It recently changed ownership, and the new owner and management have put so much positive energy and hard work into the space. The staff is unintimidating and approachable, and the gym member community is friendly and down to earth. There are alot of new classes being offered, and they are appropriate for all abilities which is rare at a gym. Guidance and support is offered, but it doesn't feel pushy or judgy at all. There is a women's fitness room, for those who are shy about working out in front of men or the larger group. And while the equipment is older, it's offered in an atmosphere that is welcoming and private. If you're visiting the area, a new neighbor, or an old friend who hasn't been since Michael bought it, give this place a try. I have never been happier with any work out facility anywhere.

I'm not the only person at this club that feels this way. Though the owner of this franchise may be a right winger (clearly), there are many patrons that come to this gym and live in this neighborhood, who do not agree with your politics and taking advantage of the situation to promote your own agenda, without being fair and balanced in a neutral situation, is frankly inappropriate and off putting. Option 1 Fitness has earned a five star review review for the following reasons: 1. Cleanliness is kept top priority. This is the cleanest gym I have ever worked out in. 2. The cardio equipment, machines, free weights (Dumbbells 5-150, bumper plates, etc) are all brand new. The machines are oiled weekly and are very smooth. 3. They let you lift heavy and use chalk! Too many gyms nowadays frown upon members making noise, lifting heavy, etc. 4. 24hr access 365. ***There are many different class options as well (functional fitness, kickboxing, hooping, Zumba, step) many of which are included in the most basic membership. ***Tanning is also included These are starred because they are not of interest to me but I felt they should be included in the review. However, our experience with the Kids Club has been extremely disappointing. About a year and a half ago, my son had an incident where a staff member teased him. He reacted in a playful but inappropriate way, and as a result, he was suspended for a week. At the time, he was also dealing with a serious medical condition that was affecting him neurologically, which we later came to understand may have influenced his behavior. Out of caution, he did not return to Kids Club after that incident. Now that he is doing much better, and I have returned to full-time work, I recently attempted to bring him back--only to be told that he is permanently banned. The reason given was a Facebook comment I had made at the time describing our experience. I made multiple attempts to have a calm, reasonable conversation with staff to revisit the situation, especially given the time that has passed and my son's improved health. Unfortunately, there was no willingness to reconsider. This puts us in a very difficult position. As a working parent, I rely on the Kids Club in order to use the gym. Without access to childcare, we are now faced with canceling a membership we've maintained for years--not because we want to, but because we no longer have a way to utilize the facility. What's most concerning is the lack of empathy and accountability in how this situation has been handled. I sincerely hope the club takes a closer look at how interactions with children are managed, and how situations like this are resolved, so that other families don't have a similar experience.

Missing many machines that modern gyms have. For abour $70/month one would expect better. Seems more geared towards families with kids and elderly. Always adding on new fees and trying to sell extras.

Well, thanks to the donations of two clients of the Hogan Sports Center who defrayed the cost of renovations, the Hogan Sports Center gym is now brand new, with new equipment, new machines, new weights, and a totally new outlook. In addition, the student athletes who frequently were trying to do their team workouts while half the town was at the weight room, they now have their own varsity gym, located in what was one of the racketball courts downstairs, where they can drop weights without shaking the building. The staff is absolutely awesome. The offerings are also amazing, olympic size pool, yoga, Peloton, indoor running track, you name it. One totally complete facility.

He always ask in the beginning of each visit how your feeling and what has changed. If a certain technique hasn't had much effect he'll try different techniques until he gets you straightened out rather than repeating the same steps over and over to fill the time slot. When I've mentioned seeing him to others I've heard things like " Oh that's guys awesome, he completely eliminated my planters fasciitis " and " yeah I thought I need back surgery but that guy saved me, he's incredible". Hopefully he stays in the area.
