Compared to most other malls, my husband and I thought that Southern Park Mall was very "alive." We saw lots of people walking around, and kids were playing with car-shaped buggies, rideable stuffed animals, and a train. Maybe the mall was busy because we visited on a Sunday afternoon. Furthermore, the mall looked to be in good, clean condition. Currently, the anchor stores are Macy's and JCPenney, and other stores are American Eagle, Claire's, Foot Locker, Hollister, H&M, Shoe Dept., Tilly's, Victoria's Secret, Yankee Candle, etcetera. Several restaurants include Auntie Anne's, BJ's, Chick-fil-A, a couple of Japanese restaurants, etcetera. The mall also has a movie theater and Debartolo Commons that has fields to play on. I deducted one star from my review, because I found only one item to buy. read more

Southern park mall used to be a wonderful mall to go and hang out with family and friends. Their stores were wonderful now there's absolutely. Nothing left. Any good stores are leaving. And of all things. They decide to go and put in a walking something. If you want to go walking, there is a planet fitness right in there and also it's nice out walk outside. I want to mall where I can go shopping where I can buy some thing I could see it feel it touch it. Someplace that is fun and it feels welcoming this mall does not do it anymore! I have to say they need to take some tips from the Eastwood mall who is really banging they have gone above and beyond within the last five years and this is where I go now if I want to go to the mall with friends or family or if I want a really good store there's many to choose from, and they are always very welcoming read more

I was in the area, and thought I would see how my childhood mall was doing, spoiler alert, it doing great! I saw stores like Express, Hollister, H&M, Tilly's, GNC, and one of my favorite stores, Touchdown Gifts. That store in particular has a bunch of sports stuff. But the rest of the mall also had a Sunglass Hut, which i picked up a pair of Tiffany & Co, which are fantastic! Then I went to Macy*s. They have this very nice, & cheap thing called "Backstage". The only other one I saw, was @ Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh, so its nice to see one close to home! I then walked down to Steel Valley Brewing, and got a coffee, it was again, GREAT!! My only complaint was that Dillards went away, that store was soo nice!!! But ill attach some old photos I saved from FB to show y'all what's inside. read more

Sad place to see back in the day it was the spot to go. We used to hang out and have fun see everyone you know. Now it's like a ghost town every shop there are workers playing on their phones or sitting board as hell , this was fashion street central now I have no idea what people come here for anymore. I did a little holiday shopping last night at the Southern Park Mall. It got me thinking about the FTR on this place. I don't care to become a respond-to-defend-my-hometown Yelper. I think the beauty of Yelp is that it's a bunch of opinions, that can be taken as just that. I don't mean to offend anyone, so I apologize if that happens. But I read with a touch of bewilderment, the reviews that slam the area rather than the place. Especially when written by people who don't seem to have any link to this area, or who have moved away and see some need to make this place look bad in order to justify the move they've made. Such is the case when I read the FTR of the Southern Park Mall. The place is kinda ghetto? At the risk of painting a bulls-eye on my chest, I've been to quite a few malls, around the country and around the globe. Although there is little that makes this mall standout from your average mall, it isn't ghetto. It's clean. It's big enough to contain most of the stores you'd need. There's ample, safe parking all around. The Food Court, if you have to, is nice. The people that work there are generally quite friendly and helpful. In the end, I think the lesson to take away from all this for me is that just about any mall is somebody's mall. Maybe not a place of deep pride, but a place that one goes to comfortably and sees as the standard. And that could be said about many of the things that we review here on Yelp. I'll think a bit more the next time I prepare to slam a place just because I don't think it measures up to my standards. Average mall with nothing spectacular but has the necessities to get your shopping fix. Fun fact, the food court has a Dairy Queen/Orange Julius so you don't have to go 15-20 minutes either way to find a stand along Dairy Queen . read more

This place has the weirdest layout of any mall I have ever stepped foot in. Instead of it being a somewhat circular mall or one with one central hub that would cause for a person to go with the flow in mall traffic, it just does whatever the hell it wants. I should say that this wasn't my first visit here, but I don't remember it being this complicated. I mean, I know that stores will remodel, change locations, or just close up shop. But I did not remember anything about this mall. Simon, you suck. I walked to my own beat in here, almost running into people on several occasions (seriously Ohio, what's the deal with going to the mall in full sweatsuit garb?). I checked out a few stores, but wasn't impressed with anything. The food court, or let me specify here, the south food court looked like it could please the palate. However, the north "food court" isn't really a food court. You have like 2 1/2 eateries there. The half being because the one place had a sign that said, "Moving to the food court." That should tell you that you don't have two food courts here. I doubt I'll ever make a deliberate trip here, but it's decent enough to stop and pass the time if you are meeting up with someone. read more

