Terrible and unpredictable service. Rude in the office. Constantly finding new reasons to not pick up my trash. Unless you are forced to use them, don't. If they didn't have a contract with Gwinnett County they would not be in business. It's awful that we are forced to use them. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more

I have been using Southern Sanitation for more than 5 years and they have never missed a pickup. The service has been excellent and I have never had a complaint. Thought I would be supporting a local business. I signed up for their service a month ago. Still, have not been able to provide me with a can to put my trash in. When I called they told me it was not their fault. Have lied constantly as when the cans would be provided. Would have loved to hear them say, so sorry, we are a small business, running behind, instead, their manager told me it was my fault. Not a great start, will not be used due to the lies. Have requested my money back except for the two weeks in which I had to carry my trash bags to the street. The third-week animals got into the trash, I had to pick up all over the street. Trash being stored in my garage. The manager never apologized for my inconvenience. I guess she thinks we have not a choice. Waiting for a credit for the three months in advance I paid. Will keep you updated. ****I left a message telling them I wanted an immediate Credit. They did credit my account which I give them KUDOS! For. I also let them know we will have a photographer there every day to see when they really receive their containers. It seems odd to write a review about a garbage service but when I saw them on here I had to comment because I've been so happy with their service. I don't know how long I've been using them... A decade? Two? I can't remember but I do remember the people I used before them and I didn't care for them. Every year I get a renewal notice and I pay for the entire year in advance which gets me a discount. I have one large can and a large recycling can just a little smaller. It's me and my wife and four kids in the house so we fill them up every week. I have never, not once, had a gripe about their service. They will even haul off furniture and other large loads periodically if you give them notice. Not every week, but I think every month or quarter or something. I don't do it often enough to remember exactly. My wife does as much shopping as she can online so we always have a mound of boxes also, and they pick them up with no complaint every week. I could not be happier with my service and just renewed for another year last week! read more
