The service earned the two stars, but the food was lukewarm. I ordered a #1 cheeseburger meal with onion rings. The onion rings were really hot and the cheeseburger tasted like it had sat awhile. I sent it back and proceeded to wait 20 minutes for my replacement. Unacceptable!! They were also out of Dr. Pepper and sweet tea? Come on .... really who runs out of sweet tea. Our server was very kind and courteous. He was a teen, well spoken, and offered us an extra spoon for the kids, which he went back and got for us. He had brown hair. Keep that kid employed! He's doing a great job. Side note, I've never seen that kid before and I don't know him personally. Sonic Drive-In on Dorchester Road in Summerville is one of my favorite Sonic locations in the area and a good place to get a quick snack when you need it. Terrible service. I ordered a total of 6 items. 3 of those were combos. Sat for 30 minutes just for the car hop to come tell me they're out of the product I ordered and was in process of making. He said it would be 10 minutes tops. So I said ok that's fine. 15 minutes went by and the same guy comes out and says it will be a additional 20 minutes. At that point I asked for a refund. I had both my kids with me and they were steady saying how hungry they were. I was hungry also after working all day. Why the person who took my order notified me about them being out of product before I paid ? Now I have to wait 4 days for my money to be returned to my card. I had a simple order: 1 limeade, 1 sprite and 1 order of pickle fries. I literally sat and waited for my order for over 30 minutes. If I could get away with not giving them a star at all I would. I get a pretzel, a sprite that taste like they put lime snow one syrup in a regular sprite. Every time I have came here I am disappointed cause my order is messed up, but I am all about second chances and trying to understand ok, they might be short handed like most places. But how hard is my order?? I wouldn't recommend this location. The car next to me had issues with their order cause I over heard they charged them for tots when she wanted fries. Then when I approached the person that brought my food another gentleman comes and said he didn't even get his burger he paid for. Never again sonic, well this sonic I won't be going back to. WORST. SONIC. EVER. I wish I could give them ZERO STARS. I used to stop by this sonic for slushes on my way home from work. The service was fast and the servers were friendly. Not anymore! Went there for the first time in a while a couple weeks ago and ordered a slush. "Sorry, our slush machine is broken." was the response I got. Tried lemonade. Nope, lemonade machine was broken too. Tried sweet tea. "We're out of sweet tea." . I gave up and left. Stopped by the following week and asked first about the slushy machine and was told it was fixed. Yay! I ordered a slush, and was so excited, until it was brought out to me. My 'slush' was water and syrup. There was no way whoever made it & brought it out didn't notice bc I could tell the second it was handed to me. I'm not gonna lie. When I say disappointed, I mean it. I ordered a sausage Jr breakfast burrito, French toast sticks, and a M&M blast. I received a bacon jr breakfast burrito with a burnt crispy egg and old chewy bacon. The French toast sticks were burnt to the point of being German toast sticks. I love Happy Hour at Sonic. Cheap, tasty, refreshing drinks for CHEAP! We like to stop in for ice cream every now and then, too. We don't eat their food very often because we know it's super unhealthy, but it is pretty good for fast food. Today I stopped in to get a such during happy hour and saw something new on the menu: Lil Quickies. It's a chicken tender or little hotdogs on buns. I ordered a ranch chicken thinking it would hold me over til supper. You guy. It was tiny! I guess it could be called a snack for my 8yo but definitely not and adult. I imagine if you wanted a meal ylu"d have to order at least four or five but then 2/3 of your meal would be bread. Do let me note the great service I had, though. Let me start off by saying I'm not a negative person, but here comes my negative review I always do a mobile order and I'm here at least once a week. I put my order in today and go get it wait 20 plus mins for 2 shakes and what should have been a blast and some cheese sticks. Here's were it goes bad not the waiting 20 mins but waiting just to get melted shakes and what was suppose to be my blast was a vanilla shake with nuts thrown in the middle to make me think it was a blast with a lid on it. So I was very upset cause a blast cost more than a shake in the first place but I really was wanting that blast. Anyway on the the next thing the cheese sticks oh my gosh did