I was able to rectify this late last year when my boss and I were planning a department work event. My coworkers live/work across the country, and the man office is in Van Wert. Every year we do a week of meetings here, and have events afterwards. My boss had the idea to try out Olympic Lanes and have a bowling event, he asked me to go talk to management, get some quotes and check the place out. I liked what I saw. The staff was friendly, the bowling alley was in great shape and it had a very nice and well stocked bar area. I spoke with the owner and she made it so easy to set up this event and for a great price. We got two games on two lanes, drinks, pizza, wings. The night of the event, we all started with having some drinks at the bar, while waiting for everyone to get in. We then had a fun night of bowling, talking, drinking, laughing and catching up with each other in person. I have to thank the staff of Olympic Lanes for making this happen. I have since returned to have some drinks here because the bar is well stocked, service is great, prices are reasonable, food is good. I love this place! If you are in the area and: 1) Want to have a drink at a friendly neighborhood bar 2) Want good pizza, wings and other bar food 3) Want to have some fun bowling with friends or family 4) Have an entertaining corporate/company event with no stress Then you should definitely come to Olympic Lanes!

There were plenty of open lanes, I had a great selection of shoes and there was so little noise you could literally hear a pin drop. My only complaint is that the place seemed understaffed and there really wasn't enough light in the building to see my ball roll down the lane. I felt very safe when I looked around the building and saw not just 1 but nearly 20 police officers on duty protecting us from the various threats of Columbia City like rioting, street gangs, Isis, and many others. After our second game, we saw what we thought was the mystery machine from scooby doo pull up outside. But instead of a couple of awkward teenagers and a talking dog, a bunch of black storm troopers hopped out of the back. I kind of like Star Wars so I wasn't really complaining. It was kind of cool to see the reenactments in person and I'm really surprised the bowling alley of such low, fair price could afford a Star Wars reenactment right before the big premier of the new movie this year. The performance even ended with a life sized R2D2 that actually roamed around on its own! SO COOL! Overall my experience was something I'll never forget. I've never had so much fun on a memorial Monday before! 5/5!

Everything is sooooooo CLEAN. The atmosphere is nothing like back in the day. It's not dark with flashing lights and music blaring so loud you can't hear yourself think. (Don't get me wrong, I loved that as a teenager.) It's bright and welcoming. There is music playing, but it's not out of control loud. We had such a good time here. The food is really good too!!! They could careless that we were there and that we were paying customers. I mentioned the mangers name that had been there years before and they came back with rude remarks and when I worked here and if the owners would of heard what I said and how I said it I would of been fired! The fall of 2022-23, we thought we would try them one more time. We were treated like we were the worse people. My grandsons were disappointed as they had aways enjoyed bowling here but they don't want to come to a place where they are treated so badly.
