When I said what I was looking for, I was taken straight the absinthe. I don't think i would have found it on my own. This is a pretty small store that doesn't seem to have the largest selection. The absinthe was only available in one size - it will probably last me the rest of my life. This sounds terrible, but I rarely leave the ABC with just what I went in for. I found a few other things to try. Even though the prices were clearly marked on the shelved, I still had sticker shock - the Alabama sin tax annoys the heck out of me. Check out was pleasant - we had a little chat about various drinks and then I was on my way. I still haven't made my Sazerac.

The sample kit was available for pickup at the store after registering for the event. It was cool to learn about the family history behind the distillery from the brothers hosting the virtual tasting. Each sample whiskey or liquor has a history behind its making. The sample bottles were a generous amount of spirit. Each tasting was uniquely delicious, the Belle Meade Bourbon Reserve was strong but had a smooth after taste, the Belle Meade Bourbon Classic tasted like a quality classic bourbon, Nelson's Greenbrier Tennessee Whiskey was a unique blend of apple crisp, cinnamon, and barley flavors, and Louisa's Liqueur was a yummy dessert to top off the night. Many of their bottles weren't labeled, so I had to ask the young girl who came to help me about the their prices. Less than 3 minutes into me asking what cost what, she walks off and starts helping another customer. I waited for a few minutes thinking she was going to come back, but she just went on about her business and left me hanging. So after standing there for another 10 minutes, I realized she or any other employee weren't coming back to further assist me, so I left those cases and walked out. I'm definitely not supporting a business that will just ignore their customers like that.

He responded in less than 24 hours and agreed to address the issue and offered compensation (although not necessary). Plan on going here again based on the excellent response by the owner!!!

Over the years, I have visited it numerous times without any issue. As with any ABC store, you know what you are getting. This store, although small-ish in size, does offer all the standard liquor selections. The only complaint is the parking lot. The parking lot is very small, with limited spaces. If you visit this ABC store, be sure to pay close attention to pedestrians trying to get into the store and also be aware of folks vying for the limited parking spaces.

This store was acquired by Windmill Beverages several years ago. I liked Great Spirits because…read moreservice was always friendly and helpful, and they gave a 10% discount when you bought a case. I recall you could mix and match your wines in the case and still get the discount. I don't think Windmill offers the same discount, but don't quote me, I've been wrong before. Great Sprits always had Vinho Verde which I love in the hot summer months and the staff would be more than happy to help you to the car with your purchases. There are several coolers with chilled wines and beer selection. This location is "easy in" and "easy out" if you are southbound on Memorial Parkway. I have never had a bad experience at any Windmill store I've been to. This store should be a solid option for your beer/wine/liquor needs. I recommend you ignore the Yelp classification of this being a party planning store, or a gift shop/wedding gift shop. The only gift related items I saw here were wine gift bags.
