Their tool selection is excellent, from yard maintenance to electrical, plumbing, boats, you name it, and also have a good selection of quality work clothes and accessories, mostly Carhartt and Dickies. It's the first place I've seen since childhood that sells nails and screws by the pound. The staff are friendly and extremely knowledgable and not afraid to tell you whether your own hairbrained schemes are going to work. While I've left disappointed for not finding what I was looking for, they've spared me a good deal of heartache from finding out on my own that my notions weren't likely to succeed, most recently in trying to find a cap for the lower spout on my water hauling tank. They also routinely have some of the cheapest gas prices in town. I usually try to fill up down in CDA when I'm down there for work as it's often 20-40 cents cheaper than Sandpoint or Bonner's Ferry, but if I'm not heading down that way, this is where I go to fuel up. More than anything, I like that this place brings that small town Hardware store feel, but packs it with big box store level selection and service. It seems like a very happy marriage between two very opposite ideas. Highly recommended!

I was told by a cashier at tractor supply company in Kellogg, Idaho to come back on Saturday…read morebecause they were having a 0% interest for 4 years on this Cub Cadet ZT1. So I went sat opened a account and made the purchase. Two months later after I entered into a auto pay agreement Tractor Supply went into my bank account and started taking 3 & 4 times the payment amount I had setup! I called to complain and after they had made me tell the story 4 times I'm getting irritated they pass me over to some guy for me to tell it again so I went to my bank account and used my balance transfer I told this rude guy I'm paying off my account with Tractor Supply, without him saying anything he cancelled my account. One month later I was going through my banking I found out my perfect credit @ 760 was reduced to 640 because Tractor Supply had hit me with late fees, when they closed my account my balance transfer never went finished the payoff . Tractor Supply is still sticking it to me 3 months later with late fees my balance transfer is waiting for TSC to accept but they will not because my account was closed. DO NOT LET THEM SUCK YOU INTO THEIR SCAMS OF FINANCING!

So I did. The message I got when I called was "leave a message". There were people inside by the cars parked there. They were obviously open, but doors locked. So naturally, I knocked on the door (being the call for an appointment was "leave a message," and I'm already parked right there). Eventually, a guy comes out, rudy pushes the door open, and walks past me. I thought, wow! This guy is a mad customer or something. I'm just staring at him, asking myself what was that was all about. The guy stops about 10 feet away from me, spins around (never once looking at me in the eye), and says, "we talk out here!". "Didn't you read the sign to call?" I told him I DID call and got an I call you back message, and I thought if I knocked, I would get to speak to someone, even if 6' away. I was inquiring about what equipment they had for sale. I felt like an idiot and like a child being scolded. Yikes. Hmm. I am not returning there for another round of that!

The biggest issues have been consistently poor customer service, an unwelcoming atmosphere and prices that are often higher than nearby competitors. One major concern that has always bothered me is hearing employees gossip and make petty disparaging comments regarding local customers and other businesses. It's unprofessional and doesn't inspire confidence, trust or reflect good character. I've heard similar stories from others over the years. You can find anything online for less these days and half the appeal of a local gun shop is building relationships and enjoying the experience but I've never found that here. This has been consistent with the old and new ownership- I've been treated with more courtesy at Walmart. The best way I can describe this shop's vibe is this: it's basically a high school locker room- except it's full of all the people that nobody likes and who probably don't like you. Even firearm and NFA transfers (which should be straightforward) have been unpleasant enough here that I have absolutely no reason to walk in there. Over time, most of the people we know have quit doing business there for one reason or another, myself now included. There are plenty of decent firearms retailers in North Idaho staffed by people who treat you like they appreciate your business and your time.
