When deciding what foods to have for our reception buffet, we were given sample menus and discussed options that would compliment both our tastes. Another special touch was that during our mocktail hour we were able to change out lemonade for a mango punch since we love mangos and not much of our guests drink lemonade. The invitation said 6, but the wedding didn't start until 7, but no one seemed stressed about it, so I assumed it was an early time on the invite to make sure people didn't arrive late. There was a cash bar, and while I spent $48 without tip on 4 drinks, I'd happily to it again. They poured up a good drink There was an outdoor patio for standing around while we waited for the ceremony to begin, taking pictures, talking and smoking etc. The wedding was lovely overall and this venue only added to the atmosphere. The food was delicious, there was salmon, chicken tenders, brisket, Cesar salad. The collard greens were not to my tasting, but I'm from the south and nobody makes collards better than my grandmas and aunts. Again....Kelly and her team deserve all the accolades for what was seemingly a stress free wedding environment. First, let me be clear about one thing. The drinks themselves were good and the bartenders were fast. Our issue is not with the quality of the cocktails. Our issue is with the lack of transparency beforehand and the inaccurate statements made afterward in response to our review. In the owner's response she stated that she was not aware of our request for mocktails until after booking. That is not correct. We have text messages clearly showing that mocktails were discussed prior to the event. After the agreement was made, we were later told that mocktails would require an additional fee. Although we were ultimately not charged, we were told to purchase additional juices and supplies that ended up being unnecessary. We still have the receipts for those items. She also stated that the spill was caused by a leaking sink at the bar. This is another inaccurate statement. The bar that we rented for the event did not even have a sink. The spill occurred at the bar and the cleanup was done using napkins that we purchased for food service. When the bartenders left, those wet napkins were left stuffed underneath the bar and on the floor. We have photos that clearly show this. Another point mentioned in the response was attire. Our event had an all black dress theme, which was communicated in advance. We have text messages showing that the colors for the baby shower were shared before the event. Despite this, the bartenders arrived wearing pink shirts. Again, the drinks were good and service was fast. But when a business publicly responds to feedback with statements that are not accurate, that becomes a bigger issue than the original concerns. Accountability and honest communication go a long way with clients. We hosted a very special baby shower and simply expected professionalism and transparency throughout the process. Unfortunately, based on our experience and the response we received afterward, we cannot recommend this company.
