I hired Shaun Southworth and he took the ball and ran with it. It took a long time because, as always, dewing with the federal government can be difficult. They want you to give up. 5/1/2026 Update: Imagine finally receiving a response from Mr. Southworth who manages to make social media postings his full time job as of late with excuses to cover up him dodging my communications for three weeks. Then subtracts $10,000.00 from refund due to me on top of what he received for the 1 successful claim. Then proceeds to tell me he will be unreachable next week because he's in trial, this coded language he uses when he doesn't want you to contact him. Essentially for all of my suffering for 4 years, I am walking away with an additional $3,000.00 and he walks away with five figures. Make it make sense. My God this is unbelievable. I int to file a grievance with the Georgia Bar Association and other agencies. This is unacceptabl. 4/27/2026 Update: It is so disheartening to write this update. He is literally dodging speaking to a client, but had no problem collecting every single payment for 3 years. And to think I trusted him with a second appeal, in which his office missed a critical deadline by 3 weeks and he scoffed at me when I addressed how unacceptable this was. Since 2022 I have had to play secretary and paralegal reminding them of deadlines, having to send follow-up email reminders, reminding him of meetings. Hired him for an EEOC case. This guy was not prepared. I felt like he did nothing so I would continue to pay for an appeal. Did that and he did not even respond and file documents with the administrative judge and my case was over! He had the nerve to ask did I want to continue to federal court! Southworth PC - Misleading, Dishonest, and Unethical I hired Southworth PC to handle my EEO case after being assured over the phone that my case would be covered for a flat $7,500 fee. Months later, they completely flipped the script, demanding more money and threatening to abandon my case if I didn't pay. * On August 23, 2024, I paid an additional $1,000 in good faith, thinking it would reduce deductions from any potential case winnings. * On January 6, 2025, they threatened to drop my case unless I immediately paid an additional $4,000, despite my clear refusal to agree to additional payments beyond the $7,500. * When I refused, they abruptly withdrew from my case, showing no regard for the harm they caused me. This racially biased scammer deserves -5 stars. Southworth exploited the fact that I was in a hostile and prejudiced working environment to his own personal benefit. Made several mistakes in documents submitted on my behalf and charged me thousands of dollars in the process. Ruining a great case that I had and that any other experienced lawyer would've helped me to handle with ease and grace. A good attorney should put your mind at ease and understand what their clients are going through and dealing with. This is not Southworthless at all. Including submitting recycled copy and pasted documents used for other clients with the other persons last name STILL in the document. Putting incorrect information in the document saying that EEO Counselor contact isn't protected activity when it actually is. Absolutely ruined my case. Georgia Lawrence is inexperienced and should not have been on my case at all. Georgia Lawrence sat on calls with the agency and didn't speak up for me once then charged me $1000 after this meeting. Southworthless puts more effort into faking as a reputable federal employee law firm instead of actually being one. To timid to object during the impromptu meeting that was called but yelled at me that I did know the law and hung up in my face on the phone. Abusing and bullying your own client??? Hiring Southworth PC was the biggest mistake of my life. I had a very strong case as I was employed by my federal agency for 33 years with a meticulous record and many awards. Shaun Southworth, although on initial contact seems nice, is actually a very nasty and arrogant man. He takes your money in increments of $5,000 and uses it up rapidly .. and I mean rapidly with no visible result ...until your funds run out then puts you on a payment plan and assigns your case to Georgia Lawrence. She is a very inexperienced lawyer who is so lacking in skills and judgement you have to wonder if she is intentionally losing your case. I had a grueling 6.5 hour deposition with the US Justice Department. She was on Zoom supposedly supporting me. She came back from lunch 20 minutes late which really irritated the Justice Department attorney then had to leave for an hour to speak to another judge on another case ... leaving me on my own ... then when she came back from that meeting she forgot to turn off her video .. and there was Georgia Lawrence sitting in her car! It was so embarrassing and unprofessional. I fought this case for five years finally getting to US Federal Court and Georgia filed my case in the wrong format so the Federal Judge disregarded ALL of my disputed facts using the Justice Department 's overly false narrative to dismiss my case. Shaun's response was ...well all courts and states are different! Isn't that what his job is .. to know how to properly file a case in the proper format in Federal Court? He was supposedly monitoring my case. He took no responsibility for this mistake and damaging loss. He then immediately dropped me as a client. He refused to even explain the Judges decision to me... he refused to respond to my subsequent inquiries as of what to do. I have no means to Appeal now. I have to wonder if this loss was intentional or part of how he does business ... taking a loss in some sort of deal with these federal agencies as many others have mentioned in his online reviews. I too am filing a complaint with the Bar Association and hope that anyone else who has been hurt by this unscrupulous, inept law firm will do the same. This should not stand. I had hundreds of pages of emails and witnesses to support my case that never was considered partially because Shaun was so tight with spending money that none of my witnesses were deposed as I asked, for repeatedly, so nothing was on record in support of my case. Took me 1 year to get my tax returns saved up ($5,000 Trust fund retainer fee paid in full to Shaun Southworth) & even ended up homeless for 6 months during the wait for Shaun to finish appealing my case. Got word last week after 2 years of asking what is status of settlement EEOC says I lost case! When speaking to Shaun he plays dumb saying, " I don't know what happened here but you clearly have a case & we have 3 options 1. let it go 2. write a demand letter to agency 3. $2500 more for court hearing!" I asked for the balance owed to me from trust fund retainer instead he says I have a $42.88 bill from 2021! When I did the first appealed myself, I the same exact results paying Shaun $5,000. DON'T DO IT! I filed my initial compliant in 2016 with EEOC & this is 7 yrs later nothing, just broke busted & disgusted! Time wasted as well. The 5 stars are paid people or family & friends!
