I love the Spanish Inn, in part because it was my Grandmother's favorite restaurant and I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. :) But also, because I'm a big proponent of Tex-Mex as its own regional cuisine, and this IS Tex-Mex. (It's not interior Mexican, it's not Cali-Mex, it's based on the region where it was born. Hate to see people "hate on it" because of that.) My daughter and I stopped in for some delicious (unnecessary, lol) cincos nachos and two Spanish Inn Specials. The Men's Special was always Grandmother's favorite and the only difference between the two is the chalupa, the SI Special features a guacamole chalupa (which is STUPID good) where the Men's has a beef, bean & cheese chalupa. We were going light, I guess. ;) Both the green beef enchilada and beef & cheese relleno were on point. The enchilada's green sauce is a bit different than most, with a great pronounced tomatillo tang, and their rellenos are my favorite type - breaded & fried, not egg-wrapped. Really, really good. And their tacos are so good (if sometimes a little over-fried), they do them dorados style, where they're stuffed with beef then deep fried. I love them! The table salsa has never been my favorite, but it'll do, and seems better than in the past, tbh. And it's so good drizzled into the tacos. But finally, the quiet, unassuming star of the plate... the guac chalupa? HOW is this thing that good? Both my daughter and I were stuffed, but kept going back for one more bite of the chalupa. I don't get it. But you should. I am a huge fan and will be for life. read more

The food an service was great no complaints on on the food the servers where so nice the only problem was the sweet tea was a little sour

If you like Mexican food you'll Love this resturant. Service is the best. I live in Snyder, Tx and eat there regularly. Lots of parking. Take out is great. read more

Had some of the best chile rellenos!!! Food was hot when it arrived at the table, which is something I am really picky about...Loved it

You know that old saying "If you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all"? Ummm Yeah, I'm gonna toss some of that out the window for a minute. Now, I knew should have checked the Yelp reviews before going into this place but the parking lot was packed when I drove by on my way to get a hotel room so I came back for dinner afterwards. Immediately after entering the door and being greeted, I wasn't instilled with any confidence about my decision to eat here. It took the waitress about 3-4 minutes tops to take my drink order. She asked if I wanted chips and what type of hot sauce so I told her the hottest they have. She brought back my water with lemons, a basket of semi-stale chips (they weren't very crisp). The hot sauce was really good though so I thought to myself maybe it won't be so bad. WRONG!!! After about ten minutes she finishes talking with someone she was familiar with at a table behind me and asks me what I wanted to order. I chose beef fajitas with corn tortillas. She asked if I wanted rice or beans. I said both to which I was informed it would be an additional $1; I said that's ok I don't mind. She refilled my hot sauce and this time it wasn't as good as the first. It had the consistency or texture of ketchup mixed with a can of Rotel; definitely was not the same. After a while she brought me the plate of fajitas and a knife but no tortillas, fork or napkins. She said to me she was going to get my tortillas and I watched her walk to the kitchen, tell them she needed tortillas and then back to the table to chat with her friends. Meanwhile I am just sitting there with no fork to eat my food so I used chips to scoop up some beans and rice which were not awesome and what few bites I took of them were the last. I wouldn't feed the beans and rice to dog!!! I sat there contemplating just walking out and not eating there. I heard another waitress tell her that the kitchen wanted her so she left her friends' table, went up to the window and brought back my tortillas at which time I informed her that I still didn't have a fork or napkins. There was no apology for the oversight but she did bring them to me along with a small bowl of extra lemons and more water which was sort of redeeming for her. The fajita meat was seasoned well but was not cut in strips just odd chunks. The peppers and onions were not cooked as much as most restaurants do for fajitas. There was no shredded cheese but there was pico de gallo and guacamole. Neither of which were that great. The food here was mediocre to below average and the service really lousy. I honestly have no idea why anyone would give this place 5 stars unless they are just used to eating slop! Don't waste your time or money on this place. If there's an award for the ABSOLUTE WORST MEXICAN FOOD in Texas, I nominate this joint. read more

Spanish Inn - Sloppy fajitas. Anyone giving this place 5 stars is not very intelligent IMO. - Mexican Near Me - Snyder, Texas

Everything was okay, nothing exciting nothing bad but okay. I would go again considering the options in the area.

