We started with a grilled vegetable plate -- vegetables are hard to find in Spain in October! We also enjoyed the classic Spanish meal of grilled steak and potatoes. Our waitress recommended a very nice rioja, the wine of the region. That was superb too! We're not normally dessert eaters, but we wanted to extend this lovely experience so we ordered the waitress' suggestion of a chocolate dessert with cafe con leche.

It was moist and juicy, the best tortilla I had in Spain, and the bread was definitely the best I had in Spain, so soft! Nice ambiance with lots of seating. You can meet people from all over the world, many of them pilgrims doing the Camino de Santiago.

The head chef and his brother who is the somm, do a great job curating a menu that utilizes local grown ingredients and a nice wine pairing to go along with the dishes. The restaurant is located in a small village off the beaten path. It's a fine dining establishment with an elegant, quiet dining room but with a relaxed enough atmosphere where you are made to feel comfortable. The first part of the meal is enjoyed outside by the garden where we were served a sparkling wine and several appetizers while we chatted with the chef. You can see the many different fruits and vegetables they grow and pick themselves. The remainder of the meal was served back in the main dining room. I can't remember how many dishes we had exactly but I think it was a total of nine, after the appetizers and not including the desserts. I wish they would have provided a souvenir menu for us to take home so I could remember all of the dishes and what they consisted of. All I can say is that the food was delicious and so flavorful.
