For all you crazy ass animal yelpers you know that you'll like this place…read more You like looking through the glass aquariums at the fish, the hermit crabs, sometimes even the snakes. You like trying to stick your hand in to pat the puppies or kittens or anything furry really. The little child in you is dancing inside the second you walk inside this pretty big store and you know you'll be able to touch something! See something and maybe even buy something if you can afford it. I have my doubts about the puppies here, rumours on the grapevine tell me they sell a vast range of pups because they do get some from puppy farms... but it could be a rumour. With no truth in it. Having said that, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful so if you did get anything here or need any medicated shampoo like me, they are more than willing to point you to the right direction and even show you how the item works. It's a great place for kids to have fun too, and the dog food isn't too expensive.

I'm embarrassed to admit it but I use to come to Pet City a lot to look at - their fish collection…read more You wouldn't believe the size of their collection. There are African cichlids, American cichlids, garoumis, neons, guppies, clown fishes like Nemo, bright coloured salt water fish that you find in the Barrier Reef - draw breath - even their goldfishes were crazy exotic varieties with celestial eyes, lionheads and bubbly chins. This is the place to go if you're an avid fish collector. Their range is huge given that they are not an exclusive aquarium. Their staff know their stuff too should your $200 discus threaten to float belly up. In my case, usually it was because I wasn't washing the tank out enough but there are all sorts of fish fungal afflictions and water pH issues which the devoted fish collector need to know about. They have a pretty impressive aviary and reptile house as well. My nephew picked up his first pet here; an unusual pair of hermit crabs named Michael and Priscilla. He's from a science-y family so I have no doubt he'll be picking up some stick insects, centipedes and rhinoceros beetles for his collection soon enough. Pet City is not your standard pet store. Even if you're not after a pet or pet supplies, it's an entertaining place to take the kids.

I can't resist going into a pet shop to gaze at all the adorable little puppies, so I was panic…read moremomentarily gripped me when I went inside this one and couldn't find any. Have you ever been into a pet shop that didn't have puppies? Or at least kittens? It's like an ice cream shop with no chocolate, or a sushi place with no salmon. Luckily I soon located them and realised they had simply been hidden behind the Christmassy white spray all over the front windows. This isn't a very big pet shop, but it's adequate. They have a limited range of animals including guinea pigs and fish along with the requisite puppies, pet food and of course accessories. It's not the most exciting of its genre, but it gets the job done.

This is a nice little pet shop located within a very busy shopping mall. It's not very big but it…read morehas plenty to offer. The times I have been here I've seen puppies, little kittens, guinea pigs and an array of beautiful fish. The puppies, kittens and guinea pigs are located towards the front of the shop and the fishies are towards the back wall. The little pups are the front window cannot be seen by passer by's unless you walk into the store. I think this is a good idea as it might be stressful for the little guys to see lots of people coming up to them. However, having a front view of a paper plastered window does not make this store look appealing. They should consider replacing that. All in all though, the pups don't seem to be bothered and look happy and healthy. One thing I noticed here that I didn't approve of, was all the little children poking the pets and the shop minder didn't seem phased by it at all. I know parents have a responsibility over their children, but I should hope the pet shop staff would protect the pets from children who are stressing them out. Still, despite this, it is a nice little pet store with quite a lot on offer. Good range in toys and pet accessories.

This pet shop is oddly placed on the mostly industrial Pickering St, however they're not kidding…read morewhen they claim to have everything dog. They have an extensive range of beds, bowls, leashes (big range of Puppia harnesses), medication, toys, treats, grooming aides - pretty much everything you'd need. The prices seem pretty reasonable too. Up the back are the puppies. They were pretty vocal when I was there, but the cages looked large and clean and nothing smelled bad. What I really liked was how the puppies were behind a gate, with big signs asking you to get a sales assistant if you wanted to look. All the cages had signs warning not to touch as the puppies aren't fully vaccinated yet. I know that your average pet shop wouldn't take that much care with a puppy's health so I took that as a good sign. They also do grooming, I have my dog booked in for the works package - she's about 8 kg's and they're charging me $55 for hydrobath, clip, toenails and ears. With optional bow (I said no, my dog is a Pomeranian cross and already looks girly enough).

My little Jack Russell Domino was from here! I remember when we first drove by, we went in, and…read morewere really surprised at the amount of puppies they had in the back room. You can't pet them unless you're serious about buying one, and you have to spray your hands with sanitiser before they let you near a pup. We weren't even in the market for a puppy. The second time we came here, we bought one. How silly of us, but do we regret it? 6 years later, he is the best puppy we have ever gotten. The only one we have ever bought together actually. They don't get their dogs from puppy farms here, but from breeders from Melbourne and Sydney. The puppies are flown in, dates are on their websites as to which breeds are expected when, and they are super strict about disease control, vaccination and worming. Chipping as well if you want that too prior to picking your pup up. This little centre is pretty surprisingly popular, most popular breeds like your labradoodle and pug go pretty quickly as soon as they arrive (pre-order your pups apparently) and you can trust that you will get papers and a good legit non-puppy farmed dog from here, unlike other places. To top it off, they have cat, bird and other pet supplies too, a great range of leads, collars and toys for your best friend. Really love this place!

Do not even think about taking your dog here for grooming. It is with new owners and you can only…read moresay the new management appears totally useless and out of touch. Obviously from down south. With experience over the years, it is much better to deal with Queensland management. I have been taking my dog to be groomed once every four weeks approximately since the store opened. Value around 90 dollars and around 50 dollars of premium dry dog food. This time when I turned up I was informed that I was late(many times I have arrived for pick up and they were still grooming my dog DUH)) They said they only do 1-hour slots. Even high-class hairdressers do 15-minute slots LoLoL I was informed that they would not be accepting my dog because after a thorough 5-minute examination they found some flea dust a dead flea and a couple of live ones on her stomach. As such she was rejected. The gromer I then booked her with laughed at that and said how ridiculous. They are only dog groomers who seem to be getting way above their station. No way am I ever returning after in the past giving 5-star reviews

She had five hours to neaten up the paws, clean around her face and trim her fur so then she was still furry. I went to collect my dog at 4:30 and so was this other lady. The lady waiting to collect her dog pointed through the window into the grooming room and said to me that she was unhappy of how her dog was being treated with his head being pulled and yanked. I looked next to the lady's dog and it was my dog who was on the grooming table without an attachment so she wouldn't fall or jump off. I was disgusted. When the lady's dog was brought out she wasn't happy and brought the store supervisor out and told her that she wasn't gonna pay for this because thegroomer didn't even finish her job and the dogs hair cut was uneven and messy. The store supervisor was ok with that and went about his usual job. Then my dog came out and all her fur was shaved off, only one paw was neatly cut and the hair on her ears was almost gone. I then told the groomer that I was disgusted with what she's done and that I wasn't gonna pay for mine either. She brought the store supervisor out and told him that she only had and hour to groom my dog along with two other dogs and that I wanted to sue her for doing a bad job in such a small amount of time. Now I was pissed. I told the store supervisor that I was really unhappy with the job she had done and that it shouldn't be necessary for me to pay for it. So he was just like whatever and all was good. Except that that lady wasn't fired. ooof why can't I give this place no stars lmao
