We hired DJ Kev Luu for our wedding in late October and it was one of the best decisions we made…read more We had interviewed several djs because this was one of the parts of the wedding we wanted to get right and after listening to a few sample mixes and then an intro call, we knew we wanted to work with him. During our planning call, we told him the kind of vibe we wanted for cocktail hour, dinner and the party and shared a playlist of over 200 songs in no particular order and he took it in stride. Actually, he hit it out of the park. I have so many moments I could highlight but two that really stood out: for dinner we said we wanted a chill kickback vibe, mostly 90s-2000s r&b, and I mentioned it'd be cool if people would sing along to a few songs. From the very first track, he was on it, and guests were feeling it, singing their hearts out, it really sounded like we were at karaoke. In fact a couple people hit the dance floor even before food was served. The second moment: during the maid of honor's speech, she mentioned a random song that they were singing at the bachelorette party and despite not being aware of this beforehand, he had it cued up and ready to go once she finished her speech, and it was such a cute unplanned yet memorable moment. I could go on, but to sum up, he was such a great dj on the day that we had multiple people complement us on the choice, and one even asked for his contact info.
