This place was so FREAKING CUTE UGH MY HEART I love alpacas, so when I found out that Sopris Alpaca Ranch was on our road trip map, I was like YES, let's stop by. My parents rolled their eyes and were like "seriously... stopping just for animals?" but when we pulled up to the ranch, they were in love. So in love that they couldn't hear me talking to them anymore. So I walked into their boutique and bought two bags of feed ($5 each) so my parents and my brother could enjoy their experience more than they already were. We were able to feed the adult males and females, and it was so fun to see each of their personalities come out as we were feeding them. Come to think of it, I like to place cute/sentimental stickers on my hydro flask and I totally forgot to purchase one from Sopris. :((( guess that must mean that I have to swing by again! Bonus points for having super clean outhouses.

This little ranch in Silt is such a delightful gem! I found this amongst things to do in Silt and I'm glad I came to pay a visit. There are so many apalcas here staring and waiting for you to feed them a snack! Be careful sometimes they do spit. We started off at the boutique where we checked out everything alpaca! There were alpaca socks, stuffed animals, ornaments, clothing, keychains, books, scarfs, hats, you name it! Very cute store where I picked up a keychain and an ornament for my tree. This is where you purchase snacks for the alpacas. Overall fun experience and the cuteness of the alpacas is worth the trip!

Shows you the size difference of adults and babies. Yes they do spit sometimes over food aggression but not too bad!

Loved this place. From the gift shop to feeding the alpacas to enjoying the weather and watching kitties roam. I was in heaven.

I am OBSESSED! The owner here is so amazing and sweet. Her property is so well kept and clean. The alpacas here are.... Perfection. They do offer Airbnb rentals on their property which is super cool especially if you have little ones. I'll definitely have to book a trip here next time I'm in town. Admission is free and a bag of grain is $5. They also have a small boutique with tons of cool trinkets and gifts.

Stayed at this Air BNB and loved it! Farm living, alpacas grazing right outside the window. When we were there they had kittens too. Can also just come to visit that alpacas and the cute boutique.

If you like to have a closer encounter with this friendly animals give it a try, if you have kids, it will be a very good opportunity also. Owners are friendly and it will be a nice place to stretch your legs if you're driving along Hwy 70 Nice store for a nice souvenir

The alpaca are so cute. Bought some alpaca socks at the boutique and I can't wait to put them on. We made an impromptu stop and we're happy we did! Free to visit and only $2.50 for a bag of feed. Can't beat that!

Great farm! Everyone is very friendly. The boutique is super cute and has lots of reasonably priced gifts. Florie is awesome explaining all the products and getting you ready to meet the alpacas! Feeding the alpacas is so fun. I plan to spend my lunch break there often

If you go through silt or Newcastle area you NEED to visit this farm! It was the highlight of our trip! It is free!!! You do have the option to purchase food to feed the alpacas for 5 bucks and they have a little shop with all the alpaca merchandise. The people that were working there were super nice too.

We stayed at their Airbnb on our way to Moab. The owners were both so friendly! We learned all about alpacas, were able to feed and pet them, and the Airbnb was so nice too! Our favorite alpacas were Malibu, Doll Baby, and Raspberry. If you stop, please ask about them!

What a delight! So glad I found this place. A must do if you're in the area. The alpacas are adorable and the gift shop had super cute items.

Our accommodation in the "Bridal Suite" was immaculate and so comfortable. Our hosts, Luis and Kristine, surprised us with a fresh organic breakfast every morning, along with piping hot coffee and tea. We relaxed and enjoyed walking the property and seeing the beautiful horses in their pasture. One morning wild turkeys ran past our door and I managed to get some great photos. The fall is stunning for great sunsets and aspen-glow. We will be back !

Unfortunately, due to the nearby fires there was heavy smoke everywhere. The owners realized it would be unbearable to stay there and offered us a bridal suite at their recently purchased ranch which is 15 minutes away. After a few rural roads we came upon their place... OMG what a ranch! It was how one would imagine a ranch to be... white fenced sections, horses, wildlife, stables, lots of well-kept acreage with many large shady trees also many apple trees. A beautiful huge main house to one side, the bridal suite across the driveway very privately surrounded by beautiful lawns and trees with lots of shade. One of the family members took us on a tour around the 21 acres and as the ranch name suggests, they have a huge red barn along with stables, corrals, ponds, more B&B suites, just amazing! It had a perfect reception hall that opens to a vast lawn, this with a complete bar, bandstand; this is a perfect place for a wedding. The entire place was super clean and well kept. Our mornings were very relaxing... peacefully quiet but for the soothing soft breeze through the trees. Breakfast on our private patio was a treat and did I mention the delicious coffee? Luis and Kristine along with their wonderful family were so welcoming and are the warmest of hosts, one and all. We really enjoyed their company. This ranch is a perfect place for a wedding, family reunion, retreat or whatever! We look forward to coming back very soon. We loved it and you will too!

They responded within 24 hours giving the rate. I called several days later to try and make the reservation and this time left a voicemail. At this point they returned my call, unfortunately I was not able to answer when they called, stating that since it was a holiday weekend that the minimum was 3 nights. Of course this was different than what they had confirmed in email, but I understood, somewhat. I called, and got voicemail again, and asked them if they were not fully booked if they would be willing to take a 2 night reservation. No return call. I called a couple of days later and left another message. No return call. Then, I had my brother call and leave them a message with a different name. Within hours he had a return call. My brother asked for 2 nights and the gentlemen stated that this would be a possibility and gave him his mobile number to call back and confirm. When I then called to confirm, the gentlemen stated that they only accept 3 nights on holiday weekends. And that they had 4 different people coming to look at it for the weekend, as it was their last available cabin. This was on Friday February 13th, the day we would have arrived. When I said that they had originally said they would rent for 2 nights on the weekend, he said his wife probably did not realize it was a holiday weekend. In other words, there was no willingness to meet their word to a prospective customer ether when first made or made that same day. I am sure it is a beautiful place to stay, but dealing with them over the phone and email is very difficult and I would not expect them to meet their commitments.

All in all it was a nice place to stay, the owners were friendly but just seemed a little put out at times.