We visit the Spanish Inn every time we are in the area. Great food and friendly staff! This is a family owned business and you can tell they take pride in their craft. The dining area is always clean and the bathrooms are squeaky clean as well. No complaints here. If your in the area swing by and gitcha' sum grub! read more

I like their chile rellenos and their steaks that they only serve on Fridays are good. When you order your steak though, order it cooked more than usual. I like my steaks medium to medium rare but when I go here I order mine medium-well instead because I usually have to send it back for being too rare. Just a heads up. read more

this restaurant is usually very good but this pass weekend was very disappointing. took 30 to 40 minutes to get our food and the food was not good. server told us that there was only one cook in the kitchen. this was the Western Swing Festival and you only had one cook, really. do better read more

Exactly what west Texas Mexican food should be. Relleno, green enchiladas, taco...all spot on! read more

TERRIBLE! Do not waste your time or money. Unless you like watered down ketchup for salsa, or mushy over-salted rice, or a mountain of refried beans, or tasteless queso that was more like Campbell's Cheddar Cheese Soup. We paid with a credit card and were charged a "non-cash adjustment" with no warning. We waited way too long for everything. The waitress was very apologetic but her apologies fell on deaf ears after so many. read more

My enchiladas were average--not very memorable. As one of the other reviewers stated, the rice was some of the worst Mexican rice I've had in any restaurant. Refried beans were delicious. My wife didn't care much for what she had. The salsa that came with the chips before the meal was atrocious. Worst part was the service. This is one of the most joyless places my wife and I have ever visited. No one smiled. They all seemed like working there was the most miserable experience they'd ever had. I can imagine why. There was a lady who appeared to be in charge who I observed barking orders at employees on multiple occasions. One of them reacted to her by throwing a menu on the floor and stomping off in a fit. I observed the hostess in seating the guests would ask, "How many?" Then, she would lead guests to the table, plop down their menus, and walk away before the guests even arrived at the table. No other word was offered, such as, "Your waitress will be right with you," etc. This sort of unfriendly attitude permeated the business. Our waitress left our table for long stretches at a time. When she did come by, she was prompt to meet our requests and was very helpful. It's just that we hardly got her attention during the visit. Our chip bowl went empty at one point. The food took excessively long to prepare. I sat around for about 20 minutes with an empty water glass and waiting for the check. Our waitress visited a neighboring table at least four times before ever coming to ours. We won't be back any time soon. read more

Family started this restaurant in the 1970's, and they use Grandma Dot's recipes going back to the original spot in Big Spring in the 1940's. Bar in the back is a speakeasy for local characters and minor celebrities. The food is always good, easily the best burger and best steak in town. Don't be afraid to order off menu. You might get Chilean Sea Bass or turkey and dressing. read more

The food wasn't so bad they nickel and dime the crap out of you. You have to pay $1.75 for a basket of chips after the first and with a family of 5 with 4 boys they go fast. The sodas are $2.00 and they only refill it once. If you want rice and beans with your entree it's an extra $2. Oh and no substitutions so even if you don't want the sauce on the enchiladas but the side no can do. The food wasn't as good for all the extras you pay. Will not be returning. read more

I know, I know "You live in Austin, why the hell are you reviewing a restaurant in La Jolla followed one in SNYDER, Texas?" If you are ever driving from Austin to Colorado, you drive past the little quaint town in West Texas that was once the largest producing oil city in the US. There is actually a gold pump jack right off the road that represents some massive amount of oil produced in one day. Now you understand why I am reviewing this place, not apologies needed. ;) Spanish Inn is the local tex-mex joint and it is really really good. The building is old and the decorations are about as far from Chuy's as you can possibly get, but the food is really good and fresh. Try the fajitas and make sure you get a side order of their rice, it is killer. Back to Austin now, I promise. read more

