Very poor customer service. I asked for help to check a tire pressure since it was showing a low pressure on the car monitor. I had bought 4 tires there recently. No help was offered unless I brought the car back next day. I have since found out from another service source that the problem was a fault monitor. read more

Took my vehicle there for an inspection on a potential purchaser's request. Extremely unprofessional. I was told I would receive a copy of the inspection. Instead, they informed me of "red flags" with the engine. I never received a copy of their inspection or any real explanation as to what the problem was. A previous interested buyer had an inspection done less than 100kms ago and found nothing wrong with the engine. read more

My vehicle had a starting problem. They told me the starting problem was my computer and yet the problem persisted after they replaced the computer. Which by the way is an expensive fix. Brought it back to them a second time and they couldn't find what was wrong. Eventually I picked it back up, and a few days later ended up finding it was a couple bad relays in the fuse box. I'm quite surprised that a professional automotive repair shop would miss something so simple. Basically I spent over $1000 on a repair that should have been $5 part + 5 minutes of labour. read more

Took my truck (2007 GMC Sierra 4.8) with a very noticeable vibration occuring in the front end. Truck was diagnosed within the next day (dropped off at 2pm, diagnosed by 9am next morning). Mechanic personally called to tell me it wasn't CV or bearing related, could have easily sold me into it unnecessary work. Suggested an alignment and wheel rotation, and was ready by 11am. What could have been 1000+ was less than two hundred bucks. Honest mechanics are rare and should be recognized. A+ read more

I had never trusted mechanics until going here about 10 years ago. It is a family owned/run shop and I can tell they take pride in being honest and thorough, which is rare in my experience. I have been taking my cars to SouthPro for years and love these guys. I dropped in this morning as my wife's car had a burnt-out headlight bulb - I stopped in at 8 and was out at 8:20 (with no appointment) and the bill was $35. What????? When was the last time you took your car to a mechanic and had a $35 bill! They have saved me $1,000's in repair bills over the years. They give me frank practical advice and don't let me spend money on things that don't need to be done. My Pilot has over 400,000 kms on it and they keep it running great. I see a couple of negative reviews here and have no idea what those folks are talking about - I've have nothing but positive stories with SouthPro. read more

I will never take my car anywhere else! South Pro is a family run business and a place that I trust. I know in the past I've gone to car dealerships for oil changes, Mr. Lube, etc. and they always try to sell you parts or services that aren't needed. I think the reason this place doesn't have too many reviews is because their client base consists of two groups of people: folks who have been coming here for decades because it's great, honest service and don't realize that other people who don't know about this place yet might look online for a good service shop, and folks who lead super busy lives, depend on their cars to get them to their more-than-fulltime-worksites and don't actually have time to write reviews. I totally trust these guys. They've serviced my family's cars for years, and we've never come away with the feeling they have padded the bill at all or done work when it wasn't necessary. When I bought my first car secondhand, I brought it to them first for an inspection - and even after paying them for their time, being able to take their sheet back to the seller and pointing out a few minor issues needing fixing saved me about three hundred bucks on the final sale price of my car. Two years on, I haven't had any problems worth mentioning on the car. read more

After contacting a bunch of shops yesterday to get a rush wheel alignment I called Shaun at South Pro Auto and he told me to come right down. When I got there they were great guys and very accommodating. The car was not easy to work on being a 53 year old classic but they did a perfect job for a fair price and got me right back on the road. Have been going there for years and had a few major repairs, like my clutch. The service has been top notch. Very honest and knowledgeable have always taken time to explain things to me as well. Prices have always been fair for the work that is required. While a clutch replacement is not necessarily cheap, I have never felt ripped of or cheated. An honest shop and highly recommended. Absolute joke - left my vehicle here for a month and the vehicle came back the same as I left it after a giant bill. No customer service, they just want to make a buck. Constantly told they don't have time to look at the truck so eventually just took it back. Wouldn't recommend and will not be returning read more

I recently moved to Calgary from Australia 12 mths ago and cannot believe the service I get from these guys Nothing is too much bother and ALWAYS ask before completing any work found during a service Always can fit you in . My only worry recomending these guys is they may get too busy and I cannot get my car repaired /service (just joking) they are very fairly priced and even offer the empty box for components used to prove they are new items !!! world class service read more

I needed to fix my brakes and have a tune-up. The service was great! They showed me the brakes while I was waiting and explained everything while I was there. I had tires & lights done too, I forgot to ask about the lights, but they added them in, which was nice of them. They finished the work before noon and called me to give me a quote. Everything was prompt and efficient. Ryan was very helpful and pleasant! He even offered me a ride to the train station, which i didnt need, but it was good of him to offer! A friendly dog was hanging around too. I usually don't write reviews or anything, but the service was excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

Sue McC An addition to the review previously written, when I took the vehicle back a week or so after repair, a mechanic took my car for approx. 10 minutes returned and said he had added more air conditioning fluid (Frezone I believe it is) and he wanted to charge me. Anyway, drove around the air conditioning worked on high but still had to open window. When the air conditioning ceased this year, took the vehicle in and told mechanic he had not added enough Frezone? the first time. His reply was he would have to put it on a machine before he could add more and the cost would be $175.00...odd, when I returned vehicle first time to have whatever added he did not put it on a machine that time, just added more. BBB should look into this mechanic shop. No attempt to help whatever. I cannot afford to have this repaired again and wonder if the shop has the decency to call me to have their error fixed. read more

I unfortuatley took my vehicle to South Pro Automotive to get my annual transmission oil flush. The next day after servicing i was driviing uphill (Not far from my place) when suddenly the transmission stopped working. It started to roll back down the hill. It felt like the vehicle all of a sudden went into neutral. when the vehicle reached the bottom I tried to go up the hill again and it rolled back for the second time as luck would have it i narowly excaped hittting another vehicle. My nerves were so shot i was petrified to drive it. I decided to call the AMA to give me a tow. When AMA showed up i explained what occured thus we checked over all the oils and when we looked at the transmission oil it wasn't even registering on the dip stick. There was no oil dripping underneath the car, on the hill, and where i parked overnight. The vehicle never moved from my underground parking spot till i drove it from my place the next day after it was serviced. AMA driver said i barely had any fliuid in the transmission so when i went uphill there wasnt enough fluid to for it to function properly. As it seems South Pro forgot to put the fliud in when they flushed it the day before. AMA towed it over to South Pro i stood by and observed the machanic put the fluid in and it took approx 4 LItres to fill. When seen that i suspected it was close to empty. I got a very cold reception from the owner and his son when i approached them about it. The owner thought it was no cause for concern for the missing fluid. The owner might be plesant when things are good but when you question any of the work they did your in for a VERY RUDE AWAKENING! If i was the owner i would never treat my customers like that. Teated me nasty like i shouldnt even brought it to their attention. South Pro would even acknowledge it. SO MUCH FOR HONESTY!! I could of hurt myself or someone else for that matter!! I'm concerned not just for the safety aspect but also the wear and tear on my vehicle it might have caused. I took it elsewhere to get a second opinion just as i thought they confirmed my suspicions that there was no leaks before and no leaks after South Pro forgot to put the fluid in! It's your choice whether you want to give your business to South Pro Automotive but i would most certainly advise against it!!! Im sharing my experence with you seeing that i dont wish this kind of injustice upon anyone!!!! read more
