I absolutely loved the dentist office! It was my son's first dentist appointment and they made sure to explain everything to him in a way that made it seem completely painless. The dental was great with him and they even have screens on the ceiling for them to watch tv while they are getting their teeth cleaned. This has to be the coolest and most reliable dentistry I have seen. I called and got an appointment a few days later. My daughter was so nervous about going to the dentist, but was welcomed in the doors to a nature safari like scene. She immediately started playing with the other kids and had to be pried away from the games when it was her turn to be seen. The office was clean and upscale. I was so excited to see that they took really great care of these little people they service. The assistants and Dentist made my daughter feel comfortable and explained everything they were going to do. My daughter then allowed them to go into her mouth. She received a full exam and cleaning in a matter of minutes. My daughter loved the toothbrush kit they gave her as she left and of course she wanted to return to the toys. I moved shortly after and needed documentation for her school program. I contacted the office and received what I needed via email in a matter of minutes! I love this dentistry. Dr. Amy recently saw my daughter and determined that she would need 7 or 8 cavities drilled and filled, along with one possible tooth extraction. The total (without insurance) was going to be almost $4,000. The only anesthesia option offered was to do general anesthesia with a nasal intubation. I went to a different dentist several days later for a second opinion and that dentist determined that only two teeth needed to be drilled and filled (the others that had cavities could be treated without fillings), and no teeth needed to be extracted. Also, she stated that general anesthesia seemed like overkill and would not be necessary to drill and fill my daughter's teeth. Instead, she would use a bit of nitrous oxide (gas) to calm her down. The total for this second dentist was $1,400. This dentist also stated that research shows that putting a young child under 3 years old under general anesthesia can have a negative affect on brain development (cognition), so she prefers to only go that route if absolutely necessary. In this case, it was not necessary. Oh, and Dr. Amy at Southpoint Pediatric Dentistry stated that x-rays would be necessary, whereas the second dentist did not do x-rays, deeming them unnecessary. I'm glad my daughter avoided the radiation that would have come with x-rays if Dr. Amy had done them. The moral of the story here is to get a second opinion. By doing so, we avoided having 5 or 6 teeth drilled and filled, avoided general anesthesia, which is not good for a young child's brain, avoided radiation exposure from unnecessary x-rays, and saved tons of cash. Also, Dr. Amy did not say a word about the fact that research shows general anesthesia to negatively affect a young child's brain. Surely she is aware of this information. I feel like this should have been fully explained, and it wasn't even mentioned. That's concerning. And does Dr. Amy not use nitrous oxide in her practice? It would have been much cheaper, I presume, than general anesthesia.... and safer. Oh, but her husband is the anesthesiologist, so maybe that explains why no other options were given. read more

I could not be more unimpressed with this practice. We took my daughter here to have 3 cavities filled with sedation. It went okay, however, we found the dentist to be unfriendly. We weren't allowed back with our daughter as they put her under which was very unnerving. I work in a pediatric hospital and we allow parents back all the time. In addition, we overpaid and when I called in January 2021 about our refund I was promised it would be mailed by the end of the month. It's now October. I've called 8+ times, received the same empty promises and never got the refund. And lastly, we brush my daughter teeth 2x a day and one of the spots they treated is falling apart. I have no idea what they even did to her mouth as they've lost ALL my trust. I feel we were scammed and lied to. Their lack of follow up and communication only solidified what I thought from our first meeting - they care about money and nothing else. Not patients. Not the experience. Not good customer service. I don't trust them and would never suggest anyone I know to go to them! Do not go here! read more

My kids been coming here over three years now and it's been Great.The last visit with my four year old was so uncomfortable. She is a hyper child with anxiety when it come to a doctors office.When the staff took her to the chair to be seen by Dr. AMY,she saw her and felt much better. When DR. AMY was standing in the open area my daughter was going to hug her and one of her staff stop her after talking to DR AMY and spoke with her and I to informed me she will be seen by another Doctor. All the staff are great but to not embrace my daughter to even say hello was not ok. Another doctor came to check my daughter teeth and he was awesome, but I will not be back. This place was great!! They scheduled an appointment that worked around my schedule, as well as what would be best for my 2 year old. The office is warm, inviting, and great for kids. It's done in a really cute rain Forest theme. The hygienist was patient and understanding with my toddler, who was naturally not pleased to be sitting still and having his mouth looked at. They cleaned, flossed, and did a Fluoride treatment without too much fuss and struggle! Dr. Amy was very nice and answered all of our questions. Highly recommend!! read more