y'all pick them out of the trash to give me they was old keep in mind I had been waiting for 20 mins so why did I wait that long for melted shakes and old cheese sticks that was no where near fresh? And when you have a kid that took a bite and threw it away you know it's bad since most kids eat cheese sticks hot or cold. And I also tried to call before leaving such a negative review but no one picked up. Typically fast service but don't bother going after 9, for you can feel the workers don't want you there. Of the last 6 times I've eaten here 4 of those times I was given the wrong order. And the server would read the correct order and hand me the wrong item. Ordered buffalo got bbq, or would order a large and get a small, and most often when ordering a shake you are likely to get just about any other flavor than the one you asked for. I typically order the smores shake but have received a strawberry, cookies and cream and most recently a banana shake. All on different days. I get the feeling they intentionally make orders wrong when it's closer to closing time, because otherwise the frequency is uncanny. Today I ordered a medium s'mores shake an hour before close. The car hop brought it to me and confirmed it was a s'mores shake, the receipt on the screen as well as my paper receipt all say S'mores shake. And yet I take a sip and it tastes of banana barely mushed into vanilla ice cream. Normally I'd chock it up to them bringing me the wrong order, But they added the marshmallow fluff topping that comes with the s'mores shake into the banana smoothie they served me. So, If they were confused and trying to make a banana shake wouldn't they have used normal whipped cream? But they didn't. Like I get mistakes can happen but at some point it just becomes tricking your customers out of their money. And this is not the place I'd trust to send my food or drinks back to be remade. I'd recommend McDonald's over this place and that should speak volumes. read more

If I could give this place "zero" stars I would. My gosh, 45 minutes for 4 drinks and still no signs of orders being delivered to other customers. Walked in to ask for a refund and was told it would take 5-7 days to process. I explained I wanted to see the credit now as Apple shows you in real time. Owner was a real jerk and we will NEVER return to this joke of an establishment. The place was disgusting inside and they were just standing inside in a daze, clearly no one knows how to actually work. I've been to this sonic probably a dozen times. It's very hit or miss. I get good service about half the time. Most times, the drinks are great and the food sucks! (Which is pretty typical for sonic, I guess.) My last visit urged me to type this up. We waited for quite a bit of time before placing an order. They were busy, so it was excusable. It took a while to get our food to us. I really don't mind waiting for fresh food. Our food wasn't fresh in the slightest, I was upset. Once we got home we dug into the Ice Cream, I had ordered an Oreo Blast. My husband ordered a Triple Chocolate Shake. The ice cream tasted fine, but when I got about an inch down, I find that the bottom of the cup was filled with plain vanilla Ice Cream. They simply topped off vanilla ice cream with a small amount of Oreo Chocolate ice cream. My husband's ice cream was done the same way. I will not likely return to this location. read more

As I've mentioned in previous reviews of fast food restaurants, I don't stop at them often, but sometimes you just have to. Dealing with some stress and a non-existing appetite for a while, I finally woke up starving today and needed to eat! I didn't have the energy to make an egg sandwich so I did the next best thing, went and got one! I've always appreciated that Sonic does breakfast all day so a bacon, egg, and cheese toaster was in order. That is usually all I get from here. And sometimes it has been bad. The screens don't always work/show you the order, but I've never had a problem with my orders. I order a creme slush, a bannana creme pie shake, and a cookie dough shake for my kids and I'm sittin here watchin this guy in the green with no gloves on make these drinks and 3 drinks in a row grabs toppings barehanded and sprinkles them into the drinks....then, he walks to the front door and grabs the small broom a different employee had just used to sweep the parking lot, grabs the bristle end with one (ungloved) hand and proceed to push whatever is in the dispenser hanging from the ceiling toward the back with the handle. He then, goes straight back to the drink station and takes the bannana for my daughter's shake, peels it and grabs the bannana itself and breaks it off with his bare hand (the broom bristle one), and finishes making my drink!
