A magnet for hi-fi buffs, my recent experiences with Richer Sounds come mainly through looking for…read morean LCD TV, a type of product notoriously awkward to buy as there are so many deals going about both in shops and on the internet, that it can be difficult to know where to start. The staff here are very helpful and don't give you the hard-sell bollocks that makes going into some other electronics retailers a stressful and often awkward experience. Their special offers are very good and new ones come up all the time, so it's worth checking back regularly. It's not unusual to find a £1000 Sony TV here for little over half price. Unfortunately for poor old Mr Richer, I found a deal on Amazon that just edged out what was on offer here, but I'd still recommend the place, and would make it first stop on my next quest for high-end consumer electronics.

My last experience in here was in purchasing some speakers and an amp for my beleaguered old stereo system. It was great to be able to actually ask some question and not be met with a blank stare of utter confusion by the staff. The only real problem with this place is that its so popular with those in the know that it can become very busy at times, however its worth the hassle. Anyway, great service, fantastic offers and a welcome tonic to the sterile nature of some of the big electronic stores.

It's a beast of a machine which we've had absolutely no problems with. There's two good things about Richer Sounds.. 1.) You can get a 5 year warranty for 10% of the sale price of your machine. Compared to the lengths and prices of other stores, this is a blinking good deal. 2.) If you park on very expensive Chamber Street and buy something, they'll bring you a handful of change as compensation... How lovely!

Their strategy is to keep you coming back for more by ensuring high customer satisfaction and their strategy seems to work. The shop focuses on anything TV or audio based so it is a handy place to put together an entertainment system. You can actually put something good together using the items on sale here for a very reasonable amount making it great for those put off by the daunting prices of the ultra high end stores.

Despite this, the fundamentals of this place are good and if you want high, but not ultra-high, end this is the place to come. There isn't however, the greatest amount of variety of each product type in store. As a shop it's decent enough, but if you're picky you'll want to go both here and somewhere else.

If only I had disposable income…read more First of all unless you have at least £1000 to burn, you're going to struggle here. But if you do that have kind of cash and your a tech head, batter in. This place specialises in brands that you have heard of, but models you've never seen. What do I mean? I mean your unlikely to find these Sony TV's on sale on the high street. This begs the question I would be asking myself as I made my way through the shop. Whats the difference between a £700 40 inch and a £1400 40 inch TV? None that I could see. They also sell a range of other AV gear, but to be honest, it's just for people who like to show off how much money they earn.