I Love taking my kids to this dentistry!! They enjoy the whole experience and attention the staff delivers from the time you enter the office, until the time you leave! I've recently took my nine year old son and four year old daughter to this office and I fell in love with everything they have to offer. The waiting area is clean and beautifully decorated with an all around jungle theme. A k-cup coffee machine and a flat screen tv are just some material pluses. I was able to go in the back with my daughter, to help ease her in. The first pair of dentist to look at my children were very polite and professional, especially the young woman that was working on my daughter. I was never worried and I know my children were not either. On their next appointment I know it will go as smooth as their first. read more

I had a great experience with them. They got my 18 month old son in for his very first appointment the next day (although I could have even come in the day I called if I could have managed it!) an they were great. The place is don't up in a cool rainforest modern theme. The waiting room has some toys and books to play with. They even have two Playstation video game consoles! There are big windows everywhere which help aid in a relaxing vibe. The assistant and the dentist were both very helpful, patient, and skilled. They answered all my questions and gave me good tips on how to better brush my resistant son's tony teeth. I felt very at ease and left feeling better than I did before I came in! My son wasn't traumatized at all and was actually even joyful enough to smile for their camera when the visit was done. I will happily return and see no reason to go anywhere else. They keep you informed as to what is going on with your child during the visit, and are eager to answer any questions you may have or offer any assistance they can. This is the worst Denist office ever!!!! My daughter had a severe tooth ache. Our primary dentist sent over a referral to Southpoint Pediatric Denistry. We set up the appt and arrived there on time. We waited 30 minutes before she was called back. I completed the new patient form which clearly indicated that my daughter had a cavity, she was unable to eat, was in pain and we were referred there by our Denist to have it fixed. When my daughter and I was called back, the hygienist pulled up the referral and saw the details our dentist put in the form. She then asked me if I wanted her teeth clean while we were there. I told her sure. After she cleaned my daughters teeth which by the way, my daughter was still in pain, she then asked me about x-rays. She told me my dentist had not sent over the x-rays or didn't have any on file. I told them to go ahead with the x-rays which by the way took another 15 minutes for waiting on the room to become available. After the x-rays the dentist came out to look at my daughters mouth. She started rubbing some white gook on her teeth, got it all over her face and then didn't clean off her face. My daughter wanted some water to rinse her mouth and the water machine spray at that station was empty. They brought her a cup of water. My daughter swished and spit but still had gook all over her face. The dentist did not speak to me much until I stood up and looked at the screen they were looking at and chatting about amongst themselves to mark what needed to be done. I started asking questions. She then said she would print out a treatment plan and we could go over it. By the time the hygienist finally entered in the information printed the form the dentist was gone. The hygienist attempted to explain (not the dentist), I was totally confused. They wanted me to come back for four visits to have work done which was not totally understandable on the four different visits, or put her to sleep and get everything done. I was so confused. I again started asking questions regarding the pain she was now feeling and how they were going to fix that tooth, they told me I would have to schedule another appointment because my appointment was for only 30 minutes. I was like what in the heck!!! First of all, I did not realized they only scheduled us for 30 minutes and on top of that you mean to tell me because they offered to clean my daughters teeth that took up her appt time and she couldn't get her tooth repaired. The tooth that was really bothering her was a baby tooth that needed extracting and the gum was infected. The dentist never came back out to talk to me. I ended up talking to several other people that walked up as the hygienist was shrugging her shoulders that she didn't know she was there just for the cavity to be fixed. These people who were not even there from the beginning started to talk to me about how their office appointments work. I am like what in the heck is going on here. I began voicing my concerns strongly and then they offered to remove the tooth. They printed out a bill on how much it would cost with laughing gas and to extract only the one tooth on that side. I told them they indicated from the x-rays that it was two teeth, one in the back that needed extraction and the tooth before that needed a feeling. I questioned why would they not repair that tooth as well. They told me to come out front so she can print the bill. When Aaliyah and I had walked out front in the lobby, they turned off the lights. Can you believe that..... Seriously. She then explained they had only time to extract the one tooth and their office was already closing. She indicated that the tooth in front would be taken are of in another visit. I would have to come back for that. So that would have led to another $163.00 payment of laughing gas to fix that tooth also. I felt some type of way of course that they were attempting to nickle and dime us because we do have insurance and I don't like that one bit. I decided at that time that this wasn't the place of love and care. I couldn't believe they were going to send my daughter home with an infected tooth and gum. I decided to find options elsewhere. My daughter survived through the night with a little Motrin and I called first thing this morning to another pediatric dentist office. That office contacted SouthPoint pediatric and requested them to send over the x-rays and they said I would need to sign a release form. They were to email me an hour ago the release form to sign and haven't done it. I contacted them to ask why they haven't emailed the form they said maybe the email wasn't correct. I told them to read the email address and in fact it was correct because I gave them my email yesterday upon my arrival and feeling out the paperwork. They have yet to email the form as what they indicated it takes a little time. Now its coming up on the 3hr mark and they still haven't emailed the form. read more
