This is by far my favorite experience in Sonoma / Napa. The people who run this business are so kind and patient. Both towards the customers and the horses! You can definitely tell that they treat the horses well and know them really well. They pair you with a horse that fits your skill level. I got to ride Jacques, the best horse!!!

Michelle runs a quality operation and I won't ride on horses that are not well cared for because I respect them as intelligent animals of beauty and character. The horses were happy, groomed nicely and super well mannered, my horse was like being in auto pilot as he knew exactly what to do so I could enjoy the visual elements of the ride and pay attention to the tour talk of the oldest winery in CA at Bartholomew in Sonoma, right next to Buena Vista winery vineyards and along serene creek side trails that opened up to the vibrant mustard flowers meadows. They have different trail ride options from beginner to intermediate experience level of horse riders . The tour I chose included 2 bottles of delicious cab that you pick up by name at the tasting room on a hillside that overlooks the valley and wooded hills. I really enjoyed my horse and galloped some, he interacted well with all the other horses, of which it was a small group of 3 riders and a tour lead. Very interesting location for a relaxing ride from bat boxes to vineyard history, it was a memorable ride. The quality of the saddles and horses is high, with some horses being former show horses, race horses and all in great health. I will be back for a longer ride for sure! Michelle adjusted my saddle expertly so my long legs were perfectly fit to the horse and saddle, so no cramping or aches could occur. Outstanding experience overall!

What a great ride, touring the vineyard! Travis was an awesome guide. Throughly enjoyed learning about the vineyard and the wildlife!

This was definitely the highlight of our trip! Michelle and her team were nothing short of absolutely amazing! The views and history are spectacular and the horses are incredibly sweet and so easy to ride for all. Don't miss out on this if you're in the area!!!

This place exceeded my expectations. Chris was out tour guide & she is AWESOME.!. Very patient & attentive. This was my first time riding a horse I was so nervous but she put my mind at ease. Wine tasting at Canihan Vineyard was a special treat as well.!. Highly recommend this place.!. Can't wait to go again.!.

Had an awesome experience trail riding with Michelle this past weekend. We got such a beautiful day and really lucky on the weather. Michelle was warm, inclusive, outgoing, and told us all about the different sites on the land we were trail riding on. She took great photos and really great care of us as riders. I would highly highly recommend a trail ride with Sonoma Valley Trail Rides, and I hope to be back out there soon with the team!

What a great way to spend the day in Sonoma! The views, the horses, and most especially our trail guides Michelle and Chris were wonderful! They cater to all levels of riders from beginner to advanced. And you get a bottle of wine at the end of the ride what more can you ask for?

Off we go!

My first time riding and we had such a great time. From the moment we arrived, Travis and Michele were so awesome. They helped me choose the perfect horse, Archie, and helped me learn the basics before departing. Off we went through beautiful vineyards at a relaxing pace so we could enjoy all the sights. Can't wait to go back and ride again! Thanks for a wonderful birthday! I highly recommend this to everyone wanting to enjoy a beautiful ride!

'Jack' and I ready to hit the trails.

Such a wonderful equestrian experience. Really fun to be back in the saddle again. SVTR staff was friendly, knowledeable and professional. The setting was in a scenic area of Sonoma where the grapes were blooming and ready to be harvested. This is a must for anyone who desires a great riding experience with well trained horses.

They are prepared w/ a Luxury black shuttle van. Paul (our driver) was so informative and so knowledgeable about the Sonoma and Napa History. I appreciate how they already had an itinerary planned out for the day. We visited 4 wineries which one had a wonderful farm to table lunch waiting for us (which this was included in ticket price) Each winery visited made us feel at home/great stories/great people and great wine waiting for us upon arrival! Wine tasting fees are addl around $35-40 per person. Our last winery visited Paul helped us to get TSA approved shipping boxes which wine got home safely! Wish we could've stayed longer at Buena Vista and Sangiacomo. Would highly recommend wine trolley/bus tour and felt ticket price was reasonable for having great service/knowledgeable driver/lunch for an all day tour.

We stoped at four places. One beautiful vineyar with spectacular views, a food terrace and wine tasting area, a winery and makery, and another wine tasting bar. Would definitely do this again and highly recommend!

