Heritage Distilling Co. Tumwater

Heritage Distilling Co. Tumwater

We came to Heritage on Saturday afternoon. We had such a great time here! Their tasting room and…read moreshop is lovely to walk around-the first thing I noticed was their barware fully on display. They don't just feature their spirits, but they also have a great selection of glasses, bitters, and bar accessories. We are considering getting a membership to them-I love that they have so many promotions and deals (Monday-Thursday, they have different specials for the week). They have a variety of seating-indoor, outdoor and even a cute booth! My first shout out here is that they promote mocktails alongside their cocktails-everyone deserves to drink fancily, regardless if they drink alcohol. I love to see that. We seated ourselves and each ordered a flight. I ordered the aquavit, their gin, their sweet pepper vodka and their bacon vodka. I was blown away by their aquavit-it was wonderful. While I did not pick up any on this specific visit, it is in the back of my mind a few days later. Their gin is nice and dry, and their sweet ghost pepper vodka was unusual but great. The sweet ghost pepper vodka would definitely give a new spin on a bloody mary! Their Bacon vodka was my favorite for the day, and I ended up buying a bottle. I love that this was a bacon-maple vodka, and it was well balanced and not too sweet. Their flights are absolutely worth it-the quality of their spirits is excellent, and it is a good way to get to know a distillery better. Before this visit, I had only had their Mango Vodka, which is what brought me to the distillery in the first place. Leaving Heritage, my new favorites are their Bacon Vodka, their Sweet Pepper Ghost Vodka, and their Aquavit. Shoutout to Carol! What a wonderful lady. She gave us excellent recommendations for our tasting and ideas to try at home with each spirit. We bought some extra mini bottles because of her recommendations, and we were able to try some spirits we either didn't think of, or Heritage's take on a type of spirit. Our visit here was the highlight of our weekend. We will be coming back with friends.

This location is right near the Tumwater Craft District and even though it isn't in the main building for that it may be considered a part of it since it's literally across the parking lot. I really liked this location as it has a great patio view. I really liked the merchandise and had my eyes set on an Art Deco flask that is exclusive to their tasting rooms. We usually get flights if we are planning to stay and we got the Lemon Drop Trio Flight which made up of Florence Vodka, Peach Vodka and Coconut Vodka. All very sweet but very tasty. This distillery is a great addition to this area and to the Craft District and offers a different option if a person doesn't want a cider or a craft beer from the options in the main building.

I wanted to allow our friends and family time to talk about the meaningful times that we were lucky enough to spend with a man that meant so much to so many. Since I live in Portland, I knew it would be challenging to find a space online. I grew up in Olympia, and it has changed a lot. I found somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 possibilities. When I stumbled across the website for the Abigail Stuart House, it just felt right. I called Carolyn, who rents the house and found out that it was available for the 26th when I needed it. We scheduled a tour for the Friday prior. Perfect. The rental included tables, chairs, a very roomy full kitchen with all kinds of serving trays and cooking utensils, an oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Most places didn't have such a full set up. For the most part things have to be rented separately. The only thing we needed to provide were tablecloths. Easy. Since it's an historic property it has a lot of charm. High ceilings, hardwood floors, a foyer with space to hang coats, a parlor with comfortable sofas and cushy chairs. The parlor also has a baby grand piano, and gas fireplace. There is a bathroom on the main floor, as well as a men's and women's restroom upstairs. There is room to accommodate up to 150 in the main room. Plenty of space for everyone. Carolyn gave me the tour, and I paid on the spot. They only charge $400 all inclusive for the full day and night, with a $250 refundable deposit. You don't even have to clean. We only needed to put away the tables and chairs, and place anything from the kitchen that we used in the dishwasher before we left. It wasn't rented Saturday, so she was kind enough offer it to me for an additional $100 so that I could set up beforehand. I was so grateful to have the opportunity to do so. I don't think you can find such an affordable deal anywhere! They're incredibly easy to work with. It's centrally located downtown, and has a parking lot to accommodate 22 cars. There is also ample street parking. It would be ideal for wedding receptions, reunions, or about anything else you might need. I was able to pick up my full deposit the following Tuesday morning. I can't recommend them highly enough. Take a look at their website, and see for yourself. The money from the rental also benefits many local charities, as an added bonus.
