellent pool, and a beachfront that lacks the overcrowding so rampant further down the shoreline. read more

This resort proved to us this is how you can ruin a business with poor management. All stairs were full of cockroaches and other small bugs. Room was very big enough but bathroom has not been taken care of may be over years. When you use sink, water wasn't going to drain due to slope of sink counter. Rooms were full of humidity. This is a great little place, especially for the price I paid. It's an older building, but you can tell they take good care of the property, compared to some places I've been. Rooms are very cute and clean. Libby the housekeeper is VERY nice! Oceanfront with easy beach access. They may not have the major amenities that a lot of places do, but if you're a person that's pretty organized and good on your own like I am, this place is really great. I stayed in the high rise, but may go for a cottage next time. My only complaints: Parking was pretty full (but there was an event so I'm not too worried about it). The hotel soap though? Steer. Clear. if you've got any kind of sensitivities. Their soap smells very chemical-y and did not end well for me. read more

We had a great stay here on a recent weekend before New Year's. The room was clean and the guests on either side were quiet. We paid $120 per night via Orbitz. Each room faces the beach with enough of a sight line where you're not looking at your neighbor. Its five floors and we were on the fifth. One of the two elevators was not working but we were fine. Although the hotel supposedly doesn't allow pets we saw two guests with dogs that obviously were not medical assist dogs. It's right on the beach and two miles north of Granada Blvd. so it's pretty quiet and there's a Publix a quarter mile away. No bars or anything on the beach for miles, which is just what we wanted. There is also no driving on north Ormond Beach which made it even more attractive. It's a ten or fifteen minute drive south to restaurants and gift shops if you like, otherwise you could make do without ever driving out of the parking lot. My only complaint is that the bathrooms are small and no exhaust fan so it can get a little steamy. No breakfast or bar attached to the hotel. They offer coffee and are available 24/7, which is nice. All in all we'll be back again and bring the kids next time. The beach is beautiful with fine light colored sand and at low tide you've got an extra fifty yards of beach to play on. Well worth it and the tiki torches at night are a great touch. read more
