Please BEWARE and do not sign up with this driving school. They are a money grab to get students in the virtual classes and then it all is downhill. When taking virtual courses make sure that your attendance and exam scores are accurate. Also, it will take months to schedule the behind the wheel training and you will not receive a response from the school via phone or email. They will schedule one behind the wheel training and then never respond or follow up in relation to scheduling the additional appointments. Also, some of my child's paperwork was lost so be attentive in relation to the record keeping. Per other reviews, they take on too many customers and don't have enough instructors to handle the training. The system that is set up with this class is not good. You can take a class pass the test and they will sometime mess up attendance and make you have to completely retake a class even if you were in attendance. They don't even let you know until the last day at the end which is not fair. Waste of time. It also takes a long time to schedule the driving behind the wheel. read more

Do not ever go to this dumb school! They don't even teach you how to drive. They say the 6 hours behind the wheels is false and they lie so much! This is the worst driving school. My son finished the in class sessions and took two of the required driving session. He scheduled another session on January 4tg but had to cancel it on December 31st which is 5 days before the required 24 hours cancellation time Even though we canceled 5 days in advance, the school refuses to book his last driving session until we pay that fee. I've called and emailed the owners over 3 times and each time I get the same demand for a $50 fee we do not owe. It's their contract that has the 24 hour policy and we got written confirmation of the cancellation within 24 hours of the cancellation This means they CONFIRMED 4 DAYS in advance that the appointment was canceled. They are holding my son's license up for hostage now for months. I want a partial refund and to forget it all at this point. I plan to take my complaint up with the MVA and the Maryland Consumer Protection Bureau Do yourself a favor and GO ELSEWHERE!!! There are too many other schools in Maryland for you to chose this horrible and poorly managed and run shoddy operation! read more

I would not recommend this school for your child, they take in a large number of students to complete the coarse classroom training but when it's time to schedule the 6 hour driving training they do not have availability for MONTHS! My son completed his training in April and we still do not have dates for his 6 hour required training. When you call the number to speak to someone the line is busy! Why take so many students if you do not have enough teachers for the driving? We were hoping to get my sons license before summer started so he can go to work on his own. Now that seems to be out of the question. Think twice before sending your child here. read more

Overall experience was not pleasant. Once your class work is over actually scheduling behind the wheel time is VERY DIFFICULT. The office staff will constantly say there are no time slots open yet and it's up to you to be tenacious to grab one if you can. The instructors are very good however- patient and effective but even the instructor asked me why it took so long to do behind the wheel!!! I had to let him know it's because there were never any appointments available, he wasn't surprised. their offices are empty (no furniture) Made me wonder where all the money they collect goes?!? read more

I wish I had seen these poor reviews for this school before we chose it. We went with them because they were relatively inexpensive and close to us, now we know why. They advertise pick up/drop off services for behind the wheel driving, but they steadfastly refuse to do this for multiple reasons. I spoke directly with the Manager, who would only give me the name "Zee". First she said it was discontinued last year due to COVID. Yet, they still advertise it as a service. If you're already spending 2 hours at a time in the car, what has COVID got to do with it? Then, she said gas prices were going up and it was too expensive. Not my problem, you contracted for a service, now provide that service. The office in Derwood is only available on weekends for behind the wheel driving because they only have 1 qualified instructor who will work from that location. They also claim they're open 7 days a week with flexible hours. Yet we've been trying, as others have, for months to get on the schedule because they only have 1 instructor who works from that office. Perhaps the other offices are better staffed; judging by the other reviews I don't think so. So now, instead of my son being able to drive himself to work, we have to pay the extra gas to do it ourselves and still haven't got the required hours completed to take the test. All in all, a horrible experience dealing with them. I would recommend anyone in the Derwood area or the Magruder/Sherwood/Gaithersburg High School areas to avoid this "driving school" like COVID. read more

I have had many problems with this company. They double-book teachers for in-car, so students show up while teachers are having a class. The Lanham office is very noisy, making it tough to understand the person who answers the phone. I had to badger them to get my son's information to the MVA, including sending a text of his driver's license because they "never got it". Once I sent the information, and they had everything, I called and they verified that the information was indeed sent to the MVA. When we went in for the driver's skill test, the MVA had no record of his certificate from SP Driving. That's my fault for not calling the MVA and verifying that SP Driving actually followed through correctly. When I called SP Driving, they had no record of me sending the text or calling or anything. They said they tried to reach me using four phone numbers (one of which I've never heard of) and couldn't get in touch with us to let us know there was a problem. I find that hard to believe. So I re-texted the same information to the same number while they were on the phone. That seemed to work. While on the phone, they send a screen snap of the MVA confirmation. I still need to verify that the MVA has the correct information, because they could have messed this up, too. And I have to wait another month to to do the driver's skill test. read more