After picking everyone up, our group went to Saddleback Cellars. This was a great vineyard to visit - we were seated right next to the beautiful fields and enjoyed sipping our wine while walking right next to the growing grapes! The lady working there was friendly and it was really nice learning more about the history of their vineyard. They've won several awards, and we could see why! These were some delicious wines. Next, we made our way to Merryvale Vineyards where we also stopped to have our boxed lunch. Their inside space was gorgeous and it was interesting learning about the barrel aging process. We enjoyed our tasting here too! We finished up at Backstage which was one of the highlights of the day - the wines we tasted were excellent and the seating area is just gorgeous, overlooking their beautiful vineyards. We decided to buy a bottle here and enjoyed it later during our trip. Platypus was a great choice for our tour - when I was searching for tour options online it was affordable for our group, had great reviews and I can see why! Army was excellent, I loved that they picked you up and dropped you back to your hotel, and the reduced rates for the tastings helped a lot too! On my next Napa visit I would definitely book with them again.

Some tours have been truly exceptional, while others have been more average. The guides have all been good, although some definitely stand out more than others. Ultimately, though, the biggest factor in the experience is the wineries you visit and how generous they are with their pours. You'll quickly learn what a "revisit" means on these tours. Most wineries are happy to pour you another taste, but some are surprisingly stingy and seem more interested in selling bottles than providing a memorable tasting experience. Some will happily pour their most expensive wines, while others will talk about those wines without actually letting you taste them unless you're willing to buy a bottle. Honestly, that's disappointing, especially when you're there to experience and learn about the wine. That said, Platypus itself is fantastic. The shuttles are spacious, the groups are small, and the overall experience is a great way to explore wine country without the hassle of driving between wineries. My biggest recommendation: tell your tour guide upfront that you want fun, welcoming wineries that are generous with their pours. The right winery selection can take an already good tour and make it an outstanding one. We'll absolutely consider booking with Platypus again!

We decided to go with Valet of the Moon because of all of the positive reviews and the fact that they drive your personal or your rental car, thus saving you a lot of money (like 50% - 75% off a town car service). What we didn't expect were all the fabulous recommendations that Colleen gave us. She listened to what we were looking for in our Napa experience and made recommendations based on our feedback. We wanted to visit small, family-owned wineries that we'd never heard of and couldn't buy their wines in Houston. Colleen provided a fabulous list of wineries that fit the bill. We wish we could have visited them all, but only got to 7 over 2 days. We were blown away with the wineries she took us to outside the valley floor. We never would have discovered these on our own! We spent a day on Spring Mountain that was nothing short of spectacular. And for the cherry on top, Colleen herself was fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed our day with her. She walked us in to each winery, made sure we were being taken care of, and then quietly disappeared until it was time to go. Then she'd kindly send us a 15 minute text reminder because we could have stayed at some of the wineries all day. I can't recommend Colleen & Valet of the Moon highly enough. We will call on her for every trip to Napa or Sonoma.

Hands Down the Best Driver in Napa Valley!…read more I discovered George on Yelp, and after comparing other Napa car services--many quoting well over $1,000 for wine tours--it's clear why his customers rave about him. His reviews truly say it all! There were plenty of reasons we chose George over the rest. From our very first contact, George was incredibly responsive and communicative. I had a party of 10 (6 adults and 4 kids) for my husband's 40th birthday celebration and needed a vehicle that could securely accommodate a car seat with a latch system--his car was absolutely perfect. He arrived right on time, greeted us warmly, and was super easy to talk to. Throughout the day, George consistently arrived within minutes at each of our destinations. He didn't just drop us off--he guided us to the exact entrances and exits of every winery, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. On top of that, he shared insightful feedback about why each winery is special, adding a whole new level of appreciation to our tour. Another bonus, he provided water in an iced cooler and white glove door service! What really stood out was George's impressive local knowledge. Without even needing navigation, he expertly drove us from Petaluma to Napa while sharing fascinating stories and history about the wineries, estates, and the region itself. If you want a professional, friendly, affordable, and knowledgeable driver for your Napa experience, George is your guy! Highly recommend and would easily book him for our next trip!