The Southern Park Mall is overall an alright place to shop. This has always been the most convenient mall for me to shop at. I have also worked at this mall for many years. The Southern Park Mall's business is declining, and therefore, many stores are closing their locations at this mall. There are some really great stores left, but there are also a lot of vacant stores or stores that are not really popular or well known. There are four major anchor stores here, including Macy's, JCPenney, and Dillard's, and Sears. In addition, there are some other popular stores, like Victoria's Secret, Victoria's Secret PINK, Bath & Body Works, Claire's, Charlotte Russe, Hot Topic, Rue 21, Express, Francesca's Collections, American Eagle, Tilly's, and Zumiez, just to name a few. There are various dining options, with the best ones probably being Auntie Anne's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Bruno Bros, Chick-Fil-A, Gloria Jean's, Sarku Japan, Sbarro. This mall is conveniently located in the center of Boardman, with lots of surrounding stores and restaurants, as well as a movie theater next door. Although there have been a few recent updates to the mall, it honestly needs a lot more work. There are stained carpets, cracked tiles, leaking roofs, and outdated decor. The mall could benefit from more security officers and maintenance/janitorial staff members. The bathrooms are always filthy, and a lot are in need of repair. The security officers cannot keep up with the issues in the mall. More security would definitely make people feel safer shopping here. I still come this mall frequently, and I plan on continuing to come here. However, I definitely hope that some improvements can be made at the Southern Park Mall and that some more stores choose to locate themselves here. This is not by any means a super fancy high end shopping destination, but I would recommend shopping here if you're okay with the average shopping mall experience. read more

Went here yesterday and had a great time! They have many stores I like and it was easy to spend the whole day here. This mall is pretty large! Definitely got some exercise in...lol! There's a good mix of stores for all types of people and the food court selection is pretty good. I didn't eat there but I did get a smoothie. Plenty of parking and easy to access. read more

Compared to the only other mall in the area, I think this one wins. They just have a mix of everything. I've learned to appreciate indoor malls in inclement weather. They also have Gloria Jeans which is just good for a good cup of coffee and people watching. read more

Tiny, not a great selection of stores...but I guess it gets the job done? It's not like Boardman is a huge city with a ton of mall-goers or anything, so I'm sure this does the trick for the people that live here. If you're an out of towner, don't go out of your way to come here. It's not impressive and set up really awkwardly. It felt like there was one long main corridor with random wings you could go down...but that makes for double the walking considering you have to walk down each little hall, then come back up to get to the main corridor again and go down another hall, and then come back up...maybe it's not even set up that way, but it was so confusing I couldn't even tell. The "food court" (if you can call it that--mostly crappy chinese and fast food) is split up into different wings of the mall as well, so all of the options are not in the same place...it's kind of a mess. But like I said, there are enough department (Macy's, Dillard's, Sears, JC Penny) and other regular mall stores (Gap, Express, Charlotte Russe, etc.) to get the job done if you're in the need for a quick outfit or something to waste time on. read more

There are some good stores throughout the mall, but it is a confusing structure and the parking lots are always in terrible shape! Speaking as a former retail employee at Southern Park, I don't believe in my 6 years of work I have ever seen them pave the lot once. They are at least attempting to update the interior and bring in more surrounding restaurants and attractions so that the mall is more inviting. Compared to some of the other surrounding malls (Robinson, Beachwood, Ross Park), it is definitely not kept in as good of shape, but they are finally starting to put some effort into the mall. read more

Ok, I am stuck here in this small town and that is why I am writing this review. This is the saddest mall that I have ever been to in my life! There are no "designer" stores to shop from. Macy's and Dillards are NOT designer stores. The selection at both these stores is very limited and sadly they have a horrible "desinger" handbag and shoe selction. Wake up! Any mall that does not have a Nordstroms is not worth going into, in my opinion. This mall is a joke! read more
