Bought a truck from them that looked 10/10 in the photos and had no visible rock chips and was told it didn't. Get home after 16 hours of driving to find that it has rock chips ALL OVER the side of it and rear. Buying a used car is an experience. However, buying from out of state adds a whole other dilemma. I had searched for several months for a particular Ford Mustang, I found it at Southern Roads Auto via Autotrader. I called and spoke to Chad, he was one of the friendliest sales consultants and very honest, attentive, and not pushy at all. I viewed all of his stores photos of the car, he took his cell phone and went completely over the car, even took me on a virtual drive for about 15 minutes as I was 700 miles away in East Texas. I was impressed with the straight forward answers, as well as Chads eye for minor imperfections, and the effort to secure the car from another state. We worked out a deal, I forwarded the papers and payment, he and Byron secured a company to haul the car across the 700 miles at a reasonable cost. I was very impressed at the car I received, to say the least I was nervous, but I should not have worried. It was impeccable, clean and exactly as described to me by Chad. Went to see a 2012 Ford F250HD Monday and Chad was there to assist me. Can't say enough good things about Chad. He gently took me through the credit and finance process. I took the truck to be inspected and this 2012 had nothing wrong that could be noted by Pep Boys. Once I bought the truck I had to get my car home also so I rented a Uhaul auto transport. My Mercedes was soo low that pulling all the way onto the transport would damage my front spoiler. Chad got some wood out the back, cut it, put it under my front tires to raise high enough to prevent damage. Did I say he also gave me a tow hitch and ball to get the rental. A couple of months back, maybe six months or so I came in looking for a suburban or Tahoe and from the moment I got there I just knew there was something different about this car dealership. Chad and Byron were some of the nicest down to earth guys and the car buying experience was the best that we have ever experienced in our 20+ years of driving and buying cars. About two months into having my car it started having some mechanical issues and I took it back to them and they referred me to a local mechanic shop. Turns out my warranty company that I bought with the car wasn't so great and didn't pay for a lot of the repair so Byron, the owner of Southern Roads stepped up and paid more money for the repair of the car then the warranty company. leaving me to only owe a few hundred dollars. On top of that he let me drive some of his vehicles that he could have been selling free of charge while my vehicle was in the shop for over three weeks. Now let me clarify that I bought this vehicle with the buyers guide as is no warranty and really he owed me nothing, but he was such a genuine guy that he chose to sacrifice his own good for my sake. Fast forward to a few weeks ago about (6 months) my car started making the very same sound as before and went through the process of breaking down much quicker to the point where my engine completely stopped and would no longer work. When we took it to a dealership they said that we need a new engine and the warranty company wouldn't pay for it because they had already sent the supposed parts to be fixed the first time around. I'm not even sure why I called and spoke with Chad and Byron maybe it was just because I felt like out of all of the people that I dealt with they were the only ones I could trust. I was looking for direction I think. not only did they hear my story Byron decided to step up and buy an engine for my vehicle, have it shipped out here and pay for all the parts that require the warranty for the engine. FOLKS HE BOUGHT ME AN ENGINE!!!!!! I have never in my life thought of car dealers as good people. they always seem like sleazy crooks who you have to wheel and deal with just to get somewhat of a bargain and you never really know if they're telling you the truth. however, I don't think I will ever purchase a vehicle anywhere else other than southern roads. These two Christian men stepped up and did something for my family that I could not do and I am so honored and grateful to give them this review Might I also throw in that the mechanic shop (hometown tire)also stepped up and is doing the right thing and they're replacing the engine for me that Byron bought free of charge. Purchasing a used vehicle is always a little nerve-racking, even after all the research and due diligence, it's hard to shake the feeling you might be purchasing a money-pit (I've been burned by a small dealership in the past if you couldn't tell ;-)... But I can say that both Byron and Chad both did an amazing job minimizing those concerns. I really couldn't have asked for a better experience when purchasing my "new-to-me" truck. Right out the gate Chad was straight up with us about the existing issues and reassured me they would be fixed prior to purchasing.
