One of my sides was a Caesar Salad. It was copious to the point that I could not finish it when it was appropriately brought out ahead of time. As a diabetic, I am concerned about carbs, but the Alaskan Whitefish grabbed me . While my plate was messy, I peeled off the coating and enjoyed the nice tender fish inside. In Tennessee, corn pudding is different than what they brought me, but it was wonderful. Bread pudding of the day was S'mores. I had my fill, brought home the rest and my family loved it. Local history was abundant. The menu held an article on local history and the lobby had many historic photos of local interest. I took many photos of them for remembrance. I realize that referencing Star Search is some washed unc behavior, so forgive me. You probably don't even know what I'm talking about. But let's focus on the fact that I really want to give this place four stars, and so I did, because Yelp doesn't allow fractions, so I rounded up. But Teays is getting four stars with a couple of caveats. We'll just get it out of the way. I don't know if the burgers always taste like nothing, but we got two burgers today (the Burnworth Burger and the cheeseburger on the kids' menu), and both reportedly tasted "weird" and like "nothing." I didn't believe it until I tasted the burgers, and yep, nothing. Imagine if you suddenly got Covid and lost your sense of smell and taste. That's what the burgers tasted like, despite the Burnworth Burger having things like hatch chilis and red pepper aioli on it. Very weird! Maybe we just visited at an off time when the cook forgot to season the burger patties. Who knows. My meal, however, was great. I got the pulled pork sandwich, and the pork was so tender and flavorful, it almost didn't even need the small cup of barbecue sauce that it came with. It also came with some coleslaw and a choice of a side. (I chose fries.) I also got a pint of the Trauma Llama Ding Dong, which is a hazy IPA. It was very good! I do love a good IPA, and this one is made by Teays. This is a kid-friendly brewery, with lots of seating outside. Inside, there's a big bar for adults, but also lots of seating for groups and families. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant for parents who want a place to get a beer and also relax because their kids are more than welcome.

The shuttle service makes the logistics of spending time on the water easy. Ice Cream Parlor: This section is small but offers some of the best ice cream I've been served in Indiana. Our most recent visit we enjoyed Kentucky Praline Pecan, Florida Orange Sherbet and Strawberry Cheesecake varieties. They rotate flavors but have enough variety I've always found something tempting. Wine Room and Craft Beer: The tasting room is beautiful but we honestly haven't tried this yet. At the moment the only food they have daily to go with the drinks is nachos. However, they have been offering food with live music as outlined on their Facebook page and website. I discovered three more product categories that can be used for non-alcoholic home concoctions:…read more 1. Flavored syrups and fruit concentrates. Dilute and pour on your shaved/crushed ice or ice cream. Or use instead of the more expensive smaller size flavorings with your Soda Stream carbonated beverage maker, (that thing that injects CO2 in your water to make soda.) 2.Malted (not roasted) barley and wheat, for adding to whole wheat flour for a better rise. White flour (all-purpose flour and bread flour) has malted barley flour added, which has enzymes that break down starch into the glucose/sugar that yeast can use. Whole wheat flour has little to no malted barley/wheat added. Be careful because adding too much malt powder to dough breaks down too much starch. Check recipes before use. GF will crush malt, but not grind it sufficiently for dough use. I use a coffee/spice grinder to turn the malted grains into powder/flour. 3. Dried malt extract, aka malt sugar. This usually consists of three types of sugars: glucose/dextrose, maltose, and maltotriose. Use for making old-fashioned "malted" milkshakes. Good for adding to hot breakfast cereals, too. I use a little in bread-making. (See my previous review about corn sugar/glucose/dextrose.)
