Good cheap deal up to a point, go if you don't have much that can be fenced. Went to help the relatives out when they had to relocate and stored household stuff there. This is NOT like a 5A or anything. It's really laid back, which is nice, but it's also really sketchy. This property is owned by Rorick Trust 10/19/95, SSMC, POB 1110 Merced CA 95341. The house in front is on the property. The ownership alone gives reason for curiosity- it holds commercial properties, and has a family representative who is difficult to track down (from a previous legal complaint- USCAND 21-cv-05037-TSH). The representative in that issue was Roxanne Clement-Rorick. The plaintiff couldn't find her. Good luck finding her if your stuff disappears here too. The onsite "management" may have little to do with them. Neither may even know each other. The 'management' told sis about 'the owners'. Hint- the 'owners' aren't around Red Bluff. One other property is in Oakland, the cafe in the lawsuit. Absentee slumlords more like it. Real trustworthy people A previous manager had a goon (drives around town in a white pickup with the US flag painted on the tailgate) who would go around the lot, hustling legitimate patrons out, while someone said he would 'just smoke pot' and allowed friends to occupy trailers there. The previous manager got the later one in. That one moved his family, their kids, relatives into the living spaces there. They also have lengthy court records in Shasta County. Thefts A Toyota truck was stolen from there. And a Jeep. Auto parts disappear. Units get broken into. They said that they 'didn't see anything', though there are several cameras that probably record (like another renter on Yelp said that they do, but conveniently don't record the crimes?). Some parts were stolen from a pickup. This 'manager's' family blamed a man with a unit next to the truck. He rightly had some issue with that- it's called defamation. The problem is- he drives a Honda sedan, and assembles bikes at Walmart. The target pickup was a late Dodge Ram. The 'manager' had 2 of this model near his apartment. They look like they do auto work there, with some people driving in and getting their cars worked on. It's completely believeable that the former 'manager' couldn't bother to look into videos for criminals. A local shop owner who stored inventory there said her stuff was stolen, and that 9 spaces- NINE- had been broken into that week. We heard from one renter that a car got stripped the day it was going to be picked up by the owners. Who else would know but the 'management'? Same as the story of Michelle C., whose stuff got stolen. Why does it sound like that 'manager' was covering for someone with 'privacy'? The whole place looks like... Friends They have some people from the trailer park nearby, 'Friendly Acres', going in and it looks like staying in trailers there, too. Other trailers kept there get broken into. They had a friend of theirs staying in the house in front of the property. He was walking around when we went in, he just showed up, poof, watching, then would go towards their apartment when we saw him and said anything. He tried to look like he was working, but- Casing Rent there if you want your stuff to get cased. This guy was probably just sneaking around to see what we had. He wasn't working. He carried a weed wacker, did a little cutting near us, and then left. Like the weeds only grow only near us only when we were there? No. Our stuff was open to see when we were there. Some new 'managers' loom around the same way. Give up, it's obvious. They pretend to be checking things in that zone, then go back to the office. They don't go to the rest of the complex, which has like 6 rows of buildings. Only near ours. Casing. Confidence act Where the name 'con job' comes from. They act like they're really into keeping it safe. Someone put a bunch of rocks under some of the fences. After some theft thing, they said that people crawl in and steal stuff. Like car parts? They carry tools in their back pockets to raid cars and trailers? Some get in through the gate. If you rented there and cared about your stuff, would you give out the code to thieves? Would the 'managers' just sit around smoking their pot (they do smoke) and 'not see' it all happen? 'Oh yeah, we're really on top of the situation'. Looks more like IN the situation. One walks around checking something on a clipboard, just in whatever area, it looks. Really looking diligent. Or casing. They don't do it to the dirtbags who go in from the trailer park on their bicycles then wait for cars to leave to get out. Those people probably aren't storing famous artwork there, the way they look Hangout for It looks like a handy hangout for lowlifes. Another dude stays in the front house. He spooks around too. One will walk around in the distance, another gets closer, another comes up and looks at everything you have, including into the non beater car you drive. More casing read more

This mini storage is convenient, safe and has great customer service. We stored our travel trailer on site under a three month rental contract and everything went smoothly and safely. I was impressed by the staff's excellent communication to assist with smooth logistics on the move-in day; she even offered to stay open longer that day to be sure we could get unloaded before closing. The only suggestion I could make would be to install a post on the inside of the gate to prevent exiting people from clipping the gate corner. One time, someone clipped the gate while exiting resulting in a non-working gate for a day or two. I think the staff worked as fast as possible to get the gate repaired but I could see the gate getting clipped again sometime. read more

