Nope not again.... I tried! My tummy hurts! How does the food stay "fresh" only open 3 days a week!???

Seems like a nice spot in Burkesville. I ordered takeout pizza which was very good. You can order online easily.

What a great spot! Beautiful decor. Great service. 4 of us ordered the leap of faith drinks. Each…read moreone was perfect for each of our personalities as well as delicious. Definitely suggest trying that. From the outside so deceiving inside such a great vibe.

This pains me! I was so excited to try this place. Cookeville needs a nice cocktail place, and 1854…read morehas great potential. But it's not there yet. To be fair, this review is only for NYE. I would not recommend this place for NYE. They had an extremely limited menu that was not published beforehand. If it had been, we wouldn't have gone. There were several gin drinks, one bourbon, and one mocktail you could add vodka to. That's all. You couldn't order any other drinks. We hate gin. So we stuck with the bourbon cocktail. It was 0% consistent. They said it was a batch, but every drink we had tasted different. Maybe the mix wasn't mixed well. Not the end of the world. It was still a decent drink. What was terrible is that only half way through service they ran out of the drink and would not make more. They said they were saving the rest for the next seating. So we were left with no drink options we liked. That's a big deal when you've *bought tickets* to be there. So we paid to be at a bar where we weren't given access to anything we liked and weren't told this would be the case when we bought the tickets. You have a whole bar there. Come up with another drink on the fly to replace the one you're out of. After several people complained, the bartenders said they would pour bourbon neat or on the rocks. Yeah, I can do that at home for free. If you are going to make people pay for access to an extremely limited menu make sure you don't run out of the key ingredients. The snacks were good and decently plentiful, but they weren't worth the ticket price (sushi that was not on ice, cheese, meat, fruit, crackers, deviled eggs, cookies) Would I come back? I'd like to give it another try only because Cookeville needs a place like this. If this was in another city, I wouldn't be back.

Every dish is perfect, and the French Onion soup may be the best I have ever tasted. The pork cracklings are better than ever, the egg roll is unique and flavorful with the ginger sauce; wow. The tender loin you could cut with a fork, and the potatoes were perfect. The flavors danced like a lullaby on the tip of my tongue. The burger was fantastic. If I could give them a 10, I would. If you want a meal deal, this is not the place. The restored building is done perfectly. The art is impeccable. The vibe is luxurious, but not pompous. This ranks at the top with Tony's--two of the best places in Bowling Green. This one, because of history and the architecture, comes out on top.

One side was a rounded booth and my companion was in a chair. The ambiance of the piano playing made it feel so upscale. I'm usually skeptical of a buffet brunch but every single item was top notch! Fruit, pastries, sausages, bacon, biscuits, gravy, and the pick your own ingredients omelet made quickly and very professionally. If you want to feel like you're actually at an upscale restaurant but you don't need to drive out of town go try this place, The chocolate croissant tasted like it was from Paris!
