This made the space quite comfortable yet elegant at the same time. Service was attentive without it being overbearing--helpful with the dish selection as well. We thought the dishes were great from start to finish. The burrata was creamy, complimented by the tart and sweet grilled peach while being cut by the savory cured meats. I ordered the lamb medium-rare and really enjoyed how it was prepared, and the pasta dishes similarly turned out delicious. We felt like the presentation of the dishes were very thoughtful on top of its great taste. Both desserts were a necessary closing of the meal--the creaminess of the tiramisu and panna cotta was not overbearing and helped highlight the respective flavors of coffee and fruit in these desserts!

La Cucina Italiana Review on 2017.5.16…read more This is my second visit of this restaurant. I had no memory what I ordered last time, but I had great memory of it. The complimentary starters were two sauces with baguette, one was tomato onion garlic with vinegar and one was garlic pickle salt vinegar from guessing. I could eat it whole night just that. For starter, we had Proscuitto Melone with a very slim slice of soft bread. The melone was very sweet. I had to wonder where was the country of origin. The prosciutto was good. It had less fat than those from my Italian friend. I dont think it was any special to eat them together. For pizza, we ordered Napolitan Style, Seafood, and Assorted Mushroom Pizza. Definitely one of the best in HK. " Pizza Expression " was a joke compare to it. All pizza was made very thin and crunchy, full of topping. I would recommend Seafood Pizza out of all three. I loved their noodle and rice. We had Seafood Spaghetti, Spwaghetti with Clams and White Wine Sauce, Risotto with Asserted Mushroom, and Cannelone. They had the Rice and spaghetti a bit hard like the way Italian would. Both seafood and clam spaghetti were very delicious. Cannelone was pasta roll. ( it is like Tortellini) inside have good balance of good Ricotta Cheese and spinach. The environment was a bit dark, but overall was a comfy place with italian garden feel. Other fact i like this resturant was that they really had many dishes to pick. For the service be expected lack of staff, i wouldn't complaint that too much in hk environment. Rating would be: Taste: 4.5 Environment: 4 Service: 3 Hygiene: 4.5 Value: 4

Words cannot do Cipriani Hong Kong justice…read more.. I have been eating at Cipriani Hong Kong for the past 12 years and what stands out is the consistency of service, quality of food and strict adherence to tradition...It's an institution with an amazing history (well worth reading up on) and a team that remain true to their strong Venetian roots. They are also notable for creating some Italian classics such as the Bellini (the original and the best - there's also a non-alcoholic version) and carpaccio. The dining experience at Cipriani Hong Kong is steeped in history and culture. The menu is extensive and includes the Cipriani classics, which luckily will never change, but also has variety at the edges, which allows frequent patrons to try something different every time they visit, should they so desire. Amongst the classics, Baked White Tagliolini with Ham (even better with green tagliolini) stands out - a rich shallow plate of pasta with a béchamel type sauce, strong tasting ham to give flavour and topped with parmesan and baked to heavenly perfection to give a crispy topping. Served as a starter or main. Scampi alla Carlina with Rice Pilaf is also a favourite - fresh and meaty scampi with a tangy tomato based sauce paired with Cipriani's lightly fried rice (also cooked to perfection). Amongst the starters, Avocado & Cherry Tomatoes Salad not only contains the freshest of both ingredients, is super healthy and tastes amazing with just the right amount of seasoning, but is also visually appealing with its mix of bright greens and reds. The Sea Scallops Carpaccio with Lemon and Olive Oil is also outstanding - paper thin slices of fresh sea scallop, layered to cover the plate with a touch of olive oil and sea salt, and half a lemon on the side, the juice of which provides a sharp compliment to the briny taste of the scallops. The risottos and pastas, are served perfectly al dente (more so than at any other Italian restaurant I have experienced) and the sauces are traditional. Try the Sea Urchin and Bottarga spaghetti for something really special and go off-menu for Spaghetti alla Tang, which was created for co-owner David Tang - a light and flavoursome dish with olive oil, prawns and chilli. Mains include fish and meat options, with must haves including Chilean Sea Bass in Miso Glaze (similar to Saikyo Yaki from Japan) and Veal Piccata al Limone (thinly sliced roast veal with a delicate lemon based gravy). Although not an obvious option, the Black Angus Beef Burger with home made chips is outstanding and extremely satisfying. And then the desserts, where the cake options are brought to the table in a theatrical show and introduced in all their sweet detail...The chocolate cake is heavy (in a good way) and rich whilst the Vanilla Meringue Cake is a light and fluffy classic. Tiramisu, Affogato (with home made ice-cream) and Fresh Berries with Vanilla ice-cream are all delicious. The drink selection is also wide and full of classics. The Espresso Martini is a great way to end a fantastic meal but also between courses try the Sgroppino (lemon sorbet, vodka and prosecco). The house wines are solid, especially when on a budget. The 3 course daily lunch menus provide good value whilst the dinner set menu (typically 5 courses) allows guests to try a variety of signature dishes in a combination arranged by the head chef. There's also an outstanding brunch buffet on Saturday's which includes all of the classic dishes together with pizza and roast meats, where the dishes are replaced regularly to keep them fresh - unlike any buffet I have tried before and extremely good value considering the quality and taste. It's important to note that Cipriani Hong Kong is a members only restaurant which allows it to retain a level of exclusivity. Perfection...

