Sonshine Tree Care - I was fortunate enough to find an excellent company that I would like to recommend to anyone seeking tree care. We were specifically looking for a certified arborist that could help us assess what trees need to be removed from our property. Sonshine came hghly recommended. I should mention that they are slightly different from other service providers. I was immediately impressed when Evan, the arborist from Sonshine, arrived AT THE TIME HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO ARRIVE. This was strange as no one ever arrives at the time of your appointment. I was given an estimate at the time of the initial assessment, which was the removal of 8 trees. Evan took the time to explain how and why each tree did or did not need to be removed and he was extremely knowledgeable and professional. The estimate was fair and completely detailed and sent to us the very same day. I received an email re-affirming their arrival at 8 am for the day of the removal. Here is the shocking part of my narrative, Sonshine Tree Care arrived at 8 am and started working. The tree removal was well orchestrated without any damage to my perimeter fence. I am writing this as I watch a well orchestrated team of three perform a variety of tasks that I contracted. The order is to remove three mature firs amid other mature firs along a fence line, some trimming and cleanup work on a couple of other trees, the dismantling of a dual trunk maple that failed and fell in two directions, and the removal of other undesirable bushes. I could not wait for them to finish to write this review, they are that amazing. A few of the notable experiences I have had with them: extremely knowledgeable, they listen to the customer's needs and desires with earnest and eager attention, they are very efficient (I cannot believe how much has been accomplished already in only three hours), they are cleaning up after themselves as they go (I expected cleanup to be the last task), safety of people and property is clearly very important to this team, every team member is happy! This is an impressive crew performing work that I could not do myself. They have the right equipment, the right experience, the right knowledge, and the right attitude. My only regret is not hiring them sooner. If you require the services of a truly compassionate and professional arboriculture company, I cannot recommend Sonshine Tree Care enough! True, I really have no basis for comparison, but this has already been a far better experience than I expected when I decided I needed some trees to come down. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Sonshine Tree Care. When I called to schedule the appointment they were able to get me on the schedule within a reasonable amount of time. Evan was very professional and typed up a very detailed estimate that he reviewed with me so that I clearly understood exactly what services were to be performed. He was then able to send it to me electronically. We got a couple different quotes and he was not the cheapest but by far the most professional. I also felt his quote was much more clear and since there was a lot of detail I felt much more comfortable going with him, We were able to get the work scheduled quickly and they even showed up a little early for the appointment. They took down about a 35 foot evergreen and pulled out about 7 "firebushes." They did a great job cleaning up the debris and even went so far as to pick up the little leftover sharp stabbie twigs from the "firebush" that ended up in the yard. This, in my opinion, was above and beyond what the work agreement called for. They came in well under the estimated time and he adjusted the original estimate which frankly I didn't expect them to do. I was beyond happy with the cost which was less than $400! Our neighbors tree came down into our yard during the wind storm and I've been calling to get a tree service out to give me an estimate. I called these people because they had a 5 star rating and was told they don't do estimates they will come out do the job then tell you what it will cost. What kind of business is that and who in their right mind would hire any jerk to do that. So I'm posting this review as a warning, they could charge you anything. Maybe I was treated like that because Im a woman and they think I'm gullible but I've got news for them I'm NOT. I would not recommend anyone call for their service and I know I will spread the word. If they don't do estimates then they shouldn't advertise that they do. Just had Evan out last week to take down a 50-60 ft. tree that had a nasty lean to it, but Evan put on his spikes and limbed it on the way up, lopped off the top and cut the tree into sizes that I requested. He was quite careful dropping the branches in a predetermined spot taking great care not to hit any of the shrubs nearby. It only took about two hours to limb and buck the tree and Evan left the yard cleaner than when he arrived. He uses nothing but the best in chainsaws and has a massive shredding machine that will handle any amount and size of branch/tree up to 15". Sonshine Tree Care will provide you not only with a good price for the work done but will also provide you with all his professional certifications so you know your dealing with someone who knows what their doing and is properly licensed and insured. Sonshine Tree Care, Stanwood ,WA...Evan is a very knowledgeable, honest and professional arborist. When he came to give us an estimate he took the time to evaluate our trees, promptly sent us a bid, fit us into his schedule and updated his arrival time via email. Our tree is a big asset to our home and Evan took the time to remove all deadwood and rubbing limbs..not a rush job!! They may do an acceptable job once on site however I have no way of knowing since they never showed up for the appointment to give us a quote. When I called to find out if they were going to show they said they had no record of me or our appointment. This in spite of fact that they returned my initial call and required an email address when I made the appointment. All of this begs the question , if they can't handle making an appointment, how competent can they be when it comes to the dangerous work of tree removal? read more

We used Sonshine Tree Services today. I have already recommended this company to two of my friends. The estimate was fair and accurate. We had several cedar trees taken down and removed. They were timely and quick to finish the job, clean up was above and beyond. Highly recommend this company, Evan did a wonderful job. On March 13, 2016, at 4:30p.m. a tree came down on our home. Sonshine was there in an hour taking the tree off of the roof and cleaning up the yard where it didn't look like anything had happened, except for the roof. They worked until 10:30p.m. which included putting a tarp on the roof. Their work was professional and we would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I had a corkscrew willow VERY close to my house and my neighbor's shop. They worked quick and were able to take the tree out without any damage to either structure.
