Well, after our moving company didn't bring a big enough truck to move my grandparents, I absolutely had to move them. The plan we came up with was to rent a Uhaul, rent a trailer to pull my car, and get the movers to load that up and drive back that night. So after a 2 am arrival in Birmingham, we then had to move my grandparents in that same day. So getting up in the morning, I started thinking that the movers would need the car trailer off in order to unload. Since I was the only one driving this traveling circus, I couldn't take my car and the truck. to where my grandparents were moving. So I called Uhaul to see if I could leave the trailer there with my car loaded and then get their help unloading my car from the trailer when I came back to drop off the truck. The person I talked to then was not very helpful and said they probably can't get anyone to help unload my car because they had other customers. I'm not sure if he didn't understand me correctly or was just in the mood of not being helpful. But either way, he was very unfriendly and it made me nervous of the possibility of unloading my car by myself. Fast forward to when I brought the truck back and this Uhaul location totally redeemed itself when two of the most helpful and friendly employees I have experienced in any industry were the people we were welcomed by. They got us checked in quickly and one of them was more than happy to help me with my car. This was heading to be another 1 star review because of bad customer service and was totally redeemed because of the people who happened to be there in the afternoon.

I…read moretypically call to reserve the van rentals ahead of time and I'm always warmly greeted and they remember me even though I typically only rent two or three times a year. The 15 passenger vans are the only vehicle I've rented, but they are always clean and ready to go when I arrive. They offer rental liability insurance to purchase which is helpful since I'm usually renting for a non-profit organization who doesn't have their own vehicle insurance policy. They have a key drop if you are returning the rental past their closing time, which is super convenient not to feel rushed when bringing back the van. They also rent moving trucks and other van options at this location too. Make sure to return your rental with a full tank of gas or they do charge a premium ($4.50-$5.00 a gallon) for fuel (they disclose this ahead of time and encourage you to return it full to avoid it which I appreciate them being upfront)!!

Despite…read morehaving reserved a 24 ft box truck a week in advance for a contracted job pick up, scheduling a hotel, and taking a day trip after work to be in Birmingham for the weekend, we were contacted the morning before our pickup that there were no available trucks on site due to a 'recall'. We were scheduled to pickup on Saturday morning and return on Monday, as they are closed on Sundays and do not offer after hour returns. We were given no options other than to move our reservation to the following week. We contacted our vendor and got them to last minute reschedule the shop staff to the following Saturday morning and were just out the cost of a hotel and day of travel. Today we reached out to confirm that our reservation was still held and that we could be guaranteed a truck for this Saturday due to the shortage last week. We were informed that they would be changing our invoice and charging an additional $112 for an additional day due to them being closed on Labor Day. This would require us to return the truck on Tuesday, as this location doesn't offer after-hour returns-- also increasing our invoice without any other options offered. So the invoice amount that my Purchase Order and payment were approved for at my place of work was no longer accurate. We were not compensated for the inconvenience last weekend, and now they're wanting to add on payment for an additional day and increase our invoice that was approved-- due to an error on your side. We did not want to move the reservation from last week and this was not mentioned at the time of booking changes. It also seems pertinent to include that I've seen other reviews for this location stating the exact same issues have occurred a plethora of times. If you're looking for a reliable and affordable truck rental option, I would not look at using Enterprise Truck Rentals, as I know I will not after this experience.

I have used airport locations and none airport locations. This Budget location always has the newest vehicles for you to rent. They don't finance in house, but if you can get your own financing they can even sell you a vehicle when it's time. I called the front desk and they made sure I had a specific size of truck assigned to my reservation so it'd be ready for me in the morning. Justin was extremely helpful and personally ensured I got exactly what I needed. The process was quick, easy and straightforward. Truck rentals are more expensive here than other places, but I'll happily pay more for the customer service and convenience. The truck was clean and Justin explained the features to me before I left. Management has surely changed since the last review. I'd highly recommend!

Shady business practices is an understatement!!! I'm not sure if they thought I wouldn't notice the charge or if they are just incompetent but either way, I do not recommend using this location. Or if you have to, make sure you get documentation while there that you have turned your truck in. Local business locations like this give national chains like Penske a bad name.
