2 Eggs & Sausage

A 3 & 1/2 only because of the OVERT RACISM OF A STAFF MEMBER! First the bad: We know this is an election year, however whatever your political affiliation, upbringing, etc., your place of employment is NOT the place for you to show your disdain for people of color. At the time of our arrival the restaurant received what appeared to be an overwhelming amount of customers waiting to be seated. You would think this was a good thing right? The wait for a table was not long though. As parties were seated, others advanced in line. In front of us was a party of 6, then 3-4, next us. BEHIND us was a party of 1 then 5-6. One particular blonde hair older woman proceeded to tell the parties in front of us she would seat them next then she told the party of 5-6 BEHIND us she would seat them next. Before my husband and son could voice an (angry) objection a woman from the party behind us said "they were here first". OMG! We were the only people of color in the place so how could she "overlook" us? The front waiting area was extremely small as well. Racism at its finest!!! Not appropriate at all. The good: After we were seated our server was amazing! She was very attentive and made sure our orders were made right. I'm grateful for the younger generation because they don't have a stick shoved up their backsides and are simply doing their jobs. I wish I had her name because I think she was genuine in her work ethics. The food was delicious and we left satisfied with our meals. To People of color don't accept the rudeness of one staff and the unmerited stares of others deter you from this place. I'd eat here again. PS: OHIO STATE BEAT THE NITTANY LIONS! Go Bucks!

Great breakfast that tastes like my mom cooked. This is great spot to grab a quick bite leave feeling full. Service was fast and friendly. Next time I'm in town, I'll be back!

Me on life support

The food made me shat my pants and made me go to the ER because the food was so greasy. The bathrooms are horrible poop stains all over the walls. Then the waiters had the audacity to call me a monkey and then served me bananas. Then one of my family members farted so hard that all of the dust in this crusty musty restaurant blew everywhere. Now because of your undercooked eggs most of my family is on life support!!! After all of that the staff had an aneurism and started to flop all over the floors DO NOT EAT HERE IT IS A LIVING HELL!!!!!!

Best breakfast in this town. Great coffee. Service is so-so, but it's a diner type atmosphere, so I can live with it.

We stopped at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub on our way home last night and they did not disappoint!…read more They're known for their world record burgers and many of them sounded really good. But I was intrigued by the burnt turkey ends with maple waffle fries and maple turkey gravy and cheese curds I also ordered a bowl of chili and lemme tell ya - it was some of the best chili I've ever had! Now, the turkey ends... Wow, that plate was DELICIOUS I don't know how they make maple waffle fries, but they need to become a thing. The maple turkey gravy was rich and salty and sweet. The cheese curds were creamy and melty and added texture and flavor. I'm blaming it on the 16oz of beer and the bowl of amazing chili... But I tapped out halfway through haha! One of the most interesting and tasty meals I've had in a long time. I'm going to see how they heat up in the air fryer, for breakfast. Should you find yourself on I-80 in western PA, definitely plan to stop at Denny's Beer Barrel... But you better be ready to eat!

Very solid pub in Clearfield with a wide menu and plenty of different options although the claim to…read morefame are their burgers. We came to try the 2 pounder challenge (2 lbs AFTER cooking plus the toppings and bun), which I demolished in 30 min or so (you get an hour and if you finish you get a shirt, your name and finish time on a plaque in their Hall of Fame, and 50% off the burger itself). The burger itself was quite solid - juicy and tender without any seasoning so you can add your toppings. Be sure to grab a side of the fries (I prefer the crinkle-cut sweet potato), a milkshake or beer, and maybe a taco. It's no frills but a nice lowkey option that has a blend of visitors and locals.

Stopped here while making our way to Buffalo, NY. A quick search of Yelp showed that everything in…read morethis town is a diner, so we randomly chose American Diner as our lunch spot. It's not much to look at from the outside, and the interior is about the same. Upon entering, we definitely got the "local vibe." It didn't feel like You-Don't-Belong-Here. It felt more like You-Aren't-From-Here. Not unfriendly, just an acknowledgement that we were strangers. Seating was tight so the 5 of us added an extra chair to a booth meant for 4. Our server was pleasant. The ladies room was super clean and very nice, but Big Daddy said the men's room left a lot to be desired. Our food came out hot. The burgers were so-so. Definitely not the best I've ever eaten. But the fries were good, so that helped make up for it. Big Daddy really enjoyed his fish & chips, and Kid #2 said the chipped beef gravy was delicious. We probably would try someplace different if we were traveling through again, but overall it was pretty good.

This place is well named. It is what comes to mind when you think of the classic American Diner. It…read moreis a haven for comfort food. From the simplicity of the edifice to the no-frills, hometown, 1960's appearance of the dining room, this place is a throwback...in a good way. We stopped here because it was on our route. It looked like a good, solid choice based on the description and the reviews. And it looked like a choice that was not too expensive. The location was truly what you could term "roadside" on US 322, because it was indeed right next to the road. The exterior appearance was certainly not elegant, but the building was in good shape. The interior was a bit cozy, and the layout was significantly wider than it was deep as you would expect with a small, hometown diner. The decor and furnishings were simple, though certainly adequate. We were seated right away. The service was very good as our server attended to us right away. She was very efficient and our food was delivered rather quickly after our order. The menu offered classic mid-Atlantic American comfort fare. Items such as burgers, a variety of sandwiches, pork chops, baked ham and liver and onions were featured. My wife opted for a simple BLT accompanied by chips, which was quite good. I chose the Baked Fish with mashed potatoes and a starter salad. We're both watching calories and these were great options for that. The value was excellent. The final bill with food, tax and tip (we had water to drink) was $13.00 per person. I would try this place again if circumstances allow.

I was looking for a place with a hearty vegan option half-way between Toledo and New York City…read morewithout going too far off the highway and it seemed like Station 101 would fit the bill- a Black Bean Burger made in house, some tasty nacho options, and I even called ahead to confirm we could get a hearty vegan option, and confirmed it was! Yay! Unfortunately, when we arrived, the last Bean Burger had been sold and the black beans listed as a side were actually cooked in some heavy butter... so it became one of those stops where only French fries were the hot vegan option... because who wants a cold salad when it's 20°F?! In any case, the server was very nice about it and the Craft Beer was still vegan, and because we called ahead about the vegan burger option, they even comped the fries for running out. So- disappointed it wasn't as hearty as we hoped for a vegan on our arrival- but very kind to apologize with comped fries. For those who weren't vegan- the French Dip on ciabatta was on special and sooooo good. I don't like horseradish and it didn't overwhelm the flavor, so it was absolutely perfect! The pulled pork melt with crispy fried onions and bbq sauce was also excellent with a very crunchy buttered thick Texas toast bread. Excellent food when it's available- and hoping for a few more vegan options because Pennsylvania towns are a bit of slim pickings if you don't want to eat animal products!