My son has tried to schedule his driving hours since he finished the classes almost a year ago. He was told they closed down for pandemic reasons which is understandable but when they opened back up he has been emailing and calling with no response. After reading the other reviews I see I will not try anymore and instead seek out another school. I shouldn't have to but we will not waste anymore of our time on this business nor should anyone else. read more

My brother finished driving school in February. Covid hit and he was unable to finish his last "behind the wheel" training. He has been trying to schedule his training since they opened back up in June. It is now going into September and they cancel on him every time. It's always something. They double book, cancel your appt and then don't even tell you until you show up. This is the most unorganized place I've ever seen and nobody ever knows what the fuck is going on. You take peoples money and can't even hold your end of the bargain by getting people prepared to take the test because they always fucking cancel on you. Y'all have one more time to inconvenience him or Ima need a refund so that he can take driving school all over again somewhere else. It'll be way faster than waiting on y'all slow asses. read more

Personally, I would pick another driving school, took me at least 4 months to get started with my behind-the-wheel. I do in fact like my behind-the-wheel instructors. THey gave me tips on what to do and what not to do during the MVA road test. read more

This school is terrible. My child started SP Driving school Laurel in November and completed it successfully. But was left standing in the freezing cold on several occasions waiting for the behind the wheel driver who never showed.. it's almost February, I want a refund! Hello PAYPAL, I paid $350 for 36 hours of MVA Certified Training for my drivers liscense. The classes were supposed to start on August 13, for the first two days of classes Mr. Leonard Davis and Miss Z Bello made us watch YouTube videos, that we're not instructional, they were YouTube video such as "Canada's worst driver" which were 45 minute clips. I expressed my discomfort, and was told that things will be better. On day three when I entered the classroom, I had a new driver instructor Home could not answer any of my questions, and got agitated and Verbally abusive when I asked questions. I then went and express my discomfort to Leonard Davis and requesting a refund which is when he decided that on the following day he would take me to a different location for a different class (Driver improvement-- even though i paid for driver education) for that day. He also asked me to be nice to Mr. Bolaji (the instructor) because he was still NEW and in training. I expressed my discomfort about the fact that I am paying for driver education and they wanted to take me to driver improvement class, to which then Mr. Leonard Davis says "$350 must be a lot to you because you keep on talking about it" which i felt was rude and inconsiderate ESPECIALLY because I am the paying customer. And that was discrimination against me due to my financial situation which is why I than proceeded to ask for a refund again which is when Zee Bello told me I needed to wait for her to visit the location in Lanham to start my process for a refund. I called her 6 hours later and she told me she had not needed to leave to process my refund but she hoped I would just "calm down and deal with the class for the remaining time" I told her I couldn't and I wished for the refund process to start, she asked me to visit the Laurel office again to sign paperwork for the process to start for my refund. On the evening when i went to the office, Zee wasn't there, she had been emailing and whatsapping the other office worker my paperwork. Mr Leonard Davis had been at the location and he continually yelled and screamed at me, saying very rude things and that he "bent over backwards" to help me, referring to taking me to Driver Improvement class, or referencing the idea that he would cut my class by 6 hours so i could take my driving test on time. Overall, I requested my refund in writing to their office by August 20th and they hadn't done anything which is why I than contacted paypal. read more

There are so many things wrong about this driving school. I dreaded picking up my phone to call them because it was always so unprofessional or I knew I would be let down. It is such a HASSEL to get a hold of Miss Zee (the main squeeze of the company) and it was an even bigger struggle to book my behind the wheels...Call multiple times if you need to make it happen. My permit was expiring soon so that is the only reason I would give them one star, they did help me in that aspect, but other than that the company is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and although the price is better than other places it is not worth it. I was annoyed every BTW (was barely given direction) I recommend you know the basics of being on the road before going or else you are in trouble. It was honestly an exhausting experience and I am glad it is over. Please go else where if you can it will be exhausting if you continue to go through with it. When booking btw call every few days so you can get booked ASAP. If you're permit is expiring soon you will definitely need to be on their case. Book your test and press them out for hours and they'll learn to listen. read more
