Yesterday I forgot a coupon and my wife sent a picture and the person who was at the cash register (the personality of a muffler) said you have to have the paper coupon in order to get the discount. I couldn't understand that so when I went home and looked them up on the internet low and behold there are coupons galore and it says "just show this to the cashier" so I called the muffler and he was very sarcastic and said well you didn't show me the coupon, have a nice day sir and hung up. My wife and I (and our other family members) get our vehicles serviced here all the time, but no longer after today. I came in for a simple oil change and was shown that our air filter needed to be changed due to damage. The price was $45 for the filter change and the mechanic said he would take off $5. I said that's a bit steep and he stated that they go off what others are charging for the same service. I said fine. I then searched for this filter and how to replace it and within 3 minutes of me doing that I went back to tell him I changed my mind but the work was done. I told him that it's a rip off to charge $45 for a $10 filter that took 3 minutes to change and he responds with "well you can get oil for $30 and do it yourself too". Such a great response that now I will make sure my entire family that goes there for service never will again. I might even tell my local friends about this terrible experience. read more

From the onset I was met with a rude employee taking my car in. The oil change portion was fine---albeit for them trying to sell me a cabin filter I did not need. The state inspection sticker was a different story. The person who was performing the inspection called me out of the waiting room and showed me a single streak left from my windshield wiper and told me that I needed to buy new ones--which they had for $25/piece--or I would be receiving a reject sticker. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my wipers. They gave me an "R" sticker and said I had 60 days to replace my wipers. When I was then paying for the services, I told the rep I left like I was being held hostage to buy products from them I did not want. I told the representative that I was trying to support a small business and based on the above I would not be returning. Their response---"good we don't want you to return." I then asked for the managers phone number/email so I could speak with them about the way I was being treated. The representative refused ---saying they did not want to give me the contact information of their boss. I drove .1 mile to Napa Auto Parts, replaced my wipers for $25---including installation--and returned to SoonerLube. At this point I was met with a significant amount more rudeness and frustration for me coming back. I watched from the waiting room as they looked at my vehicle--- they did not even try/look at the new wipers I had just purchased!!! I did take a video of my wipers prior to having them replaced. I will be reporting this to the Mass State inspection authorities as I do not believe proper training on what passes/fails is properly being administered at this shop. Furthermore, based on them not checking what they had just failed me for is further reinforcement they were just trying to sell me things I did not need. My wife took our truck in for inspection. The exhaust pipes are custom - but legal (have passed inspection many times). They warned her she was going to fail because of the pipes and the windshield wipers. After some discussion that decided they would relent on the pipes if they bought the wipers from them (some exorbitant price). Years ago I went there for an oil change... no facts to prove it but I'm convinced the kid who approached my car to find out what I wanted was stoned as hell. "After" the oil change one guy started the car and the other yelled (with urgency) to shut it off. When they were done I was told I was all set - BUT they did find a bit of oil near the filter - and made me initial the note included on the invoice (why I did, I'll never know). * I will NEVER go to this place again! * read more

