Unsatisfied Patient Over the past three years, I have…read moreconsulted with Dr. Robinson approximately three times. Recently, he determined that surgery was necessary to alleviate the pain in my foot caused by arthritis. The first issue arose after my consultation regarding the surgery; he mentioned that someone would contact me with a surgery date. However, when I did not receive any communication, I reached his office, only to find that there were no records of a scheduled surgery. The second issue occurred during my pre-operative visit when I arrived at his office, only to discover that the notes contained incorrect information regarding the foot and the procedure. At that visit Dr. Robinson reassured me that we were aligned on the details of the procedure. The third issue happened at the hospital, the day of the surgery. The nurse confirmed the surgery and procedure, but it was for the wrong foot and the incorrect procedure. It appeared that the details had not been communicated to the hospital, resulting in the same errors. While I found Dr. Robinson to be very kind during my visits, the inconsistencies made me uncomfortable with proceeding with the surgery. Consequently, I consulted with Dr. Shapiro in the same practice the following day and was very satisfied with his recommendations and the proposed next steps.
