My suitcase - after SW finished with it.

Southwest has a reputation for being a good deal for flying. Let me tell you, IT SUCKS! They don't tell you ahead of time what to do when they destroy your luggage, they just won't pay! I reported my luggage damage after I got home (after a 4 hr flight!). I submitted photos of the damage. And I have gone around in circles for the past 6 weeks. Looks like I'll have to file a claim in small claims court. What a way to provide customer service. OMG! Don't fly Southwest unless you are willing to sacrifice your luggage - without compensation.

Smaller airport easy to get through security & TSA lines. Good signage for food, gates, restrooms and shopping. Lots of seating at the gates while waiting for your flight. Construction going on throughout the airport.

Southwest Airlines and I, has been a love and hate relationship. But I would say I love it more than I hate it. It took some getting used to that seats weren't assigned, heck I even had a couple cases where I couldn't sit next to my partner because of it. But I learned that unlike other airlines with assigned Seats, on southwest you have to get there early. It also helps if you're sitting in b or c boarding to upgrade to A. A little trick I use is to sit in the furthest part of the plane, and I pray no one sits next to me and my partner and I can stretch out. When I get lucky in that way the plane ride is so incredibly enjoyable. I am somewhat disappointed by how hard it is using their rewards system to actually get enough miles to get a free flight. I've been flying multiple times a year like 5 times a year for 2 years and I have nowhere even remotely close to enough to redeem one ticket. However, their low prices I suspect is the main catalyst driving this nuance. So for this reason I'm okay with waiting as long as it takes to get a free flight lol. I will say this though, you really have to compare airlines as much as possible because once in a while you get a much better deal somewhere else. For example on my flight back to Albuquerque from LA when I finally make my big round trip to my multiple stops and come back home to the Abq, I'll be taking delta only paying $75 more and flying nonstop first class!

Well Monday night they call to say the flight is delayed until 9:00 AM. No problem. So we arrive at the airport around 8:00 AM Activity board still says 8:00 AM, and the board at the gate says 8:00 AM. I'm told, "oh no one pay attention to that". OKAY. Boutique Air is a small airline with small planes, our plane is an 8 seater, single propeller. BTW, no security here, what so ever. I'm from New York, so this is very different from what I expect. At check in the first question is, " how much do you weight". I guess they need this information to distribute weight in the plane. Good thing Mrs. E is not with me because no way she's giving that information up. Now flight is delayed another 30 minutes, than another 30 minutes. I learn there's only 3 people on this flight. I'm starting to see a pattern. Now we're in a weather delay. A decision will be made at 11:15. They take the plane back to the maintenance hanger, so I'm starting to feel like this plane is not going to fly today. Their cancellation policy is, after a three hour delay you can get a refund. Should have left at 8, now it's 11. I'm pretty good at math so three hours, refund please. I rented a car and drove 4.5 hrs to Carlsbad. You might think 4 stars is generous but for a small operation like Boutique Air, they were very reasonably and nice. Even offered coffee or soda during the initial delay. I get it, it's just business, taking just 3 people on a 1.5 hr flight may not be profitable. The third person that would have been on our flight is a regular customer and she said that they are normally very good. I believe her. Although I don't see myself using this airline again since I'm rarely if ever in this area, I would suggest them to you. Just check the "weather ", before booking, LOL.

It's really roomy and they offer some really nice options. One great thing is you are able to purchase Green Chile once you come through TSA. That is so awesome because I love the green chile. My home airport in Greensboro is the little airport that could, where it's possible to arrive 30 minutes before your flight, get through security, and to your gate before they shut you out pretty much any day... but I gotta be honest, ABQ's "Sunport" probably has it beat. All the prior things being true, at least as far as I can tell, you can get to the airport without much worry of a long security line or wait at any juncture. I was easily through in under 10 minutes. After passing through security, you'll find yourself in a food court with about five options to get something in your before your trip. Also in this area is a plethora of comfy seating to lounge or even nap in, clean restrooms, table space with plenty of charging points, and nice wide walkways headed wherever you are. Probably the most impressive thing, is just how comfortable all the seating is. Even the chairs outside the gate are wide and comfortable. This airport wins on comfort above any other one that I have ever visited.

I always rave abt the Delta crew here at ABQ Even when stuff is super messed up due to bad weather all around, as frustrating as it is and can be, the ground crew here and at the counter are exceptional, so helpful. I should take one star away bc they no longer hv Peter working curbside check-in, but given the covid pandemic, that he and that service would probably no longer be allowed anyways. Nevertheless, there is a stellar crew at the counter. So many have retired over the years, Mr Bill, Ms Robyn, Andy But I saw Robert and Ute recently and Chris and the other Mr Bill are still here and the many new faces all seem very professional and ready to uphold the tradition of great service with a smile - even at 0600 am. Thank you for all that you do Today it is, as always, a joy to have Mr Bill greet me at the counter and Ms Misty at the gate. Both were so helpful, as always, true, but now we had to contend with a broken foot. Oy. Ms Yoli was her cheerful, efficient self too! I'm tellin' ya, even with so many new faces, this Delta team runs pretty dang smoothly. Just missed Ms Ute today, but so glad she gets a day off
