There are walking trails that go through the woods, an off-leash dog area, and multiple mixed-use sportsball/athletic fields. On hot days, the splash pad area is the place to be, making for a safe space for kids and families to cool off and enjoy the sun. The frisbee disc golf course is one of the real hooks to the park, nicely laid out and maintained, and providing differing levels of challenge. Public restrooms are all around, the playground and splash pad area have soft landing spots, and it is generally well lit and safe all through the park. There are even several canopy areas with tables, allowing for picnics or other gathering use and mostly just to get out of the Alabama sun. Get out and enjoy the greenspace, Mobile, it's a beautiful place.

There is a small gymnasium for gymnastics in the MAWSS water tower. Parking is decent, but I have never visited on game days. ALOT of people walking and running. Park is open from dawn to dusk like all other parks in Mobile. The playground is the best of all the parks in my opinion. It is fairly busy, but not so much that would make you visit elsewhere.

This a great park that offers something for everyone in a beautiful, tree covered area. In addition…read moreto the children's play areas, there is a splash pad, 6 tennis courts, 3 basket ball courts, a football field, a baseball complex with batting cages, a softball complex with batting cages, a soccer complex with a children's play area, a 1/4 mile walking track with warm up equipment, 2 fenced dog parks, and multiple pavilions with anywhere from 1-15 tables under them. They can be reserved through the website. In the same area, there is also a horse arena, a model airplane field, and Some adult softball fields. Whispering pines golf course is across the street. Singing River internet now offers wifi at the park as well. This park is safe and fun, even at night. I believe it's open from dawn until 10 pm every day. The only thing that would make it better would be better accommodations for those in wheelchairs. There are no zero entry swings or other play activities. There are two swings that an adult could strap a child into, but the swings are not large and the adult would need to either push a wheelchair across woods chips or carry them. Just a thought.

There are boat ramps for fishing or kayaking. There is a playground for the kids, and picnic tables, but I cant remember if there were BBQ pits. Lots of birds to watch. There are no signs posted, but be aware there are alligators in the Dog River, just like any other waterway on the Gulf Coast
