This place is the worst ran place! If you don't pass a certain person's rules you don't get what you want! The food is always mediocre and either warm or cold! If you get their shakes those are about the only thing they can do! The wait for food is at a low 15 to 20 minutes! The people at the window are halfway there or they are totally bitchy! SUPA SONIC If you can imagine, there aren't very many places to Yelp in a small town. The two stop lights and one supermarket in all of Rocky Ford is a dead give away. So, my Yelping career seems to have hit a bump in the 'ol road. But bear with me as I work through this new adventure. ::Enter Sonics:: My VERY FIRST Sonic Drive-In experience wasn't in Cali. No, no. It was here in Sweet Home Cola-rah-dee!! It was only last week when we pulled into the La Junta Amtrak Station and wandered on over here for a late night dinner upon touching down. You won't find any roller skating here, just rows & rows of car ports. Being the only fast food joint in the entire Rocky Ford area, Sonic was alright. I've seen the commercials and I only dreamed of having a cold and yummy treat to indulge in. Finally, I was here. We pulled up and quickly read through the menu. Not in the mood for anything sugary (shocker, I know) I just ordered a few things for the family. We rang the button a few times for them to finally answer us but alas someone decided to give me a holler back. With all two of us pulled up in the whole lot, you'd think one of the three girls working could have been paying more attention. After a short wait, here's what our brown bags consisted of: a foot long chili dog with tots, jalapeno burger with onion rings, 2 corn dogs, a Chicago dog with fries, and a New York dog. Everything was okay. Reminds me of the kind of grub you get at a Dairy Queen, if you know what I mean. Mediocre and pretty much generic in flavor. You'll like the onions rings if you fancy a sweeter tasting batter. I suppose their claim to fame would be their treats. It was too bad I wasn't in the mood for it after that long train ride. I rarely give chains 5 stars, because I value the authentic. If this was the only Sonic in the world, it'd get 5 stars for what it is. Is it healthy? No. Are there great choices when you don't care about healthy choices? Yes. Is it yummy, regardless? Yes. More importantly, is the staff friendly and professional? Heck yes! Is it welcoming? Yes! I've stopped for Two drinks. Waited 35/40 minutes. Still didn't get our drinks. No one came to make it right or apologize . Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I stopped again. Same thing! We came in for a couple of Cokes on our way to Pueblo and we waited for 16 minuets for our order of drinks. Just to drinks.

Ok given that this place is seriously one of the only places to eat in the entire area and the one we really wanted to go to was closed (Lynette's Sugar Cafe) so had to settle for this. I am giving this place three stars because I was crazy hungry and their vanilla milkshake did not disappoint and made everything else better. read more
