I have been using Soundz Plus for over ten years and they have done everything for me from simple satellite radio interfaces in a Nissan to a fiber-optic component workover on a Porsche to a complete infotainment overhaul in a Jeep, to God knows what. I have complete faith that no matter what I bring to them, they just "know what to do" and I can trust them. I have torn apart a ton of cars in my day and know what shortcuts *might* be taken, but I have no evidence that any of this has ever been done, anywhere, by this firm, and they have done four or five projects for me. Next on the agenda is an E-Class Mercedes that may need the 360-degree radar detector treatment. I am always scared of such major work but how could I *not* take it to them? Absolutely worst car audio experience!! Called to get a quote, first of all they are so pushy.. Marty was calling me 4-5 times a day until I finally agreed to have them install a high-end stereo in my gf car. We agreed on a price and went step by step over what they are going to do and what will be included in the price. After they worked on the car for about a day I got a call from Marty to tell me they now have to use a different processor which is double the price, otherwise the car will not sound right. It wasn't really what I wanted to hear, but I agreed because there was no other choice. Few hours later he sends me an email to tell me he will need to charge me for 2-3 hours additional labor because this is more work than he originally thought and that he will not remove the rear speakers which I specifically asked for and he agreed to do, in the beginning. I replied back saying I will not pay for additional labor, because we had an agreement and he knew what he was going into since he had installed dozens of systems like this according to him and I need the rear speakers removed to let the bass in the car since the sub was put into the trunk. He replied back saying he will not eat the cost of additional labor and I have 2 choices, either pay him what he wants or he will do it for the agreed upon price, but the car is not going to sound good, so it's my choice.. I got really upset, but finally agreed because I did not want to end up with a bad sounding car after spending over $5,000. Next day we were told the car is ready for pick up. When we arrived and looked at the car I've noticed the rear speakers were not removed. I asked him why he didn't remove the speakers since he promised to do so in the beginning, he said there is no need, because there is plenty of bass and the car sounds good. Then we noticed he did not mount the DRC from the bit one processor which was also part of the deal, but I really wanted to check what the car sounds like, so I wasn't paying attention to that. I turned the car on and could not believe how bad the car sounded. At first I didn't know if they were just messing with me or this was for real..Well, it was for real! The car sounded worse than any factory system I've ever heard. I immediately told them the car does not sound good and they need to do something about it. Marty wasn't too happy to hear that as he kept saying he is running late for his birthday dinner.. I told them this is unacceptable and the car sounds like shit.. Marty then pulled his lap top and tried some additional tuning, but it didn't help. There was obviously something wrong with the whole set up and I told them that..They said everything is correctly installed and it just needs time for the speakers to break in. I said that that is not possible and they said the other thing too is that the Hertz Mille speakers (which are top of the line Hertz speakers) I had them install are not going to sound as good as some of the cheaper speakers from Hertz, because they are made of plastic, not paper..I just couldn't believe they were trying to blow me off with stupid comments like that and convince me is that this is the way it should sound. We went back and forth for about half hour and eventually agreed to have the local Audison/Hertz rep to look at it. He found out the processor was incorrectly set-up. We went back to Soundz plus and got him to fix that, but were told the final tuning will be done when Marty gets back from vacation. We were happy at least that part is done, but found out couple of days later the sub woofer isn't working. We thought we would address that when he gets back. Finally when he got back in town, we emailed him numerous times about the sub & final tuning with absolutely no response back and we were getting run around when calling his shops. I didn't stop and got lucky one day calling his shop. He picked up the phone and acted surprised I was calling him. I told him I don't like the fact he is avoiding me. I told him the sub isn't working and I need to schedule the final tuning to be done, because the car still doesn't sound good. He said as far as the subwoofer, if it's blown he'll send it back to the manufacturer and when they'll send it back he will put it back in. As far as tuning goes, he said he thought we were done and he is not touching the car unless we pay him more money. I just can't believe that this guy is in business lying and ripping off people and gets away with it like nothing ever happened. Well this is my experience with Soundz Plus. We ended up going to another shop and decided to never look back. I feel sorry for all the people that entrust and let Soundz Plus to work on their vehicles. BEWARE of Marty Deane!!!! read more

I received a gift to have the automatic start put on my car. Made the appointment had it installed and couldn't be happier. Shortly thereafter I had car issues that required sound plus to remove their equipment (Not there fault). After months of trying to find out why my car was running properly, the dealership finally found the problem and fixed it. I contacted Sound Plus to have the system installed again. Not only were they Johnny on the spot, every person at the company has been wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable. They stand behind their work. I couldn't be happier with Sound Plus. Had tint installed and they did a great job. What surprised me most was the personal attention that I received by Geno. Calls were returned promptly and I felt like a valued customers. I had a bad experience at Sounz Plus. Had a bad amp, was given 2 choices, repair the amp I had, or replace it with an exact amp, except is was slightly less powerful. I chose to go with the new amp, and it sounded horrible. Really got the run around trying to either get it to sound good, or to return it. It was a very cheap amp ($130), and the attitude, and resistance i got from them i don't think was worth them getting upset about. They still made money on the diagnosis of my problem, and the install fees. I imagine their profit on the cheap amp was minimal, and there bad attitudes were unnecessary. They gave me back my old amp, and lied to me about sending it in for repair, the amp needs to be sent in through a dealer, and they lied and said that dealers could not send it in. Never again will I support a small business without a lot of research. Too bad, I really wanted to help out a small business. read more
