They also fix consoles, so if your X-box 360 has suffered from the dreaded red-eye, they might be able to fix it for you. I got mine done at a great price, so many of my people I know have just chucked there's away when the red eye occurs but when guys, like at Rj media, can fix it for you at a very reasonable price I don't see the logic! Quite a specialist store, you wouldn't just pop in unless you had a fixed thing you were after, be it product or service. The stock is limited but enough for what your standerd computer user would need.

For a couple of quid I supply my ravenous Epsom printer with enough ink to keep it satisfied for a couple of months. When I first started buying cartridges here the RRP for the Epsom equivalent was £25!**!?*?*?! Apparently they also do cartridges for the modern Epsoms that have copiers and scanners integrated into the printer. Again, these are only around the two pound mark instead of something in excess of £30 if you buy the Epsom cartridge. Don't you just love 'em? I do! I have also bought a few plug compatible consumables here that work okay. I even bought a Skype handset for £20 that I never got round to using. I eventually replaced my Vaio with a Mac and so don't need it any more. Any takers? Not only does RJ Media save you loads of cash, but they are also incredibly helpful. They know their stuff and are more than willing to share it with you. Additional advice offered over the years has again saved me money on other items. During my recent visit they have advised me on which new printer to buy, explaining the features and benefits, as well as telling me which models they support with their compatible media. I have never had anything fixed here, but I'm sure that they'd do a good job without charging the earth. Somewhat curiously they also stock Extreme Nutrition, food supplement powders for body builders. Why? It seems so incongruous in a computer repair shop! But, mine is not to reason why, all I must do is look and buy!

This is a pretty vast electrical shop located on a side road off Gloucester Road. By the looks of…read moreit, it looks like it used to be some sort of Church which gives you an idea of how big it is! To be honest, it's hard to say exactly what they sell. It's pretty much everything electrical, ranging from ovens, fridges and washing machines to small appliances such as kettles, toasters and hair dryers. All of which are available to view at their showroom. The company has been family run for 25 years and they are really helpful and friendly. It is nice to actually have a conversation with someone in one of these shops without being bombarded with technical information and being pressurised to buy something. Prices are marginally higher than Curry's Digital, but you are getting a much more personal service. Bonus: they have heaps of off road parking (which if you are familiar with Gloucester Road is a real selling point!).

I certainly wouldn't usually consider buying spares or having anything repaired here. I'm far too fond of Bobs Best Electricals and Beacon Electronics to willingly take my trade anywhere else. If it weren't for the recommendation I'd been given by the chap from Bristol Tools, who suggested that I try Nailsea Electrical to see if they stocked belts for my old Hotpoint Twin Tub, then I would never have thought to pay them a visit. He of course, suggested that I tried Bob's Best and Beacon first, but I explained that I'd phoned them both already, and neither one of them had anything in stock. Sharing the same level of reservation that I had, he gingerly suggested going to Nailsea Electrical, on the basis that I had nothing to lose. Ben dealt efficiently with my enquiry, and quickly told me that Nailsea Electrical never keep old items like this is stock on the grounds that there is very little call for it. Consulting a large catalogue he continued by saying that they no longer made the belt that I was looking for. He broke the news apologetically and then turned his gaze back to the catalogue. Stabbing at the page with his index finger in a triumphant gesture he announced, "but this'll do it". He said it with such conviction that I was instantly convinced he was right, and so I ordered it on the spot. A few days later I got a call from the shop to tell me that it had arrived, and I called in a couple of days later to collect. I've been washing non-stop ever since!

Perhaps it is a world I don't know much about; an industry with which I am not acquainted. The…read moreworld of unlocking mobile phones, regardless, has always confused me. When a phone is locked would one not assume it is the result of a little foul play? True, one may have forgotten their PIN number a few times but this slight and easily avoidable error would have to occur many times to necessitate the opening of an entire shop. In the event, nonetheless, of having locked your phone or needing a new SIM this handy place on Stokes Croft, I am sure, can help out. Admittedly on the one occasion I have gone to this shop looking for a phone the gentleman told me I'd be better going to Tesco where it's cheaper. This, in my opinion, reflects the good man's honesty. This is a business that is very much a service centre. They advertise services that if you want you'll go in for and if you don't you'll just carry on by.

The last four years have definitely tested him in every conceivable way! I have recently been back in touch with Tony about a cracked iPhone screen. Yes, i broke mine too! I had been quoted silly money to get it fixed; originally a whopping £180, and subsequently £120, and £100. The latter quote is from a great little indie mobile phone shop in Weston-Super-Mare, called Phone Tek Nation, but they don't always have the parts, and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. They said they'd contact me when the new iPhone supplies arrived. This was over a week ago, and they had already been waiting a further week since the order. So either Apple can't produce enough spares for these darned fragile bits of kit, or else I've been lost amid a sea of other iPhone users that have also dropped their phones.... I'm glad I thought to call Unlock It, because guess what? As always, the price I've been quoted beats all the rest by a mile!! He has quoted me £69.00!!! This is Tony's forte! he beats everyone on price and gets the job done. By the way, it was Abri at Tudor Mobile Services that put me onto Phone Tek Nation as he doesn't presently service iPhones, and knew I needed a quick fix. He's also in Weston, in the lovely Tudor Mall, opposite Lloyds TSB, and works with most models of phones, keeping the price extremely competitive.

It's really small in here, but there is no real need for a big shop I guess. They offered to fix the problem themselves but were a little hazy when it came to telling me how much it would set me back. Since MCS is across the road I decided to give them a try to see if they could solve the problem- after all, that's what they do. I felt a bit unsteady though. I was the only person in the shop and there were 5 men just staring at me, not saying anything. They were probably laughing at how pathetic I was in not knowing the ins and outs of computer management, but it was enough to put me off going back there again. After investigating my laptop, the man said in a very brief and incoherent manner what the problem was. When I asked how much it would cost to fix it they gave an indefinite answer and then proceeded to tell me other things that were wrong with the laptop. The next day I went to the uni help desk and the problem was sorted in an hour, free of charge.
