I enjoy looking at this school…read more My grandchildren are in school here. I don't hear well anymore because I'm old, but the sound of the recess bell never escapes me. Whenever I come to this playground it brings me back to my innocent youth; tetherball in first recess, red rover and kickball in afternoon intermission (what it was called before recess). A lot of the learning is done outside the classroom and on the playground. This playground is, as Donald Tremp says, "huge". Lots of area to learn. I don't anymore, but I miss the days where I used to be a recess safety officer (duty). I was able to tell all the children to be safe and make them listen to my stories of my youth. Not at this school. Great school. Grandchildren love it. ~grandma

We have been dealing with bullying issues over the last year, and so far multiple times this year…read more The principals at Lincoln elementary have refused to return phone calls regarding the matters, set "meetings" with us that they were unable to attend, and over looked the issue many times. Now it was brought to my attention that a "Mr. Jason" who is employed at Lincoln has in some form been encouraging and/or ignoring the issues. I would not send your children to this school until they get better staffing (if you have the option). After having this issue I also spoke with 2 other parents that have recently pulled their children out of Lincoln for similar problems! Never is it acceptable as an adult; especially working at a school (who should be setting a proper example) to tell a 6 year old that they deserved to be punched in the face by another student. They refuse to do anything about the bullying, and employee bullies at that. Not to mention they are obviously not adequately watching our children.

Well my boys are now in their second year at Cascadia and it is the best investment I have made on…read moretheir behalf. They are both so excited about research and learning and my middle school son is loving all the field study trips - unheard of in public school! I appreciate that they are accepted and celebrated for their uniqueness, the dedication of the teachers and staff, and knowing that they feel enlightened and enthusiastic at the end of each day!

Cascadia has provided an alternative to the factory/test driving approach public schools use to…read moreteach children. Being Montessori based, the school focuses on the whole child, which after years of attending public schools has allowed my boys to again love learning. The teachers pay close attention to what makes my children "tick" and the space to make their own discoveries. In doing so, the teachers are giving them the skills to be hard working innovative thinkers in a collaborative environment while still incorporating the state education standards. This school is what school is should be.

I often saw the teacher at Children's Valley Academy, Yulya without a mask. But since we as…read moreparents aren't allowed inside the school, I didn't think too hard about it until this teacher posted a video to her Instagram stories where her family is attending a 200+ maskless event. After I confronted her, she told me she doesn't wear a mask. When I asked her if she would take the test or quarantine herself before going back to work with kids, she responder that if I am afraid I do not have to bring my kids to school. I reached out to the school administrator Yelena Tshichenko and she did nothing to prevent this occurrence. I believe that she was aware of this all along and allowed it to go on. I will not be bringing my kids back to this school, but the teacher and school administration disregard, not just governor Brown's orders, but from a human perspective their complete lack of concern for the safety and well-being of attending families is mind-boggling!

I am a HUGE fan of La Salle Catholic College Preparatory!…read more I transferred my junior year and it saved my chances of going to college. At La Salle the teachers paid attention to me and challenged me to do my very best. I needed a community to help me and that is what I found in the classrooms of the school. I was given the tools that made my college studies much easier and put me far ahead of my peers at the university. Everything from writing a paper using an outline, public speaking, how to communicate with my peers, vocabulary, how to ask for help, meditation, how all my classes and studies interconnected, and how to be of service to my community. As I look back on my high school experience, I have overflowing gratitude for the education and care that I was given. I attribute much of my success to the lessons I learned during those crucial years.

It was the BEST experience and I highly recommend Bright Beginnings Preschool! There are too many great things about the school, here are a few of my favorite things: 1. The teachers are fantastic (we had Miss Kathy and Miss Sinan)! Each room has a lead teacher and a co-teacher and we just love both of my kid's teachers so much!! They are a perfect team and so wonderful with the kids and seem to care about them so much. 2. They have a fabulous fenced play area with grass and playground equipment. They also have a huge indoor play space for days when it's too cold or wet to play outside. 3. They do the best art projects, and even made lovely mother's day and father's day and Christmas presents for us. 4. They had the most adorable Christmas program, as well as a "donuts with dad" program on a morning in January and a "muffins with mom" program on a morning in May. These programs were way too cute....just adorable! They are such special memories for us. They even had the most adorable evening graduation for the pre-K kids. 5. The school facility is light and bright and feels either newish or renovated. The classrooms are all nice and big and lovely, and have a private bathroom attached. 6. My kiddo learned so much (she now knows her uppercase and lower case letters, can count to 100, knows all the colors, and knows the 7 or 8 most common shapes) and is beyond ready and excited for kindergarten in the fall! I found out about Bright Beginnings through recommendations from a local mom's group and then through my own research, including campus tours of Bright Beginnings and two other local preschools, I found Bright Beginnings to be the easy winner. And we just totally loved it, so much that I want to spread the word in case anyone else is looking for an amazing preschool program for their kiddo!