I needed an inspection and in the back there is a designated bay for it with a sign which I've come to in the past. I pulled up to that inspection bay and a guy inside the garage starts waving his hands and obviously agitated and yelling. I can't hear him because he's in there behind the doors. I'm trying to figure out what he's saying. There are no other cars around me or even waiting and it seems like he wants me to back up like 30 feet. I slowly back up, he opens the other door and still waving so I figure he wants me to come to that bay so I start to slowly roll to the other door and he gets even more angry. How the heck and I supposed to know what he wants me to do if he won't come out and communicate like a normal person. He was extremely rude. So I just drove off. BLUF: These guys were unbelievably bad based on our experience, and you should take my advice and stay far, far, far away from them. I kept receiving emails from Sooner Lube requesting me to log into Yelp to review their business after we visited and providing an email address so we could receive a coupon. So now it's time to review! Thanks for the suggestion Sooner Lube. It was time for my fiancé's oil change in her Toyota so I looked online and Sooner Lube had good hours on a Saturday morning, and, based on their pictures, they seemed as legit as a Valvoline, JiffyLube or Midas for such service. I wished I would have looked at Yelp prior to our visit! The Good: The Oil Change, if there was one, was fast (I wish I would have seen them actually put oil into the car, but I can only assume). The Bad: Everything else! My fiancé needed an oil change and for someone to add some air to her tires as the tire pressure sensor light was illuminated in her car. We left the vehicle with Sooner Lube and they proceeded to check the tire pressure and change the oil. After an expedient, or 8 minute service as they claim, they said the car was finished and ready to go. I asked, what I presumed was the manager, if there was anything wrong with my fiancé's tire pressure on her Toyota. She said, "Let me check." She went out, came back and said, "Yep the guys checked everything and you are good to go." They pulled her car out of the garage and my fiancé stepped in. When she did, the tire pressure sensor light was still on. I asked one of the Sooner Lube techs to re-check her tire pressure as her light was still on and he did. He spent about 2 seconds per tire checking to make sure everything was good and called out to us, "The tire pressure is where it needs to be!" I felt everything less than awful from this experience and as we filled up for gas from a nearby gas station. I pulled out my tire pressure gauge from my truck and decided to check her tire pressure. The right side of her vehicle was ok (around 32 PSI) while the left side was low (around 23-28 PSI on each tire). I paid the 50 cents at the gas station to put air into her left tires and wouldn't you know...her tire pressure sensor went off! Unbelievable! With my remarkable performance of putting some additional air in her tires the tire pressure light was no longer illuminated on the dashboard. Finally, we went into the shop with her key fob remote fully intact and all the buttons working. After we left, the buttons on the remote were missing. I wish I would have taken a picture of the before and after, but who really thinks to worry about your key fob when taking it in for an oil change. That's at least $100 bill to get her key fob replaced and programmed. This place gets very few 5 star reviews and mostly 1 star reviews, but I highly doubt the integrity of this place. The 5 star reviews are probably either from the owner, workers or customers who thought they had a good experience. Ultimately, I felt like this was a place that will try to dupe you in anyway. Terrible experience...I don't even know if her oil was changed. If they can't even check tire pressure correctly, you should not trust them to change your oil. STAY AWAY! read more

I had my oil changed today at Sooner Lube in Tewksbury Rt.38. They forget to put the oil filler cap back on. I drove home and opened the hood and had oil blow back all over the engine. Went back and had them clean the engine compartment and top off the oil. I should have demanded a steam clean as when the engine heats up on highway you can smell the oil burning off. They must have just used a rag to wipe off the easily visible oil. read more

I went a 17 point oil service. When the service was complete, they said that they do not vacuum anymore, but it's advertised. I asked for the tires to be checked and they had but when I got home they were still as low as 24 lbs and I am not sure if fluids were topped. I called beforehand to see if they were equipped to do a synthetic oil change on my Audi and was assured they could do it all for $76. I went the following weekend, drove right in, and sat in the waiting area. The technician comes in after it's done, tells me I'm good to go, and that will be $93. When I asked what happened to the $76 that I was quoted over the phone he said it required a special oil filter which was an additional $14. Rather than quibble I paid the $93 and went about my merry way...for about 50 yards. As I drove off down Rt 38 I heard this horrendous, very loud, very concerning, noise coming from under my car. Thinking I drove over something, I pulled into the first driveway, a drive-thru restaurant and got out to look under my car but couldn't see anything. I waited a few minutes then proceeded to drive back to Sooners Lube to see what it could have been. The technician drove it right in and the person in the pit under the car took a look. Long story short, it seems the underground technician had neglected to tighten an underbody cover that protects the oil pan and lower motor and transmission. Needless to say the cover was in pretty bad shape. I was referred to the office of the manager, an Asian man named Dave, who, as it turns out, is also the owner. I will wrap this up by saying Dave was the only member of the Sooner's team who was rude, beligerent, and ignorant. He looked, said the cover was already damaged when I got there, and suggested I just put it in my trunk. When I asked for a business card or a contact person to follow up with over the companies liability policy he said, no he didn't have a card, wouldn't provide his last name, and was leaving at that time. To me, the bottom line is this...no apology, no offer to repair the damage, and not so much as a refund or coupon to try and make amends for the damage and my time. Through the whole debacle the technicians working for Dave were polite, courteous, and contrite. Dave the owner/manager on the other hand rude, dismissive, and ignorant. When the service was complete, did not vacuum, said it's something they don't do anymore, but it's advertised, tires still said they were low, and not sure if fluids were topped. Went to Sooner Lube today for an oil change. What a big mistake that was. They claim to do all the fluid checks and check the tire pressure. None of this was performed, only a simple draining the oil and replacing it with supposedly synthetic Moble One. I really have my doubts after reading other reviews about this crooked place. They don't value customers and are totally stupid when it comes to realizing who is paying their hourly wage. Insult to injure they put tap water in my windshield washer solution tank instead of windshied washer solution. I wouldn't trust them to do my state inspection for a sticker. I would give them no star if I could. Stay away from this place or you may live to regret it like I did. Sometimes convience is not always the best choice like in my situation. Sloppy, messy, unprofessional. Took my car here for inspection and oil change. Shocked to see they had not removed all the glue from the old sticker, and had just applied the new one above the gluey area!!! I asked them to remove it and the guy clumsily tried a scraper, then gave up and said the glue was hardened by sun and state is using stronger glue these days and I would have to work on it with windex or something!!! My inspection sticker was expired, so I went here with the anticipation that it might take a bit. Wow, was I wrong! I couldn't find my registration in my glove compartment at first, so I parked and when I finally did find it, the guys blocked the line off so I could go first, which they certainly didn't have to do. They were patient and told me it wouldn't take long. My car was in the inspection bay no more than 10 minutes including the time it took me to pay. Horrible customer service and totally unprofessional. We brought our car in for an inspection as we're new to Mass and just registered it. They failed it for a check engine light and just gave us the code. Joseph got frustrated with us because we didn't understand the re-inspection process saying "I've explained that two times" and "I literally said that three times" when asked a related but not covered question. He couldn't tell us what the code meant, but we were pretty sure we knew. Took it to another garage who said inspection stations can allow one non-safety related failure and are required by law to give you a pamphlet about the code. This other garage did so, as the code was not active anyway (evap sensor), cleared it, and told us to come back in 100 miles for them to check. Since Joseph and Sooner Lube couldn't even be bothered to Google what the code was or provide the paperwork Mass requires I will be reporting them to the RMV. They try to add on extra services they claim you need, like special additives. They told us we needed rear differential fluid added to our Ford Explorer so we did it. It wasn't cheap. Not more than a couple weeks later our Explorer starts making funny noises from the rear. We took it to the Ford dealership and they asked us if we took it somewhere other than a Ford dealership and did they put in the rear differential fluid. Apparently when you put that in that fluid on Explorers it requires an extra additive or it can ruin your differential. Cost us more to fix it cause Sooner Lube didn't know what they're doing. Bottom line, they can do an oil change fast, but don't let them do anything else to your car cause it seems like the mechanics really don't know cars all that well...Save yourself some money and a headache... read more

