We only stayed one night - so maybe I didn't get the full experience as others in the reviews. We…read morecalled this hotel at 3AM after flying into Miami, they had rooms available and it was $250. Our previous hotel gave away our reservation even though we called previously in the day to inform them we would be flying in overnight, so we were in a bind. The staff were kind and helpful. When we were venting to each other about our other hotel, they checked in with us that we didn't have a bad experience with them and apologized for how the other hotel treated us (it wasn't a Holiday Inn). There was breakfast available, but it is $20 a person. We were able to see there was an indoor and outdoor pool. The room was clean and everything seemed to be in working order.

AVOID -Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I'm a disabled traveler, and we reserved the hotel shuttle for 4:00 PM, but it didn't arrive until 4:40 PM. The driver was rude and dropped us at Door #3, while our airline was at Door #23, about a 20-minute walk away. We were unfamiliar with the airport, and when we asked for help, he told us he wasn't familiar with Miami Airport. After we missed our flight, the manager told us to return to the hotel and promised a complimentary room. When we returned, he refused to honor that promise and was extremely rude. He stated that I "didn't look like I had a disability" and accused me of "lying." The situation escalated when the manager physically assaulted me after accusing me of recording him with my phone, which I was not doing. I called 911, obtained a police report, and then left the property. On top of everything else, the room was dirty, the shower water was cold, and there was no complimentary breakfast, despite what we expected from the hotel. As a disabled traveler, this experience was frightening and extremely difficult. Very poor communication, customer service, cleanliness, and accountability.

Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff…read more Checked in late on Friday night and the woman at the front desk was very kind, helpful and funny. They were fully booked and unfortunately oversold the suite which I had booked online (non refundable) but the manager had a different room ready for us and gave us a 50% discount. Thankfully our plans changed last minute and only 2 adults came on the trip; this allowed the manager's arraignment to work nicely. The room was very clean, had a pleasant fragrance and housekeeping were working diligently to maintain a welcoming environment. The only downside was limited available parking and the fire pit outside was out of service, we had a cold front in FL so the fire pit would have been perfect at night. Upon checkout the same friendly face was at the desk. This will be a regular hotel for us to visit when in Miami. Thank you to the management and staff for providing exceptional service.

Requested additional pillows on app before arriving, after arriving requested again with front desk. After dinner requested a third time after returning to room following dinner. After waiting an additional 30 minutes I called the front desk again only to be told they had no additional pillows. The treat was the in-house restaurant. Our bartender/server Sore was wonderful. I enjoyed the chicken quesadilla and my wife raved about the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The cocktails at the bar were well prepared.

We stayed here for a quick 3 day trip in Miami. It was close to the highway through a backroad so…read moretraffic was not a problem reaching the hotel. From the view of the lobby, the pool gate is padlocked so we assumed it was closed but there is a second gate to the right that allows access. There is no hot tub and only an outdoor pool. When entering the room, it had a musty smell but as we stayed we didn't notice it. It seemed like it rained the day before we arrived, so possibly that was the reason. We had only a standup shower in our bathroom and the floor of it looked dirty - not sure if stained or if it hadn't been scrubbed. The shower does flood the bathroom from an opening in the shower door. There was also construction noise outside at night 9pm-12am. The staff were nice and helpful. There is free breakfast in the mornings, I would get up early or take some back to the room because it gets busy! There were front parking spots every night for us and I would expect Semi's to be parked around since it is so close to the highway. The shower water pressure was great, water got really hot (just how I like it), and everything was in working order. Everything looked clean besides the shower floor. Overall, I think it was a great cheap option to stay in Miami! Just nitpicking little things that might bother others.

The bed and blankets were incredibly comfortable. While there is a cost for parking, the hotel's location is perfect, surrounded by plenty of great restaurants. The good: I appreciated being able to check in early, which was very convenient. The front desk staff were friendly, and the hotel itself is modern, clean, and well-located. This part of town was not in existence last time I visited Miami so I was in awe. There's a lot to do here. The room, though a bit small, was nicely designed and comfortable. The not-so-good: I had called ahead to confirm whether the in-room coffee machine used K-Cups, and was told it did so I purchased pods in advance. Turns out, they use a different, hard-to-find type of pod, which was frustrating and felt like a waste. I was told rooms would be serviced every other day, but my room was never serviced at all even after I brought it up at the front desk. That was a major letdown in terms of basic expectations from a hotel. The lobby bar looked convenient, but it always seemed empty except for a few bored patrons, so I never felt inclined to check it out. Overall, it's a decent hotel in a great part of town, but the lack of follow-through on service and small but avoidable annoyances keep it from being a top pick. I'd consider staying again, but I'd definitely explore other options first especially those with more consistent room service and better in-room amenities.

The staff…read morewas friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming, and the room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what I expect from the Aloft brand. My only complaint is the EV charging situation. Aloft shares the charging station with Element, and one of the charging cables has apparently been down for over two years. That's kind of wild for a Marriott property, especially with more guests traveling with EVs. Marriott, you've got to step it up and get that fixed! Outside of that, the stay was great and I really enjoyed the property. I'll definitely be back again!

Ala Clint Eastwood - To a man on the road, there are three kinds of hotels:…read more The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Here is how the Aloft Miami Doral stacks up. The Good The staff here are pleasant and professional, and the cleaning crew does a great job; I had no cleanliness concerns during my stay. The room design reminds me of an upscale dorm room or a hostel, which works for this brand. A major plus is the 107 Steak and Bar attached to the Element Hotel, which shares the back courtyard--it's a fantastic place to grab a meal or drink without leaving the property. If you do venture out, La Terrezza and MIA Still & Brewery are both nearby and are great choices. The gym is solid, and the lobby is laid out nicely for working or networking. The music has a beat, but it isn't overpowering like at the Moxy. You also get plenty of free parking with your pass, and the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. The Bad The technology is a bit behind the times. The TVs don't have an easy streaming option for Netflix, and there are no premium movie channels. If you are someone who needs to unpack, take note: there is no drawer space. They provide an iron, but there is no steamer available for your clothes. The Ugly A person on the road for work looks forward to two comforts: a good bed and a hot shower. This place only delivered on the first. The best the shower could do was "pretty warm," which just doesn't cut it when you're trying to relax after a long day. Then there's the coffee. The lobby coffee was weak and undrinkable both days; I've had bad lobby coffee before, but rarely would I rather throw it away than drink it. The breakfast was also a letdown. The burrito was essentially a frozen, microwaved meal. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was passable, but for just a few more dollars, you should go across the street to La Terrezza and treat yourself to a real meal.
