Today, I had the Veggie Ramen Soup with shrimp & egg along with a cup of jasmine flower tea. The bowl of soup was so big I had to ask for a container to take home what I couldn't eat at lunch. With big huge shrimps and a perfectly poached egg, the noodles and veggies (broccoli, cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, onions, bok choy) hit the spot. The broth was delicious with the perfect amount of spiciness - my lips were tingling with the heat! (Tip: I asked for a "1" on the spiciness chart and it was spicy. I think it might have actually been a "2" because it was spicy! I like my food spicy but if you don't, maybe ask for a "0".) Ordering is accomplished at the counter, which is on the left when you enter the front door. When I said I needed some soup for a chilly day, the man who took my order suggested the Veggie Ramen. He then asked if I wanted to add anything to it and I requested chicken, although I got those huge beautiful shrimp. (I'll be asking for those shrimp from now on!) Prices are comparable to or less than any other place these days - veggie ramen soup was $12 and the pot of tea that I got at least 3 mugfuls out of was $2.50.
