Son wanted Sonic and although I'm not a huge fan, we had lunch there. I ordered something that I usually wouldn't and was pleased with my food. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and chili cheese fries with unsweetened tea. Although the chicken was a bit over cooked, it tasted pretty good. The chili cheese fries were also pretty good. Sadly, my tea was not filled to the top because it was nothing but ice. By the time I drove to Walmart, two blocks away, the tea was gone so I took my glass in to add water. read more

I cried tears of joy (well, almost) when I was in Springfield visiting and learned that a Sonic had opened here as we do not have any in Chicago or the greater Chicagoland area. Best fast food chain ever - cherry lemonades, onion rings, tater tots, breakfast toaster sandwiches, burgers, chili dogs - I have yet to have something that wasn't fantastic. They will custom prepare anything and they do it with a smile. No one laughs at me or tells me no when I get a breakfast sandwich with egg, onion, mayo, pickle, tomato and cheese - they make it right up, unlike other fast food joints where they look at you like you are nuts or refuse outright to customize. Oh, yes, the food seems to have some magical hangover curing properties that you should investigate should you ever wake up on the wrong side of the bottle. read more

Good food, real value and fast. Exactly what I want in a fast food joint. In my opinion, these are among the best fast food burgers out there. The staff is prompt and friendly. It's easy on the wallet too. Plus, it is unique. How many drive ins are there anymore? Not many. Sure, this is not quite like the classic drive ins of the 50s and 60s, but it's a good fast food rendition. The only problem is the lack of indoor seating. I don't mind eating in the car, but some people do. Thus, it's hard for me to get to Sonic for a meal. When I do, it is worth it. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night snack. ohhh Sonic...how i love going through your drive-thru 4..5...6 times in my typical week long say when I visit Springfield. Sometimes we even go 2 times a day. I get the same thing every single time and have for years! Route 44 low calorie cherry limeade. Amaze!! The only other thing I've had here is the jr. banana split and it was great! I will never understand why the only have Sonics in California are in Bakersfield aka no-where-ville. Actually..I just remembered there is one near Disneyland in Anaheim! I've tried to talk my friends into going to get the drinks several times but they dont understand why we would ever make a 10-15 minute detour to go get a soft drink. The breakfast bowls are TINY. like 1 cup of food. I was expecting a size more like Kentucky Fried chicken's bowls and my son ordered a jumbo popcorn chicken and got like 8 nuggets, Not a good value anymore for the money. read more

Got son dinner. He got 24 Honey BBQ Chix Wing, taters and new Tiger Blood slushy. I got the Pickle one. We went through the drive threw. It take 20 minutes to get his wings. Then had to wait 5 minutes just to get my receipt. It's like they were making everything right at time of order but I have eaten at the other Sonic by Toys R Us and never waited that long. read more

Ordered a small tater tot and small unsweetened iced tea. Took probably 10 minutes to get. Tots were not hot, barely warm and tasted stale. Not the hot and crispy tot from years before! When I put the tea up to my mouth I immediately said "This smells like pine needles. Like pine sol." I took a drink and the flavor of lime was overwhelming. Had to spit it out. Husband tasted it and agreed. I figured a lime had to be in it so I dumped it out and nope. So kind of disturbing why it had such a strong lime flavor. Total waste of money, will not return. we arrived at sonic on a wednesday afternoon to enjoy a burger. upon arrival we pulled into the drive up and sat after clicking the red button. after ordering a remotely small meal we waited for around 30 minutes as people were attended to around us and ordered after us. why was this? we eventually left the premises getting sick of tired of this shit and left the location leaving behind our food that we didn't get. along with the wait we were surrounded by employees who were messing around outside the whole time . thank you for time. read more
