Always a great time at Southern! Been in town for almost 2 years and this place has been consistently great every visit. The girls are all so sweet and accommodating and the food and specials are delicious and fresh. We love coming here regularly and are so excited to try their spring specials! Keep up the good work girls!

Friendly service and good tasty food. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. We were on a road trip from Asheville to Richmond and wanted to stop to eat at a local business. This was a great stop. We ate at the sidewalk tables because we were traveling with two dogs. There were some nice creative choices on the menu. my husband had the Main Street, I had the Holler and a chai tea latte. we also got two slices of cheesecake to go. Both sandwiches were delicious! Chai Tea wonderful and cheesecake creamy and smooth. We then took a nice walk around South Boston on their beautiful town streets. Nice visit and stroll for the dogs.

Whether you're a local or just driving through South Boston, Southern Plenty should be at the top of your places to visit. I live in town now but I grew up just outside of Boston, Massachusetts where I experienced my fair share of truly good food. That's the one thing I miss about the North, but Southern Plenty fills that great big void in my heart. I try to be a regular and I bring every one of my family members and friends who come to visit me here. Their response is each the same, they ADORE it. Often wishing to visit it more than once during their stay. Their bacon and cheddar quiche is entirely exquisite, surpassing even my own mother's, who up until this point made the best quiche I had ever eaten. I'll order it for breakfast with a side of their hash brown casserole (which is pure comfort food) or I'll order it for lunch with a side of their pickled beets and goat cheese (soooooo refreshing and savory). There's always something fresh to try on their specials and my favorite thus far has been their cream cheese stuffed French toast with lemon curd and blueberries. In my opinion, those toppings should be added to the menu permanently, they're that good! Sure, not everything on the menu is my favorite but that's just my own personal taste and not the restaurants problem. It should be noted too just how delightful the staff are. Each one is personable, helpful, and kind. They become friends, with their hearts visible through their smiles. They work very hard, all while maintaining a joyful spirit and environment. They're what make this spot truly special. It wouldn't be the same without each of them. If you want to come visit while avoiding a wait, try visiting midweek. Saturday's here are BUSY. It is a smaller cafe, though they certainly offer ample seating for their size! Including some lovely outdoor seating if the weather allows. There is a recent negative review on here that I feel is completely unnecessary and would like to acknowledge. It makes me upset to see how quick people are to leave negative reviews for small businesses because unwarranted reviews like that can mean a businesses livelihood. And if you don't have a valid reason to leave a pitiful 1 star review, don't leave one at all. The individual was upset at how long they had to wait on a Saturday, how people weren't giving up their tables, and how the business should expand. Yes, Saturdays here will be a longer wait time. Everyone wants to bring their whole family. So if you're in a rush - don't go during rush time. Please remember this is a VERY small town and Southern Plenty is not only a favorite of the locals, it's part of the heart and soul of this town. It's a happy family friendly environment and welcomes everyone to "come and stay awhile". It fosters heartfelt catchups and memories with little ones and grandparents. Don't rush people out of that experience and don't try to change it. Love it for what it is and appreciate what it has to offer. If you don't like it, go somewhere else, there's a real quick McDonald's right down the road.

Great ambiance with coffee, food, and more! Very cute boutique style coffee/sandwich cafe. With a corner spot on Main Street, it's conveniently located with parking along the street and definitely feels like a hole in the wall. The staff was quick to help and menu items were craft and selective, along with the decor throughout. Highly recommend anyone passing through the area to stop in!

We were running behind getting to town so shifted gears to re-arrange errands a d where we ere going to eat. I had already put this location on my list so we decided to have lunch. A local mentioned is was also one of their favorite places. It was definitely busy, small and cozy and not a lot of seating inside. They showcase local artists and sell there items which is really nice and adds to the decor. The food is a little eclecticwhich always intrigues me. The have Mimosa's and spike coffee at good prices. The regular coffee was very good and a plentiful serving. The food was delicious and all the different flavors of what we ordered went perfectly qith each other. It's not far from where I live in NC so I can see myself returning.

She told us to help our selves to tea or water and she would be right with us. She was making a wrap that looked amazing! We settled on the build your own bowls. I had a steak bowl full of tender steak strips and fresh greens, it was great to have riced cauliflower as an alternate grain option. Vast menu full of healthy options of smoothies açaí bowls and wraps. The vibe was very laid back portion sizes were large and served in cute boxes. No issues with parking. All of the customers were friendly to us and we all conversed as we waited for our lunches. We are traveling but I'm going back tomorrow for zoodlesagne!! I felt the love at love cafe!

Found the Love Cafe just a couple miles off the highway, and definitely worth the little "detour". It's small but charming with an open kitchen and literally everything done in front of you. If you are the type that doesn't want to know what a real working kitchen looks like, keep rolling because this isn't your place. Love Cafe offers soups, salads, bowls, smoothies, breakfast, tacos, and wraps. We popped in at about 1:30 and they even offered to serve us breakfast, if we wanted it (typically stop serving after 10:30) which was very sweet. I got one of their bowls which are customizable or you can order one of their staple options. Bowls are served with your choice of protein options, base (quinoa, rice or Cali rice), 6 toppings like black beans, cheeses, veggies and sunflower seeds, and sauce/dressings. I got the chicken bowl with sesame ginger dressing and it was made fresh and a great healthy option for something fast. My travel companion got the Shrimp tacos with mango salsa. The "tacos" were more like a large burrito type tortilla cut in half to make two "tacos". Shrimp was ok but not really seasoned or special. This felt like an open wrap more than a taco. But still a nice option for a quick lunch on the healthy side. All in all we were very happy that we found this cute spot, would be happy to return and try other items. Friendly service and a bright spot to our day!

I had a small PB&J smoothie bowl, Golden Butter Curry Bowl, and a Chai Latte; my buddy had a smoothie bowl, Buffalo Tofu Wrap, and a fresh pressed apple juice that was a lovely light chartreuse color. We were going to eat on the nice covered patio but the thunderstorm moved in and the rain was lashing in so we ate inside comfortably situated watching the light show outside. After eating we shopped for supplies in the attached natural grocery then headed home in the sunshine.

The result was robustly flavored and fit my need for an early meal. The location is part of a mixed residential and retail complex that was a bit odd to navigate. They also had a bunch of smoothies and such, and I noted one customer who actually asked for the non-dairy nut milk to be replaced with dairy milk. I found it amusing that we've gotten to a point where someone ordering food has to explain that they're not a vegan. If you are avoiding dairy, however, there's plenty for you here, and I could not expect a small place in a town like this to fill its niche much better.
