I went to the office today due to a eye infection. I have never had issue with this office before bc I've been several times, even after the new system was administered. My wallet had been stolen so I didn't have anything but LA wallet and my insurance was on the system. Never was a problem until today. Tried to call me a a liar about being there since the new system was on place... Check my patient history.. you'll see it's true. So she proceeded to tell me there's nothing she can do and I explained what they did before to just get me through the survey online. I was insured and they had everything on their system including my id and I had La wallet . Again never had an issue. She proceeded to call a associate in another office to see how to deal with the problem then told her something I TRIED to explain and she would not listen to me and proceeded telling her stuff as I was like no ma'am that's not what I said. And she ignored me and went to the back where they began making jokes and saying stuff like she's cray cray. And other things where you could hear it in the lobby, so I was humiliated in front of the whole office and lobby, not once but twice. I even heard the receptionist say.. this made me feel so good about myself. And they started laughing. I walked out crying from being so humiliated. This was my main office I came to. It I doubt I'll return. I wouldn't have just made something up like that... Esp when my history states I've been there several times. Always treated with kindness until today. I guess a father of a child taking his kid in to see whats going with them, is a reason to be pissy at the father. the "doctor" checking my son out acting like i was even there when i was telling her what medicine he couldnt stomach. and when i talked to her she didnt even look at me when i spoke, just gave me side eye and attitude when i said medicine he couldnt take. if i could rate that lady with zero stars i would in a heart beat!! but the office lady up front did perfect with helping get our information down. read more

Care time was not bad, but they took an ex-ray when I told them I had a muscle issue. And gave me steroids. $50 for them to say I had a general jiloint issue and my issue was with my calf muscle. I needed to know if I tore a muscle. read more

Any time I've visited this urgent care, the front desk employees are beyond pleasant. They even offer you a snack while you wait. Both providers that I have seen were professional & nice. They also both happily answered any questions I had & offered professional comedic relief when I was nervous. read more

Nurses and doctors were wonderful! We were very pleased with the service. They treated my baby boy so well and even gave him a sucker and small toy before leaving. However, in the lobby waiting room, before being seen, the receptionist had a very vulgar show playing that said the F word 6-8 times in a matter of a minute. I made a comment about young ears and a professional setting and she ignored. I then finally asked very firmly if we could find another show because I didn't want my 2 year old that was present with me to hear or repeat those words. She said there was a kids room I was welcome to take him to. The kids room is located right next to the wall the TV with vulgar language was taking place, so that wouldn't have made a difference. After others in the waiting room made remarks about the show and vulgar language she decided to turn it off. This was very unprofessional regardless of children or adults. It made me very uncomfortable and now sadly my son has been exposed to those vulgar words at the young age of 2. read more

Had a horrible experience at Southstar and would not recommend this clinic to my worst enemy. No one deserves the lack of treatment I was offered. I was prescribed medications for symptoms I did not even have. To begin, overall the office appears and feels unclean. The floors, medical equipment and furniture were dirty. I was ushered into an exam room with dining room chairs available as seating. The exam room and waiting room furniture were both peeling and cracked. Next, the receptionist. I'm not sure I've met another human being that could be so rude, disgusted and uninterested in working with other human beings. I admittedly filled out one section of the intake form that I did not need to fill out. I apologized. The receptionist proceeded to berate me in front of everyone in the waiting room. She stated "I said to only fill out the highlighted part." I again apologized and reminded the receptionist that sometimes people do make mistakes. Especially sick patients just trying to get medical attention as quickly as possible. Next, I do not appreciate having to explain or yell out my symptoms to the receptionist in front of a waiting room with other patients. The check in process here is not friendly for protecting your privacy. Finally I was brought back to an exam room. The nurse here was friendly, thankfully. However, she needs training in how to accurately take blood pressure. Utilizing a wrist pressure is not an accurate measurement if the BP machine is not working on the upper arm. Find a proper working machine or take a manual BP. Next, I saw the NP (Wyble). He had obviously decided he would choose Covid as his "diagnosis" before he walked in the room and examined me. Despite a negative test in the office and three other negative tests from the week leading up to my visit; Wyble refused to "listen" to my concerns or course of illness. I had no cough, no shortness of breath, no oxygen issues and none of the general symptoms of COVID. Yet, he prescribed me cough medicine and a steroid inhaler. When I questioned these prescriptions he asked about my breathing. I again reiterated that I had no issues breathing or any other respiratory symptoms. He continued to prescribe the cough medicine and inhaler anyways. He cited false evidence regarding COVID testing, COVID hospitalizations and told me to stop taking my other prescribed medications. Again, he did not listen to anything I had to say. He refused to understand his patient and was incapable of working through any other differential diagnosis. I left the clinic and was able to get in with my PCP who did listen to me and was able to rule out COVID and prescribe the proper medications and treatment plan. For my story, I was lucky. I didn't end up with a life threatening illness. A provider cannot put everyone in the same box. I'm lucky I sought out further medical care to get answers. Not everyone is able to do so. read more

N.P Linda J. Did not discuss name of prescription during visit. After picking up medicine and getting home did I realize I had been prescribed a drug not FDA approved. I should have been informed of this during visit. She only stated that a antiviral medication was being sent to pharmacy. I had to call the pharmacy then call SouthStar to find out that due to drug interation with other meds I take is why I was prescribed Molnupiravir instead of Paxlovid. My first visit here was awesome, this visit was done with Practitioner in 5 minutes. If she had taken more time then I would have been better informed. If I had wanted this type of service I had other options for Urgent Care providers. I am extremely disappointed with this visit. read more

We scheduled an appointment online for our daughter but when we arrived at the clinic at our appointment time we were told the provider had left already. We had been waiting for over two hours for this appointment but never received any communication that we would not be seen. Will not trust a appointment confirmation from this urgent care in the future. read more

Southstar Urgent Care at 4015 sterlington rd in Monroe has HORRIBLE customer service. the receptionist is extremely RUDE and hung up on me when I asked for a supervisor. poor business practice at its best to have such a rude unprofessional person to represent the onset of your business. this is literally the first AND last impression a patcient has of said business. from the start, the representative/receptionist answering, the phone sounded like she had been sleeping. She simply could not be bothered by my question and request to have my number removed from their contact system. Refused to let me speak to a supervisor and hung up on me. When calling back, she claimed that the call got disconnected when she tried to transfer it. This is absolutely not true! I could literally hear the phone hanging up, she was rude the second and hung up again . I will be coming into the clinic to speak to the supervisor.. read more