Yo, this place sucked. Me and my brother are from out of town, but only by two hours so we aren't ignorant to good Mexican food, wanted some Tex mex, and got a Taco Bell fart instead. We ordered Queso, and got some concession stand, put it in a Doritos bag, bulk cheese. I'm assuming the service sucked because the waitress is picking up the slack from the host who was laying down and spitting some game to one of the waitress' when we walked in. Salsa: terrible Tortillas: not fresh, packaged and microwaved. Rice: tasted like new tires Beans: PIPING hot, couldn't touch the bowl(microwaved) Chicken Fajitas: thawed in a microwave before being cooked and rubbery. Fajita veggies: raw and warm The waitress saw we hadn't really touched the food at all, and asked if everything was ok. We told her it wasn't a big deal, but we could tell that obviously everything was microwaved. Still tipped though. So.. nothing personal. Lol Keyboard warrior, out. read more

Spanish Inn - Mexican Near Me - Snyder, Texas

After getting a tip from workers at the Snyder Cemetery, my mother and I visited for lunch. I had a combination plate with a taco, cheese enchilada, and chile relleno and my mother had a taco a'la carte. All items were served hot, fresh, and were delicious. I am not a huge beans/rice fan but don't recall them standing out - good OR bad. Dessert sopas were a tasty end to a satisfying meal. Next time we are in Snyder, we will be back! read more

Horrible!! This is all mexician food from a can. From the cheez whiz dip to the soggy rice. This place claims to have authentic but it's far from it. Went based on reviews and regretted it once we saw the plate. read more

Green beef enchiladas, crispy beef tacos and Hatch chile relleno. None better anywhere. Always quick service.

The service is alright. The beans are always dried up, and the rice is always mushy. I have been here about 6 times and it's always like that. Fajitas and cheese enchiladas are good. Not the best Mexican food in snyder. read more

This is the single worst restaurant I've ever been to. I was waiting at the door for 5 minutes, waiting to be seated. Then the woman behind the cashier apparently got upset at a costumer and stared to cuss at her extremely loud, then stomped out of the place. After this, I saw a woman proceed to touch her hair continuously and serve food. This place is too crowded, loud, and hot. You can hear the waitresses converse very loudly, and vulgarly behind the wall. I hate this place! read more

Decent food. Not anything compared to good Mexican food of southern California. But nice atmosphere.

I ordered the red beef burritos. Added the beans and rice sides. One beef burrito was beef and the other two were cheese with some beef. I sent them back Soon a gentleman came back with the meal and said his beef burritos have some cheese. No sense arguing as the two cheese burritos did have about 20 percent beef. I do not like cheese. No sense in discussing this with him. I expected a beef burrito to have beef. Eat the one beef and could not get past the taste of the beans and rice. We will not return. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE their food. Best crispy tacos, amazing chili con queso, enchiladas are AMAZING their salsa is great too!! If you want a spicier salsa ask for the Hot Hot salsa. Always delicious! Love the cincos! Guacamole is always the best!

The food is not even edible! The only acceptable item was the soda. The "queso" dip tasted like it was just out of a can and halfway warmed up. The enchiladas had a bitter taste, I have no idea what could possibility make them bitter, but they managed to ruin that too. read more

Never been here before. Won't come back. The staff seems interrupted when walking in for seating, or asking for more water. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. After my food came out inedible and the rest of my party ate and finished, my plate was full of food because it was so over cooked. I will not be returning, and I suggest yo choose another place to eat. read more

My absolute favorite! Can't come to Snyder without stopping by for green beef enchiladas.

i grew up in snyder and the food here still hasnt changed. it is as bad as i remember it. I was just here and every thing was dry, over salted and stale. the ground beef on my plate was dry and obviously re-cooked a couple of times. the beans smelled kinda burned and the rice was mush. I'm hispanic and know what mexican food should taste, look, and smell like. this is not it. my daughter didnt eat her food either. after sending it back, the waitress said she would "let them know and see what they wanted to do" she brought me the bill for the full amount. just as sorry as always. i guess some things do never change im clicking one star only because this review wont post unless you click something read more

After a decade I thought I'd give this place another try - just maybe the food had improved. wrong!! Food is still just as horrible as it's always been. Beans were dry & tasted burned, rice was mushy, queso was nasty. The "great" margaritas had no tequila and were made with cheap bottled margarita mix thrown in a blender with some ice. I wish a real tex-mex restaurant would open and run this place out of business. read more

Best Mexican food in Snyder, best food in Snyder period. The owners are like family and treat you great. The streaks have the best flavor, you can cut the chicken fried steak with a fork.