On the other hand, the place could be perfect for romantic dinner and after-work hangout, which is rarely to be found this area. The interior is in classic Italian style with comfortable chairs and big square tables. As we were told the dish would be in big portion, so we skipped the entree and ordered just fresh handmade pasta and signature pizza. The pasta served after half hour we ordered, but it was worth waiting! Two main dishes were delicious, but we were more impressed by the Vongole pasta - you could taste the freshness and unique texture, while the source was on point. If you are fancy in cocktails, Mojito would be a great choice and surprisingly matched with the Italian food! Otherwise, Osteria Felice has wide range of wine in glass - ask their friendly staff for recommendations.

Service was spectacular, our server George was excellent: friendly but non-intrusive, attentive, and took good care of our needs and wants. Food was plentiful and of high quality. Five dishes were brought out first to share: Ventricina, Anchovies, Caprese, Poached Oysters, and Grilled Cuttlefish Salad. And of course their signature bread sticks with olive oil and vinegar. Then came three more antipasti to share: Free Range Poached Eggs, Fried Calamari, and Meatballs. For main course, we picked the Squid Ink Pasta with Prawns and the Guazetto with Seared Cod, Prawns, and Clams. My favorites were the two main courses. Dessert was their famous Tiramisu which was marvelous. There were also melon slices and gelato. Drinks were included and bottomless and included alcoholic and non-alcoholic options at different prices. It was definitely a very enjoyable and relaxing lunch experience!

This is a relatively fancy place, so I think you need to wear pants and proper shoes. You have a pretty good view of the city from inside here, but I guess that is part of the price after all. When we were here, we had the brunch menu, even though it was pretty late in the day. Most of the dishes are to share here actually, though I don't know exactly how they determine the amount. I think if you opt for the shared brunch menu, it's going to be $780 HKD pp. The first thing that comes out however are the breadsticks, which I believe are a specialty of this place. They are indeed pretty good, and I think it's unlimited? You also get olive oil served with it. Anyway I don't really feel the need to say much more. All the main courses were fine, and you can look at some of the photos I took. The one thing I will comment on however was the tiramisu, which had a heavy alcohol flavor, which I thought made it taste great. I wish everyone made tiramisu like this. I would probably come back for the dessert, but not necessarily for anything else since this restaurant is really steep.

First off it was kind of hiding inside a commercial building. It required an uphill climb before reaching there. If you are planning to take your elderly friends or parents, I strongly encouraged taking a taxi there. We were greeted by a friendly hostess as soon as we stepped out of the elevator. The whole place was elegant and tasteful arts were hanging on the walls throughout the whole dinning room. It was lavishly decorated. The staffs were attentive and friendly. However I found it funny that the majority of the staffs only spoke English. It was kind of ironic that we had to speak English in a Cantonese speaking island. Of course we had to order Caesar Salad and Spicy Rigatoni because they are the two popular dishes at Carbon. Caesar salad was made in front of you and the waiter told us he flown to their NYC location to master the skill of making this salad. I was ensured everything was as good as their NYC location. The salad was fresh and crunchy; it was a combination of Baby Romaine lettuce, garlicky croutons and shaved cheese tossed in a rich tangy creamy dressing. Every bite was covered with a right amount of freshly made flavorful dressing. The mouth watering Spicy Rigatoni was so irresistible. The creamy spicy tomato sauce blended beautifully with the pasta. It was so delicious and addictive. I would not leave Carbon without eating its Spicy Rigatoni. We also tried the Veal Parmesan but it was kind of a disappointment because the meat was too dry and tough. The saving grace was that it was still full of flavor. We did have a good dinning experience there. I think it is a good restaurant for a romantic dinner or special occasions. It was as pricy as their NYC location but the food wasn't as good though. I just couldn't resist to compare both places. So for all the Carbon fans, it would be nice to visit this location because you might have a different opinion about it.

Food: 4.25 stars Service/atmosphere: 4.5 stars Value: 3 stars Overall: 4 stars Recommendations: bananas a la rum, rib eye Diana, baked clams, vodka sauce rigatoni On my latest visit to Carbone, I came for the set lunch. It's enough for two people but if you are really hungry you may want to order another appetizer. The set comes with your choice of a starter or pasta, a main, and a choice for dessert. We opted for the rigatoni with vodka sauce, the ribeye and bananas a la rum. 1) Rigatoni with vodka sauce- coming to a American Italian restaurant and not ordering this seemed like a shame. Good thing is that the dish is down well. The vodka sauce is nice and creamy and the pasta is cooked well and had a little bite to it. 2) Rib eye Diane - The rib eye is cooked and served in a really luscious mushroom sauce. The sauce really makes the dish. The steak itself was slightly a bit tough and had a few cuts with too much fat. However, I did really enjoy this dish. 3) Bananas a la rum- my favorite thing I had. Bananas are flambéd in a rum sauce and then poured over three scoops of ice cream and cake. Vanilla cookies are crumbled over the dessert to provide some texture and crunch for the dessert. This is really delicious and is a must order.
