I needed to get my front bumper and left molding fixed on my Mazda3. I went to a few places for quotes, but this place was the only one that showed me the parts inventory and walked me through everything. His price also came out cheaper than everywhere else. He was quick and efficient; the work really speaks for itself. Highly recommended! read more

I got a tip that Sonny could fix my car. Brought my car in about 4:30 on a Friday for an estimate. They didn't look busy.. no other customers, no mechanics... just quiet. Told the man I needed an estimate. He said "kind of late bringing in now." Hmm... they close at 6 but maybe he wants to go home early. He took one look glance at the car and said "it totaled, you should have taken it to the junkyard." I told him I didn't expect it to be perfect but I needed the frame looked at. He said the trunk and bumper are no longer available. I know, those would have to be used parts. He said we don't do that kind of work here. "We want our work to look nice." At this point it was clear he would not give me an estimate. Overall, not a friendly experience. read more

After going to 3 body shops in the Campbell area where they wouldn't give me an estimate on the spot and then later emailed me quotes, I found Sonny's shop in SJ. He gave me an estimate on the spot and it was less than 1/2 the price of the other shops. He completed the repair work in less than 24 hours and was a pleasure to work with. My car looks brand new again. I will be recommending this shop to everyone I know. read more

Sonny would get a 5 star for adjusting and welding my front bumper if he didn't damage my car. I am 99 percent sure he did because I just bought the car, did a full inspection, touched up every single chip, then I bring it to his shop and noticed that only one side of his gate is open. I knew it looked small but trusted that he will open the other door to go in. When I picked up my car, both of my mirrors had chips and scratches on it and I asked him if he said he hit anything he said no. I don't believe this and have images to prove when I dropped of the car it wasn't like that. I am disappointed he lied because I woulda forgave him or split half of the paint cost which is business for him. He was a referral and I felt he shudnt have lied but I understand because the work he did for me was 375$ , I gave him 380. If he had to repaint my two mirrors it wouldn't be worth it for him - I get it, but still he shud come clean. The cost of repaint my two mirrors cost more than the job I paid him to too, so in a way bad luck for me, fix one thing then get two damages. I had more jobs that i was going to send his way but because of integrity , not , skill or value, I will not be going anymore. He also doesn't provide receipt with recording of ur car so no point trying to argue wit him and I doubt he will let u check his cameras. read more

Back in March I went over to Sonny Van Auto Body for an estimate to repair and paint the rear bumper of my Impala. At first I was not confident, but I came back after a couple of days and left my car to be worked on. They stuck by their original estimate and actually finished the next day (sooner than expected). They did an excellent job with the repair and painting. my bumper looked brand new! The price was very reasonable and they were careful with the rear/bumper parking/reverse sensors so I wouldn't need to get them calibrated. I would definitely return for any other work needed on my cars. read more

I've had been to this shop multiple times including myself and my entire family(we're such good drivers that's why). A few experiences for our visit: 1. My mother backed into a fire hydrant and literally left a huge hole in her passenger side door on her brand new 2015 Camry. We got estimates for a few places and hands down Sonny Van was beatable in cost but their professionalism was on point. But who cares about all that right? What was the end result? We got the car back in a timely manner and it look brand new, as if we just got it out of the lot. 2. I had a 2005 BMW that had an unexplainable sound(knock) issue that was keeping me from being able to sell my car. Everyone that looked at it, was very concern about the sound and was convinced the car had a transmission issue and was an expensive fix. I googled, looked on all the car blogs, nothing explained what it was. I brought it here to Hung, left it there for him to diagnose it. When I came to pick up my car, the knock was no longer there! I was able to sell my car with ease afterwards. I owe this body shop my first born. read more

Came here to get my van fixed after someone rear ended me. They made the experience so stress free and so formative about what needs to be fixed and how long it would take. I been in many car accidents and had got ripped off by so many auto body shops close by. I would recommend this shop to everyone for your car repairs. read more

My wife's coworker is friends with the owner here and recommended them highly for honest, reliable work. Hung and his father are certainly helpful and honest and offer their services at highly competitive prices. I've been coming here for about 5 years now and have had a lot of work done on my 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse which is getting up in it's miles. They are so kind to accommodate my schedule and are willing to stay a little bit late after closing if I'm running behind from work. They are proficient and keep me updated as to any changes in services. Once quoted, they always compete the service in stated time. I've also had body work done on my 2006 Audi A3 3.2L Quattro and am blown away by how well they buff and color match without actually replacing the bumper or paneling. Once they repaired a portion of the rear bumper that was dented and deeply scratched from a fender bender. Flawless and completely unnoticeable. More recently, they did their magic again on a bigger project on the front right of the vehicle which was roughed up by a huge piece of plywood that fell off a work truck on the 101. They worked directly with my insurance company to make that experience as seamless as possible. I cannot recommend Sonny Van highly enough! read more

He charged me $300 for a fix such was quoted at $500, $700 and even $900 by other body shops in the area citing bullshit reasons that BMW 's rear bumper is complicated. Definitely recommended. read more

