I travel every few months for work, and have been working with a trainer for the past year. It's…read morebeen hit or miss, and I'm lucky to have found the Strongroom and Artie. Workouts are creative, never boring and tailored for my personal needs. Artie knows what's working and what isn't before I even need to mention it, and will modify to a way that works for me. He knows when to push you through something that you can physically do, but just hate doing because it's "hard"; however, will change it up if it's something that just isn't working. The only body part that doesn't get a workout would be my eyes, since I had no need to roll them because there's no lectures or judgement here. The strongroom itself is a great facility, not like a big box gym - well taken care of and clean. Easy to get to and never had issues finding a place to park (this coming from someone who cannot parallel park, and could still find a spot). Next time I find myself in the area, I'll be sure to book a session with Artie at the Strongroom...and you should too!

The Strongroom is a South Philly best kept secret. Artie is really the best, best, best. I have legit abs now. He will push you to your absolute max, but in the nicest, kindest, most encouraging way. He is always observing you and correcting your form, modifying or changing the intensity of the move to make it as effective as possible. Honestly, if you are going to anywhere else I think you're wasting your money.

Helped me change my bad experience into a good one. Great job management team!…read more They were quick and efficient.

Skip Leg Day, and Skip This Gym…read more Fusion Gym South Philly has potential in the same way a condemned building has "good bones." I was a member for a year. During that time, I never once found a working locker. For four months, nearly every lock was broken. When I asked staff, they said it was getting fixed. When I complained on Instagram, I was blocked. Repairs happen on a bizarre schedule. One day during peak hours, someone in a welding mask was using a blowtorch to solder the leg extension machine behind a single strand of caution tape. Sparks were flying, it smelled like molten regret, and I wasn't sure whether to finish my workout or file a mesothelioma claim. The locker room smells like a foot--the kind a Civil War barber-surgeon would immediately amputate. I would rather eat unsanitary street food than shower there. The humidity is intense, and the cleaning approach is laughable: one bucket of dirty mop water gets dragged across what feels like 20,000 square feet of gym floor. Are they rationing soap? Most members keep to themselves, but about one in ten act like they escaped auditions for a VH1 celebrity dating show. One regular in a crop top hoards three machines to do some kind of punching-based oblique workout. If you try to work in, he treats it like an act of war. Others proudly wear MAGA or "Atilis Gym" merch, radiating main-character energy no one asked for. There is no lunk alarm, no enforcement, and no gym etiquette. It's Bizarro Planet Fitness--a chaotic mirror version where weight-slamming is constant and common sense goes out the window. If there were a basketball court, people would probably be doing Snake Plissken shot clock drills in ski goggles. I even showed up in the background of a TikTok rant for using the hip thrust machine during someone's filming session. There's nothing wrong with a man trying to work his way out of a flat butt. The music is offensively loud. Despite wearing noise-canceling headphones and partial hearing loss, I could still make out every word of Kanye and Drake. There's an entire cardio section that stays empty because it sits under the loudest speaker in the city. The staff and trainers seem burnt out and disengaged. When I tried to cancel my membership, I was given three different answers across three calls. One person told me to call an 800 number. Another told me to wait until the end of the week. The third said it was canceled but to double-check with ABC Fitness. I gave up and emailed them myself. No one seemed to have the same answer twice. Final verdict: like skipping leg day, skip this gym. Your lungs, ears, and sanity will thank you.

I also appreciate that they all clean up after themselves and disinfect their workout equipment after every use..always!!! All the employees are excellent in customer service and will go out their way to assist you! It's a gym not a nightclub ‍. For this I'm very thankful !! Happy member!

Located on the side of Cedarbrook Plaza shopping center it was previously LA Fitness, that moved to Greenleaf at Cheltenham Shopping Center. There is lots of free parking. They must of gutted the whole place, cause it's brand spankin new! I'm a picture taker, but didn't want to look like a stalker taking pictures of everything. People might think I'm taking their picture while working out :/ but I managed to get a few shots of the gym :) I didn't ask management to help me figure out the equipment, just did the best I could, even though they were very nice and friendly. Lots of ellipticals, treadmills, weights, bikes. abd & stretch etc... Haven't tried it yet, but they have hydromassage rooms for those sore spots. Also beautiful new shower stalls and bathrooms. Everything was nice and clean! I am really impressed with this gym! For the price, you can't beat it!

Recently hosted a bridal shower in the banquet room. Bride requested this location…read more First and foremost the server taking care of us was lovely, super accommodating and took great care of us!! The space was beautiful. Didn't make a stink the day of because our server was so kind and we had such a great day, but if you're looking to plan an event there are definitely things you should be made aware of. Planning and preparing for the event with the event coordinator was a bit of a pain and that pain continued into the event itself. Communication was not great, emails taking days or weeks to respond and can't get anyone on the phone. We had to reschedule a meeting due to a medical issue on her part (which was totally fine) but there was no communication on the clubs end of things (even after I called the day of the meeting and was told someone would be getting back to me, no one did). We later had to reschedule another meeting which was this time my fault. The week of, after requesting it, I was sent the invoice for the event. The invoice was not accurate so I asked for it to be adjusted and was told it would be sent back.. it wasn't. Day of the shower one of the bridesmaids was first to arrive and the coordinator did not bother to show her to the room or say hello, introduce herself, nothing. During the shower there was not lemonade and iced tea on the tables as I had discussed with the coordinator. We get to the start of food and I notice after everyone has already eaten that the rolls and butter were never put out, the waitress says she wasn't told and scrambles to find us rolls and butter. When planning with the coordinator, we discussed doing a mimosa bar for the purpose of cutting cost on a full bar and bartender, she failed to tell me that the champagne bottles they sell are $45 a bottle, it was NOT cheaper than doing a full bar. All in all for the cost of the venue ($600 room rental plus food and beverage plus a 20% gratuity on the ENTIRE bill, not just food and bev) there are DEFINITELY better places to host your event. It's a shame because the event space is beautiful, but it seems as though the event coordination is lacking tremendously. I wish I would have read more reviews before booking because it seems as though these aren't new issues.

A QR code was provided to report problems, however it never worked. Now I know why. Recently, the gym was renovated and spin classes abruptly removed from this location without notice. Literally, while in class the GM made the announcement that spin classes were done effective immediately! CRUNCH management made a huge mistake by cancelling this popular class leaving loyal members scrambling for answers and another gym. Our collective complaints were met with a weak apology and incredulous response that "spin class is off brand for this location". CRUNCH flippantly suggested that we "take other exercise classes." To add insult to injury, I discovered that CRUNCH deducted money from my bank account the day before knowing that this service would not be continued. Therefore, I had to contact my bank and file a fraud charge dispute. Kudos to the exceptional spin instructors (Mayra, Nikita, & Donna, who sadly were NOT informed about the program cancellation. UNACCEPTABLE!! Get it together CRUNCH! That's no way to treat dues paying members or dedicated employees!
