The scope was extensive, including entirely new HVAC, plumbing, and electrical throughout and we are thrilled with the results. As someone who works with many contractors professionally, I was particularly impressed by Anthony's "open-book" transparency and honesty. He was incredibly patient and collaborative with high-level finishing details, consistently working to meet our exacting expectations. If you want a builder who prioritizes integrity and craftsmanship, I highly recommend MCD. Thank you, Anthony!

They are the real deal; the workmanship is top-notch and their prices are totally fair. We had the inevitable project speed bumps, like unknown structural issues or 80 year-old plumbing issues; but Anthony and has team were quick to come up with solutions, and they were able to work with me to keep additional costs under control. We had no issues with any sub-contractors and were just as pleased with their work. He's chosen some great people to partner with. Even though the the project is now complete, Anthony has committed to coming back for a couple very minor follow-ups. 10/10, highly recommend and would definitely work with again.

We were drawn to his past work and trusted right away that he could bring our vision to life. Even in the design phase, Nick's attention to detail and thoughtful approach have really stood out. He is warm, approachable, and easy to talk with--our meetings have been collaborative, enjoyable, and often filled with personal touches and stories that made the process feel comfortable and inspiring. Nick has guided us through material choices with great care, bringing beautifully vetted samples and unique, locally sourced options for wood, tile, and finishes. His passion for quality and sustainability really shines through, and we've loved his creative solutions and ability to offer custom, one-of-a-kind ideas to make the space truly our own. So far, working with Nick has been both fun and reassuring--we feel confident that when it comes time to build, our kitchen and dining room will be even more beautiful than we imagined.

Nick is a licensed general contractor and extraordinary carpenter with a great eye for detail. He is classically trained with a BFA in sculpture from University of the Arts in Philadelphia and exhibit buildout at SFMOMA. He checked all the boxes at our first on-site meeting and revisits. He was on time, on budget, an excellent listener and terrific communicator, highly skilled craftsman and problem solver, true to form with the best tools and matching materials, self-proclaimed nit-picky perfectionist, fine finish matching and all around nice guy. Nick is honest, quick to respond, perfect on the details, has very high standards, and is very caring and positive, gracious and modest. He used the existing design not reinventing the wheel and most likely would have improved the gateway design given the chance. Nick is an exceptionally talented contractor with many years of creative problem solving. To repeat, he has a great eye for detail and sculpted, integrated, seamless design with unique elements evidenced by his extensive portfolio. I never felt the need to micromanage him. He is terrific at remote site communication and management. We live in the East Bay and the owner is in Hawaii which adds a level of complexity to remote destination work. I stepped back remotely and admired Nick's process with timely before and after pictures. The end result was outstanding! We will definitely use Nick on our next project, very highly recommended!

He walked us through every step of the process, and was always available for every question or concern that we had. Some contractors take a day or two to return your calls. Not Phil (or his wife, Michelle). He would either pick up immediately, or call us back in a few hours. He was always transparent, and willing to explain everything in great detail. His guys are fabulous to work with, and are such hard workers. Their craftsmanship and care for their work really shows. He also stands by his work. When we had an issue with some water leakage, he came immediately to fix it and covered all of the expenses. Hire Phil. You won't regret it. You won't get a flaky contractor. I worked with Mark Andrilla from this company. I can't recommend him enough, he was fantastic, I…read morewould definitely choose him again in the future if I need it. I was looking for surveyors for a neighborly fence dispute and wanted to figure out the boundary. Out of all the companies I reached out to, they were not only the fastest to reply, but also the most helpful. I probably reached out to about 8 or 9 companies, most never replied, 3 total replied one of them just replied they would get back to me after a week (they never did), the other one quoted 12k for the work and where not transparent on what the work would actually be. Mark Andrilla from Cinquini was exceptional. Not only did we have a productive phone call where he explained the options for the survey, the different types (city manager had also requested a topo survey) and about placing flags on the boundary. He walked me through the pros/cons and went the extra mile pulling the parcel descriptions I was looking at. It turns out the zillpow and google maps lot boundaries are simplified, and the actual deeds for the 2 plots describe a zig zag border, which actually aligns with what I observed. Mark suggested me to first do an informal walk through and then figure out if it was worth going the extra mile and do a survey, he explained the costs and the state requirement to submit the survey to the state, a large cost in itself. In the end, I realized the current border zig zag, though visually it looks like encroaching, is actually barely so, perhaps an inch here or there, and not the several feet I thought there was. It's odd that the boundary between only these 2 parcels is not a straight line like for most others in the subdivision, but its clear as day in both adjacent parcel descriptions. In the end, Mark saved me the cost and aggravation of the survey and put to rest my concerns. He truly puts customers needs front and center, I fully recommend him.

The pool contractor suggested hiring a surveyor but he doubted I could get a rapid answer or that it would be a reasonable price. I located this company on Yelp and called them. I was immediately referred to Mike, one of their professional surveyors, who quickly assessed my issue and then promised to research the City records and call me the next morning. Not only did he call me the next morning but he found time in his schedule to visit my property that morning as well. Within an hour of arriving we had identified two buried property markers that established where my backyard property line was so pool construction could continued. In addition to the speed at which Matt delivered professional surveyor services, he was also a delightful person who taught me a lot about the job of surveying.... And yes, his prices were very reasonable and great value for the money I spent.

Sofie's house, in the Fountaingrove Miramonte Division, burned to the ground in the early morning…read moreof the first day of the Tubbs fire. She learned of the event after fleeing the house and seeing the attached Press Democrat photo on her smartphone. The following week, the home owners of the division had a meeting. We sat outside on picnic benches to discuss the options of rebuilding. There were people from the city government, lawyers and contractors there. Among them were the Keith brothers. They came with the house plans for all the houses in the division. Edward Keith, their father, built the division some 20 years earlier. The plans were a godsend for purposes of getting insurance estimates for rebuild! Sofie and I liked the Keiths because they are genuine; no slick sales and no ridiculous promises. We visited SCB at their office on Santa Rosa Ave to discuss having them rebuild the house. They told us of various upgrades necessary: on demand water heater, fire sprinklers, EV outlet in garage, landscape design and other details. We met with another contractor the next week in a shopping center for coffee. He was a slick talker but was unaware of what plan upgrades were necessary and was pushy about "getting onboard". The Keith brothers are not pushy. Sofie got onboard with them because they were credible, patient and smart. Eric Keith had worked as an insurance adjuster some years back, so he knows the software that insurance companies use to come up with estimates. After Sofie choose SCB, issues with the insurance company were easily solved with Eric making a phone call to the adjuster to educate him on the realistic numbers to put into his spreadsheet. SCB uses the Buildertrend ( https://buildertrend.com/ ) to track progress and allow homeowners to select the options for the build, such as plumbing fixture finishes, brands and appliances. This is convenient for keeping track of the small but important parts of the build process. SCB, being familiar with insurance policies thoughtfully selected the best products and building practices to maximize the use of the insurance payout and give the best value. One feature we especially like is the post-tension slab; a series of cables that run through the concrete slab that are torqued down to eliminate any possibility of cracks in the future. We also liked that SCB clearly explained each of the processes needed to be done, who would do it, when it would be done and what the costs would be. There are no surprises with SCB. We also appreciate that SCB dedicates Mary M. a design coordinator who assists in selection of flooring, countertops, cabinets, paint schemes, appliances and the like. Mary keeps the selections within budget and of the highest quality.