Sonny Van Auto Body - So happy with the new look!!! Thanks Hung!!!! - Body Shops Near Me - San Jose, California

Fast, friendly service. I dropped off my car a few days ago because my tires were bald. I also had new rims I wanted to put on. This place is family-owned so everyone is really easy to talk to. They explained to me and broke down what they were going to do with my car so I could understand unlike those other places that only talk to you in "mechanical" terms where nothing make sense when they're talking. The waiting room was clean and spacious. I highly recommend this place! read more

Affordable and did an amazing job!!! The minute I walked in, I was introduced to who I believe was the owner. He was an older vietnamese man who reminded me very much of my dad- so small and sweet! I had been in a slight fender bender that dented in the side of my front bumper and was almost sure that I had to get a brand new one. After going to 3 different body shops that all quoted me in the range of 1900-2100 dollars for a brand new one, I was discouraged because I just could not afford that much. Sonny Van Auto quoted me $700! Why so cheap? They said it wasn't necessary to put on a brand new bumper and that they could actually repair my original one. None of the other 3 body shops ever mentioned that option! *rolls eyes. Sonny Van Auto kudos for your honesty!!! 3 days later, I was back to pick up my baby and drive away in sheer happiness. It seriously looked like a completely brand new bumper! You guys are awesome :) read more

Thanks Kay for recommending this place! I needed my brake pads replaced and Hung was super nice on the phone and even nicer in person. Was upfront with all the info and gave me all the options. Considering how bad the state of my pads were he was concerned for me being on the road and got me in the next day. Had no problem answering all of my concerns and prices are very reasonable. He even added more glue to my falling off bumper and called me after I left the shop to tell me he did and be careful to let it dry. Excellent customer service. Coming here from now on to get my car maintained. read more

Went there to get my bumper painted. It came out amazing and perfect. Sonny clear my car of the scratches on the spoiler and trunk .They also readjusted them. Exceeded my expectations 10/5. Well worth the price! read more

I highly recommend this place. Price is extremely reasonable and great quality work! Can't go wrong.

Super helpful and affordable. I got rear ended awhile back in February and took my car here with a family friend's recommendation on a Friday. I thought it would take awhile for them to get to me car to work on or even to get the part. Uncle Ngoc got on the phone right away and found the part, he let me have the option of OEM or aftermarket and was up front about the price difference... I wouldn't have known any difference and he could have marked it up and I would have been sucked in to paying. Regardless, I felt it was a fair price he asked for part and labor, I dropped off the car on Sunday night and got it back Tuesday morning. My bumper was as good as new and paint color match perfectly. I highly recommend this place, not only for craftsmanship, professionalism but also for the super speedy service. read more

Most certainly One of the best autobody shops in the area great price and phenomenal work I will not go to anyone else

Recently my new Tesla got rear ended and the rear bumper needed paint repair. Sonny gave the best quote and I was referred by someone who knew Sonny. I was initially hesitant as this was not a Tesla authorized body shop. I took a chance and went with Sonny and he did not dissapoint me! He did an excellent job fixing up the car and making it look like new and also went above and beyond and cleaned up the car. He also gave it back in 2 days. Others mentioned more time to do the same job and also more expensive. I will highly recommend Sonny and will go to him for future needs! read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend who has known the mechanic for years. I must say that it is really nice to find an honest mechanic who is very knowledgable. Hung was very friendly and patient when answering my questions. I had him do a major tune up to my Lexus (water pump, timing belt, etc.) at a very reasonable price. I will come here from now on for any concerns with my car. read more

Great job with affordable pricing. Reliable and honest.

Went out of town for a few days and came back with a huge dent in my car. People suck. Anyway, took it here and got a great estimate. The repair was done within 2-3 days and it looked great! Super happy with their service and definitely recommend this shop to others! read more

Once again professional customer service and prices. Took my S2000 here to have rim and tires put on along with an alignment. Hung, my service technician was very knowledgable about "upsizing" and gave me little pointers. I sat there to watch the work be done. He works like a madman was very careful handling my expensive new rims. I will be back very soon to have some major work done on the head of my motor. read more

they gave me a quick but concise estimate on the damages done to my car. i appreciated the honesty and professionalism at this auto-shop!

Come here for my 4 wheel Alignments, they have the newer alignment machines which do an amazing job. I came without an appointment and they looked extremely busy. Hung took the time to move the cars and do my car without having me reschedule and come back. Great service! I was in and out within 30 minutes and my car drives straight as an arrow now. read more

Very satisfied with the quality, time and price of the repair. It's definitely my preferred auto body shop. Sonny Huynh, thank you for the service. read more

I normally don't write reviews, but in this case I had to make an exception. I took my wife's ES300 Lexus in to Hung for an estimate on fixing the rear bumper (the recent victim of a hit and run accident), His estimate was not only cheaper than three other shops, he got the work done the next day, My wife and I were truly amazed at how good a job he did. He not only matched the stock 2-color paint perfectly, he fixed the bumper rather than attempting to replace it, and there was no trace that the bumper had ever been damaged. Should we ever need body work again on any of our cars, we won't hesitate to come back. He definitely has our highest rating! read more
