I have not stayed in a BB for a long time, but I found this little jewel in the middle of nowhere. It's located just outside Newcastleton (Towards Carlisle direction) and sign posts are not available. Make sure you have a map at hand or ask directions in a local shop. The BB and location have a very special flair and is surrounded by tranquillity, good for relaxing, walking and exploring, like Hermitage Castle and the reiver trail being nearby. I had to mention beforehand when I will arrive or at least provide an indication.The hostess Sandy already expected me and showed me around the house. My room was a double room with a very large bathroom, also including a shower. All accessories were displayed with love. I believe that there were 3 more rooms, all of different sizes. I was able to use the lounge and luckily had it all for myself. I also had picked up food from the local supermarket and was able to eat it in the living room. You will need to take off your shoes, but slippers are offered instead. This place is very tidy. Breakfast is served until 11, I think. I had refill coffee and was chatting with my hostess until 12 noon :-) The breakfast was well prepared and so much fresh juice and fruits to choose from. Double room is abt £85. I can very much recommended this place, especially for couples on a romantic trip out of town or visitors to Hermitage castle. Enjoy! read more
