They've qualified for the playoffs every year but one, highlighted by a first-place finish in the Eastern Conference standings in 2019. Generally, a fairly good showing for such a new club. The team primarily plays its games at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. When configured for MLS games, the stadium has a capacity of about 29,000-30,000. Like other MLS teams, average attendance has been good. Official attendance records show roughly 24,000 fans per game (80-82% capacity). Over the years, several various plans for a dedicated soccer stadium designed specifically for the team - from Manhattan to Elmont (Belmont Stakes) - have been proposed, but nothing has materialized yet. In the club's short history, Spanish striker David Villa has been, by far, the club's best and most popular player. He played for New York from 2015 to 2018 and holds the club records for most appearances (126) and goals (80). He was a forward on the Spanish national team that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Etihad Airways, of the United Arab Emirates, has been the team's main sponsor during its existence so far.

And word is they may end up moving to Queens. Can you imagine. My fave borough and one of my least fave teams. I mean they're affiliated with Man City and play in the same colours. How disgusting. So considering I've been a fan of Red Bull NY since back when they were Metrostars... then it follows that I wouldn't love NYCFC, their rival. Of course I'm not a fan of NYCFC, who are the rich kids of the East Coast, think Galaxy but worse. They get a lot of good players piped in, and they do have a few good people behind them, but they're basically the Manchester City of North America. So not my favourite by any stretch of the imagination. Red Bull will always be the heart and the soul of the NY area football for me. These guys play at Yankee Stadium and they have been looking for a place in Queens to play, but for me the team of people from Queens is always going to be Red Bull even though they're over New Jersey. I'm so not a fan of the Manchester City Style kit or the ownership, and I'm hoping that they continue middling around and don't really go anywhere. But it's good to have a two-team New York area rivalry for sure. And it's definitely one of the classic legendary stadiums for baseball and as a baseball Arena it would get 5 stars and is second to none. As a soccer arena it gets three stars and just doesn't seem like a good home for this team or the sport, and it's no coincidence that they've been largely struggling in it. So the stadium that Ruth built is amazing and it's been renovated recently and it's just way too expensive - that's the main problem. If you live in this part of the Bronx you'd have to probably spend a week's wages just to come and see a game here. And a watery beer that is American of course, is going to cost you between 12 and $20. So forget it.

Instead of accepting defeat respectfully, he tries to exploit loopholes and fabricate rules that don't exist within the league. He previously obtained a forfeit win against another team using similar tactics, and after losing 7-0 to us, he again attempted to lie about our roster numbers to force another forfeit. Given how blatantly he is willing to lie and cheat to gain an advantage, I would seriously second-guess sending my child to a program led by someone who displays this kind of behavior. It reflects very poorly on the integrity of the team and the spirit of the game.

I played football (soccer) in Spain as a child and then I played in my HS team for various teams…read moreand leagues in the NYC area. I stopped playing for a long time and then came back to it with with Frank at Soccer Beyond. It was perfect for me as I had some foundation for playing but was extremely rusty. With Frank, you get to play lots and also scrimmage a lot. You work a lot on foundations, passing and dribbling skills that are designed to help you develop those skills. Even if you are advanced, there's a benefit. And you are a beginner, this is perfect as these are the type of drills you do as a kid. For someone who's more advanced and may say "why would I need to do that?" the answer is that even the pros still do the same exact drills. An as for beginners who might be put of by the previous reviewer's comment that "many of the drills seem to advanced for the absolute beginners" the truth is that this is exactly what we did as kids in school. Exactly. You'll get better just by coming often and working at it. (and get your own ball too) The group of people are also really cool and they generally come back again and again. And Frank is a really good coach and a very nice guy. To get this kind of instruction is really difficult. There's another guy in brooklyn that runs something similar and while I like him, he is simply no where near as good or as qualified as Frank is.

It's true that drills can be a little dull, but Coach Frank chooses them well, changes them often, and my touch has benefited. The sessions are welcoming and cordial. Many people return week after week. Skill level is skewed towards the beginner. Many of the drills seem a bit too advanced for the absolute beginners, who might benefit more from just getting a lot of touches via dribbling and passing drills.

Both times we received broken or incorrect gear for our son and they refused to do anything. They sent a 9-10 year old jersey for a toddler, and when I followed up, advised that's their standard and the toddler versions are available online for $35. Disappointing to see a program using public space decide to nickel and dime their patrons.

With that said, Super Soccer Stars was the perfect start to our son's soccer journey. This will be our 12th season--he started at age 3 and is now 5--and our son looks forward to each class. All his coaches have fostered values of teamwork, healthy competition, and self-confidence over the years. And they've been attentive to his individual strengths and weaknesses despite being enrolled in group classes. Classes are easy to schedule with multiple locations in Queens and programs are age-specific. I'm surprised by the complaints about customer service and rescheduling. The times that I've been unable to schedule a make-up class, of which there are usually multiple opportunities unless it's the end of the season, they applied a credit toward future sessions. My only gripe is that during inclement weather you don't know whether class is cancelled until the last minute and you're already on the road.
