This was my first trip to Soothing Oasis in Tamarac and they are just as amazing as they are in Plantation! This location feels a little bigger and was clean and nicely decorated. I was early, like I always am, but they were ready for me anyway- yay! I was greeted as I walked in and presented with a chart to highlight any specific areas I wanted my masseuse to address. The gentleman that checked me in obviously noticed I went right for the neck before I circled a few other areas. When Becky walked in to begin she said something like, "we're going to focus on neck relief" so I knew I was going to be in good hands, literally. I had a lot of knots and twisty muscles but she basically ironed out over a year of stress and bad posture in this first visit. I can't wait to go back. This is my go to place for massage ever since I cancelled massage envy. Everyone is kind and very accommodating. I'm able to get last minute appointments often. Tina and Ingrid are the therapists I see most and know exactly to focus attention. I went the extra mile one time and did a 4 hands massage. Best ever but pricey and need to schedule ahead. I had excruciating back pain for a whole day and by the evening I was desperate for a massage. It's located in a very shady plaza that wasn't the most inviting but the place itself is clean. I had a 90 min massage with Cici and she REALLY gave it her all. It was easily one of the best massage experiences I had. She was so mindful of where I was experiencing pain and some serious knots which isn't always the most pleasant part of the massage, while still making it an enjoyable experience. I used to come here because I liked one of their masseuses. She left, and I was given another masseuse who was absolutely terrible. She pressed into my bones, not my muscles, which hurt very badly so much that I screamed. Then the rest of the time, she was just rubbing my skin and not pressing my muscles at all. At the end of the massage, she left the door open even though I wasn't dressed. The whole experience was extremely unprofessional - I could have done a better job on someone and I'm not a masseuse. I left with just as much muscle ache and pain as when I came in. I asked the manager for a refund or another massage, which they rejected, so here I am leaving a bad review. Had another fantastic massage with Linda, whom I have worked with at their Plantation location! She has remarkable technique and soft hands making for a relaxing and productive service. Paid just over $100 and added a fair gratuity for a 90-minute deep tissue massage that could easily cost double that at a spa. Not sure I understand the reviews complaining about them asking for a tip; asking is not meant to be insulting. No disrespect whatsoever intended, but purposefully insulting people is a big no no in the Asian culture, and that is not their intent. When you come out of a damn good massage, your therapist deserves a damn good tip. And since your mind is possibly still up in the clouds, I see nothing wrong with a gentle question/reminder on the gratuity. I will faithfully return to Linda whenever I am in the area! I went to this location on my way home leaving Holiday Inn Express. I purchased an hour long massage. I told the rep at the front desk to have the masseuse focus on my shoulders and feet. The woman who did my massage didn't speak a lick of English. She did my should blades. I felt a mild pain. Then my buttocks, legs, and face. When she got to me feet, at felt like she would't penetrate between my toes. So i told her politely "can you go in between the toes?" Again she couldn't understand me so I let her finish. Well she didn't after all. I really wanted her to pull, yank, spread each toe. She didn't massage my hands either. They asked me how much I wanted to tip of course. I said "nothing" or zero because I didn't really feel much different when I got up. I wasn't almost sleep or fully relaxed. So i didn't feel she deserved a tip at all. Well the look on their (the desk woman and the masseuse) faces. Like she was like really not even $10.00. I told them I was low in funds which is true. I only had a few dollars I could tip on top of the $70.00 bill. So i agreed to add $3.00 as a tip. They didn't seem to thrilled by that. Needless to say I won't go back. I received a Groupon gift certificate for an hour long foot and body massage. I'm used to being asked before the massage begins if I have any areas I need focused on or any recent injuries I've had but I wasn't asked at all. The foot massage was decent but after that, the masseuse performed a deep tissue massage where he hoisted himself on my back and was straddling me which was odd in itself. I assumed I would have received a Swedish massage since I didn't ask for a deep tissue but that's what I get for assuming. Overall the place was clean and very basic in decor, no soothing music or candles for ambience and I was the only person there on a Sunday. It took them 15 minutes to confirm that I had paid in advance for services & what those services were. I had purchased a 1 hour massage & 1/2 hour of stretching via their website the previous day. They didn't even know I was coming. The massage itself was very good. I went to the Tamarac location. Things I didn't like: Masseuse did not understand or speak English well so I had a hard time communicating with her. I had to ask her twice to stop working on one area & move to another because I was concerned there wouldn't be enough time to get my entire body massaged. She also got on to the table & straddled me which hurt my leg. She also got a little too handsey on my chest. At the end of the hour she still hadn't finished massaging my whole body & took another 1/2 hour to finish. I wondered if they were going to charge me for the additional half hour. I then asked her to send in the woman who was supposed to stretch me. I didn't understand what she said but got the impression she wasn't going to do that. So I asked her to have the woman come to the massage room to talk to me. She never came. When I walked out to talk to the woman she told me that the masseuse had already done some stretching on me & decided I couldn't take what they usually do. So she wouldn't stretch me. I asked if she would modify the intensity of the stretches but she would not. I used a credit card & asked her to put a tip of $10 on the card. I was told that she expected $20. When I told her that was not acceptable to me she asked me to pay $15. I did so but wish I had walked out without paying a tip since I did not get what I paid for. I have nerve damage from a car accident. I went to get an hour long massage last night focused on my back, shoulders, neck and arms. I received fantastic service and an unbelievably great massage. My muscles were extremely tight and contracted before I went. Today, I feel like the range of motion in my back, shoulders and neck have completely opened up and my arms feel really loose. I highly recommend Soothing Oasis for deep tissue massages. Judy is the Grandmaster but all the Masseuses are extremely skilled. The customer service is great and the prices are very reasonable.