They are scammers. They send out these coupons for 11 dollars off and then you get there and they tell you, you need all this other bologna. My girlfriend took her car there and they told her she needed to have the engine flushed, if she didn't the oil would burn again. Which is horse crap, the engine did not need to be flushed. They charged her 40 dollars for the engine flush, on top of the 22 for the oil change. Also the car left there with the service engine light on. When i confronted the owner he made it my girlfriends fault saying she could of said no. The mechanics here are mickey mouse mechanics. AWWWWWWWWWFUL. read more

I went into Sooner Lube to get my radiator flushed out and also asked them if they rotate tires. My tires were overdue for a rotation. They told me that they did and I handed the truck over to them. While waiting for the truck to be fixed I could hear the air wrench making some weird noises. I made a mental note to check the tires later. I drove down the street to get a coffee, and that's when I noticed I was missing a lug nut and that lug bolt was sheared off. When the truck was handed back to me not a word was said about this. If you break something it is your responsibility to inform the owner. Needless to say, that is the last time I will be going to a Sooner Lube. If I could rate this store no stars I would. But this site forces you to give them at least one star in order to complete your review. read more

This was done by owner Dave Kim who then told me I could leave the car and he would "fix " it. Imagine my suprise when I returned to find my car missing and the remaining staff not knowing anything about the car. Imagine my furthur suprise on passing by it at another shop up the street. Mr. Kim had them try to fix it with a micky mouse repair with an aft market plug. I brought the car home only to discover it leaking oil. Next stop the Volvo dealer for a $650. repair. Mr. Kim's response? I did not need to replace the pan, and that this was why he didn't like to work on Volvos! What?????????????? No compensation for me. read more

I went to sooner lube about a weeks ago for a oil change, after a few minutes of waiting in the waiting area they call me in to show me after a 17pt check that my transmission fluid was burnt and it was low, the tech did explain to me in full details of what it does and what can happen if burnt fluid stayed in, he also show me the fluid coming out. I agreed to the service and now I feel the transmission has been running excellent. I'm am so pleased with the service and just the overall experience there. If I can rate more then 5 star I would and would highly recommend anybody for their automotive needs read more
