I just called for a window tint quote. I was attempting to get a 2019 Ford Ranger tinted. This vehicle is not a full size truck. Not much glass compared to most other vehicles. My jaw hit the floor when Chris told me it would be over $600. That must have been his polite way of saying they didn't want the work. You can buy window tint from eBay. And with a little bit of practice even you can do this. Check out YouTube for tips. Mostly so you can see why you shouldn't pay $600 for a simple job. read more

Not the friendliness, which would be fine if they weren't so much more expensive than other 3M Certified shops. The work was good, but when I had my new windshield tinted I changed to another place. Maybe get someone up front who isn't so condescending. I work with the public for a living too, so I understand. But when a customer is polite and respectful there's no need for a snappy attitude. Had an appt scheduled for two weeks with this place. Showed up for installation and they told us that the company should have called us because "they're too busy to do installation" called said company. SOW NEVER contacted the company and told them this. Only put a note on our account. We were there the week prior and the front desk man NEVER said anything about them being too busy. Just said our appointment was last week. HOW ARE YOU TOO BUSY FOR AN APPOINTMENT THAT HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR TWO WEEKS!? The man we spoke to just seemed like he didn't want to do it at all. I have at least 10 years experience dealing with these guys. So I'm not somebody who caught them on a bad day. The problem is the prevailing attitude. And that is one of, "The customer is our enemy", "They're always trying to get over on us." I work in customer service so I've gone above and beyond to try and form a better relationship with them. It didn't work. The last time I was there I had them install a forward and rear facing dash cam. When all was done, and not working correctly, I tried to seek their assistance to diagnose why. They tried to tell me that's how it's supposed to be. Then I asked why the exact same model they installed in my other vehicle a couple months ago was totally different? Which one is wrong? They took the vehicle around back. Then came back and said it still was great. Said I should bring the other one back at my "convenience". I went home and watched the video that was recorded on the dash cam. The owners brother is on there saying, "This MF is trying to get us to fix some BS were not responsible for." Really? No genius, I'm trying to get you to help me diagnose why the installation you just preformed doesn't work! At that point I was done. I found a real shop that, hold on, get this, treated me like a CUSTOMER! Bozo's. I'm gone. CS Motorsports in Gastonia. I've sent them 3 jobs since then. They really care about my satisfaction. Don't use sound on wheels. It should be more like shit on wheels. They screwed up a tint job on my fiances car after thery finished over a week went by and it looked like crap. it had bubbles in it all over the place she was told they would take care of it tuesday. Then they try to blow her off till it is wensday she was given the run around and ignored till almost 12 then we hadf to get our money back. And we are left having to pay double to get it redone. Went there to get a trailer hitch installed on my Ford focus. About 2 hrs into the installation wait I asked what was taking so long, and one of the employees replied that they were finishing up the wiring. I said okay, and went back to wait another half hour. A few weeks after it was installed I went to go use the hitch and the extender I purchased thru them did not fit. The holes didn't line up and they said to bring it back to get another hole redrilled in the right spot. I live an hour away and that was very inconvenient for me. So I try to use the hitch AGAIN, and there is no wiring kit installed. Very upset, I went to the business and explained my concerns. The guy said that it wasn't paid for so they couldn't do anything for it. They should have offered it if it didn't come with it. That's their job. Plus, the reason for the long wait in the beginning for getting it installed was because of the "wiring" that they supposedly did. There ended up being no wiring, and a wrong hitch extension. Also a long wait to get it done when it should have only taken a half hr. I will never refer this company or come back here again. read more

I wish I could register negative stars. One star is way too good for them. This is probably the worst excuse for a business that I've ever encountered. We bought a new car on January 5 of this year, and the dealership (another bad experience) chose Sound on Wheels to install the new radio. It's now the middle of July, and I have yet to have a fully functioning radio/satellite/Bluetooth, etc. 6 Freaking months??? First it was an excuse about certain codes not being available for our new car (it happens to be a 2018), then it was never being able to reach the manager, who is never available. I can't say how many times I've heard, "we called you." Uhm, no you didn't. Then they will sit there and argue with you, "yes, we did." What are you, 12 years old?? Then, the employee they chose to run the desk in the showroom is about as useless and clueless as they come. Everything you ask him is responded with "I don't know." Not to mention, he is extremely rude. Well, we finally secured an appointment this past Saturday, and I should have known it was too good to be true. We walk in at our appointment time and are met with "we have no techs working today." No apologies, no attempts to reschedule, no nothing. I don't know if I'll ever have a functioning radio in my car , but I don't care at this point, because this whole experience has just made me hate this car even more. I guess I'll get someone else to do it, because Sound on Wheels sure doesn't give a damn. They also lost out on future business from my husband's employer. Oh well...too bad, so sad.