The Paradise, CA Camp Fire left my trailer damaged, but salvageable. My residence is three hours south, and due to certain circumstances, I only had a day to drive up, make the necessary repairs for safe towing and move the trailer to a new storage location. After numerous phone calls to the surrounding area, a few days prior, learning that everything in Chico was booked, I happened to find Alexa Bryson at South Main Mini-storage. She was very professional and courteous on the phone, and graciously agreed to meet me at the facility on her day-off to accommodate my schedule. I was extremely grateful for her flexibility. We agreed to a late afternoon meeting. However, due to a few unavoidable delays, and unanticipated challenges with the trailer, I had to delay our meeting several times. It was dark, before I finally started heading her way. But, as luck would have it, the trailer broke down halfway, needing a tow, creating another almost two hour delay. Called Alexa again, cringing, expecting the worst. The exact opposite occurred. She was extremely understanding, beyond all my expectations and belief, happily agreeing to still meet me. Sometime after 8:00 in the evening, some five hours late, I rolled into the South Main Mini-storage driveway, with the tow truck driver following closely behind. There was Alexa standing outside, flashlight in hand, wearing a welcoming smile, and exhibiting a cheerful disposition. From where I was sitting, exhausted, hungry, covered in soot from head to toe, she looked like an angel. Don't know what I would have done if she hadn't been so kind, helpful, and agreeable. It was late, I still had several hours of driving to get home, and I didn't have any other options. I rented from this place for about 4 months. They are convenient to get to, friendly staff,inexpensive, and has a secure yard with a caretaker who lives onsite. They also offer the convenience of setting up an online account to pay your bill, and email you reminders when it is coming due. My only complaint is that the unit I rented, wasn't climate controlled, so my belongings were still exposed to heat and cold...it's basically the same as storing in a garage. However they do offer the option of a climate controlled unit for a higher price. When I moved out of my unit, I did have to dodge A LOT of daddy longleg spiders and cobwebs.....my fault for not covering with a tarp but they still would have been in there. Along with the spiders, I also had to keep a lookout for black widows, so if you neglect to open your unit for months.....proceed with caution, and ensure you aren't carrying any creatures back to your new,home or wherever. read more

Ok this is personal experience on 4/7/15 received call at 5:50 unit had been robbed come by in morning. Well when your talking about a lifetime of memories and things in 1 spot (The morning is so far away!) Went to unit that night called police they had not been informed of the problem but let us know 5 robberies had happened there within a week!!! We started cleaning out unit. Next morning at 9am mgr showed up jumped out of car very defensive that we were in our paid for rental unit. Unusually strange behavior when we asked why we given time to come that evening as we only live 5 minutes away and very combative when we asked why the police weren't called. Told us we could look at cameras but would not let us look at cars coming in and out as that was their clients privacy ... Mind you they were very specific the incident they found at 5pm was told to us it happened exactly at lunch time (how would they know that? When we asked this question calmly of the manager she called sheriffs on us mind we were pretty calm for $8,000.00 in memories stolen from unit (coincidently this happened right after we told manager we would be vacating) Lied to police they were told all kinds of fraud things about us (mind you they have camera in office taping our behavior) Mgr says she has PTSD well that's not an issue when we were like any client that would be distraught and not breaking any laws but were confused WHY not handled in professional manner to try to solve the problem. Very questionable personality of manager as maybe not being honest. Caution for us in future for using any company with a lifetime of baby memories,collectibles of a lifetime and other such personnel items. My advice to you would always be to check with local law enforcement in regards to professionalism of a company like this!!!! good luck and if you have a problem like this you are not screwed the clause about fraud and employee conduct relieves the burden of your contract so if this has happened to you seek legal advice not all is lost!!!! Also loaded with Roaches have pictures to prove it!!! So Beware as you may get more than you thought possible. Should receive no stars maybe negative ones and no Dogs as told!!! They allow business to ran on premises. 4/11/16 Brad Lund from there called today refuses to help and says good luck getting a detective to spend hours going through tapes. They won't help the people who hire there buildings they just say the rent you an empty building and the tapes aren't for our protection out of Brads own mouth.
